The final chapter of ORAS is upon us.

Guess you could say Archie... bit of more than he could chew!

Too bad his actions came back to bite him in the leg XD.

At Sootopolis, we get to witness Javi’s final gym battle.

“Thank you for helping us with Team Aqua. We gym leaders really appreciate it.” Wallace takes center stage, as he releases all his Pokémon at once. “And to honor your contributions, I’ll delight you with the presence of my beautiful water type Pokémon.”

“Okay Florinda, just like we’ve been practicing.” Javi, on the other hand, only needed one Pokémon to take down this army. The Vileplume then channeled all her strength; and with a single Giga Drain attack, she defeated all five Pokémon at the same time.

I’m having a bit of Deja vu right now.

And with Wallace defeated, Javi obtains his eight and final gym badge, and you all know what that means…

FINAL CHAPTER: It’s time

A few days later, Javi and company exit a large cave; the seven of them were running for their lives, as if they were escaping from something powerful. “Oh my goodness, that was so close.” Javi commented out loud, and Bluey followed suit. “Tell me about it. Who the f*** thought it was a good idea to allow trainers to use non-native Pokémon?!!”

“It wasn’t so bad, I liked that Green Haired Kid.” Shellsea replies. “Shame we didn’t run into him more often during our adventure, I wish him the best.”

“He’s alright, but let’s not forget where we are right now.” As soon as Martha brought it up, everyone turned around to behold the large red building in front of them. “The Pokémon League: the ultimate challenge for both trainers and Pokémon.”

“If we defeat all the trainers inside, we’ll become the new Hoenn champions.” Sparks, still wearing her rockstar attire, was more than excited to enter. “Can you imagine that?!!! I’ll become a legend for being the first Pikachu in the Hall of Fame.”

“If we win, that is.” Florinda commented. “Do we really stand a chance against them?”

“I believe we do.” Miles answers to the Vileplume’s question. “After all, we were strong enough to defeat all the eight gym leaders, and help save the world as well. And with a trainer like Master Javi on our side, there’s no way we can lose now.”

“Thanks Miles, but I shouldn’t take all the credit for this.” Javi then stared at all the six Pokémon in front of him. “This was a team effort, and you all took part in this. You’re the best team of Pokémon a child could ask for. I love you.”

The team then hugged each other one last time, before heading towards the entrance.

“Javi, wait.” A familiar voice could be heard from inside the cave. “Sorry if I didn’t show up earlier, I needed some time to deal with what happened at the Petalburg Gym.” It was May, and she was happy to see her little brother again. “But I’m here to wish you luck at the league.”

“Thanks May, for everything.” Javi then hugged his fellow trainer, before returning with his team. “Now, It’s time for us to become Pokémon Masters.”
With this, the seven individuals entered the Pokémon League. Once and for all.

…

Their first opponent is Sydney, the Dark Type specialist.

“Seriously, another Mightyena?!!” Javi was astonished at the Elite Four member’s first Pokémon. “I love them, but this is getting kinda old.”

“I might be old, but at least I don’t lie about my age.” The Mightyena threw shade at Florinda. “Look at her, she’s clearly pretending to be younger than she re–” And as expected, the opponent’s attempt at taunting them ended up with them getting a Sludge Bomb to the face. Seriously, even I am growing tired of this.

“What a surprise.” Javi comments. “And let me guess, you also have a Sharpedo too.” Sydney just stood there quietly, before releasing his Sharpedo.

The Vileplume then obliterates Sharpedo with Giga Drain, and defeats both a Shiftry and a Cacturne with a Sludge Bomb. But then, Sydney unleashes his ace Pokémon: Absol, who Florinda defeats in one hit with a deadly Sludge Bomb. Next!!!!

…

The second Elite Four Member is a trainer with an Alolan get up.

“Greetings young trainer.” The opponent then introduces herself. “My name’s Phoebe. Master of Ghost Type Pokémon.”
“No f***ing way, is your name really Phoebe?!!” Bluey was shocked upon hearing that. “That’s how my old trainer used to call me!!!”

“Really? I didn’t know that.” This is what happens when you nickname your Pokémon instead of asking them if they have one already. “Do you want me to call you that?”

“Not really, I prefer Bluey anyways. It reminds me of someone very dear to me.” Did she just say what I think she just said? “Now if you excuse me, I’m gonna Crunch the s*** outta those ghosts.” Yeah, that’s more like it.

…

Next up is Glacia, the Ice Queen of Hoenn.

“Now Froslass, use Confuse Ray.” The Elite Four member quickly ordered her Pokémon to flash a hypnotic light at Martha. “You might as well give up young man, there’s no way your Pokémon can hit mine now. You’re th—”

Her words were cut short when the Hariyama flattened Froslass like a Pancake.

“You have no idea how many trainers in the region have tried to confuse us.” Martha replied while taking down the rest of Glacia’s team with Close Combat. “We’re pretty much immune to that status at this point.”

Three down, one more to go.

…

The final elite four member was Drake: the dragon type master.

“Excuse me Drake, sweetie, do you know what killed the Dragon types?” Shellsea asked the trainer like the good grandma she is, to which Drake replies by saying he doesn’t know. “Well, the answer is simple.” The Pelipper then put up a pair of sunglasses. “It’s the Ice Age.”

With a single Ice Beam, Shellsea froze Drake’s entire team solid. That was epic.
And with all Elite Four members defeated, only one trainer remains.

…

At the final hall of the Pokémon League, the champion awaits his newest challenger.

“Greetings Javi, glad to see you’ve made it.” It was Steven. Steven is the final challenge Javi has to face to become a Pokémon Master. “Let’s get this started.”

Steven made the first move, and he starts out with his trusty old Skarmory.

“Alright, I have the perfect answer to this.” Javi unleashes his first Pokémon, for one last time. “Sparks, dazzle the audience with Thunderbolt.” The Pikachu, as soon as she entered the field, shoots a bolt of electricity at the metal bird, defeating it with a single.

However, before falling down, the Skarmory spreads a bunch of Spikes around the field.

The second Pokémon Steven sends out is Aggron, another powerful steel type. “As much as I’d like to do an encore, It’s better if I give the spotlight to someone else.” Sparks said before using a deadly Volt Switch. “Hey Grannie, you’re up.”

Shellsea appears, avoiding an Earthquake like the queen she is. The Pelipper then soaks the Rock type wet using Surf. Two down, six more to go.

The third Pokémon is Cradily, an infamous rock type. This dangerous Pokémon acted fast and began shooting Ancient Power at Shellsea. Luckily, Florinda arrived to shield her teammate. Unfortunately, after getting hit by the move, Cradily began to move and act faster.

Within seconds, the foe bombarded the Vileplume with an Array of Ancient Powers, with one of them powering it up even more. But FLorinda didn’t give up, and attacked back with a single Sludge bomb, which managed to poison the opponent.

It only took one more Sludge Bomb to take down the fossil Pokémon.

Both Claydol and Armaldo were taken down with ease thanks to Florinda’s Giga Drain attack, which left only one opponent: Metagross. “I must admit, you’ve proven to be quite the adversary.” Steven commented while grabbing his pin. “So I don’t need to hold anything back.”

A familiar turquoise light surrounded the Pseudo-Legendary. It Mega evolved.

It was powerful, being near its presence was enough to terrify everyone. They didn’t know how to deal with this… without losing anyone.

The Mega-Metagross went on the offensive, and began to charge at Florinda with all its might. The Vileplume couldn’t do anything but watch how the opponent rams at her with a deadly Giga Impact, knocking her unconscious in a matter of seconds.

“Oh gosh, what do I do now?” Javi was in panic mode right now. “Should I go with Miles? What about Martha? Can Shellsea handle this beast? There’s no way Sparks can—”

“Put me in.” Bluey volunteered to go next. “Worst case scenario, I weaken it a bit so Miles can finish up the job.” No, Javi was not gonna put her in such a risk. “Let me do this. Not just for you, but for me. To prove myself I’m not weak.”

With much hesitation, Javi goes with it.

Bluey made the first move and began attacking the Metagross with multiple Crunch attacks. But the pseudo-legendary, however, stood there while it was being attacked. The Giga Impact took a lot of energy, and needed time to recharge.

But as soon as it got its strength back, the mega pokémon shakes Bluey off, ready to go for another Giga impact. “Not this time f***er!!” The Mightyena also charges at the foe, covering herself with a powerful dark energy. "Here goes nothing."

Before the Metagross could even react, Bluey hits it with the most powerful Sucker Punch you’ve ever seen. The two stood quietly for a brief moment, before the pseudo legendary collapsed on the floor, reverting back to its original form.

Bluey did it. She defeated the champion’s ace, and became the champion of Hoenn.
They did it, Javi’s team are now Pokémon Masters. Just like the child first dreamed off.

Nobody knows what’s gonna happen next. But one thing’s for sure, as long as you fight with all your might, you can make your dreams come true.

This is it, the final set of battles. Wallace, Wally and the E4 were piece of cake; but Steven, now that was a battle.

I still can't believe Bluey was able to defeat Mega Metagross. That has to be one of the most epic things I've ever seen.
It's a shame it came at the cost of Florinda the Vileplume.

She was killed by Steven's Ace, but I decided to write her death as her just fainting so it doesn't ruin the happy ending I was going for.

Overall, this run was very fun to write. Especially the latest chapters, man I've been on a roll back then.
I've always wanted to write a classic nuzlocke run, and I'm happy to see it all the way to the end.

Oh, and I also caught a few Pokémon before the final fight. Magnet is from New Mauville, I caught Katniss in one of the mirage spots, and Dr. flew was flying in the sky. Also, whoever thought it was a good idea for the Victory Road trainers to have National Dex Pokémon can go step on a lego.

Thank goodness my team was super strong, otherwise they all would've died there.

This marks the end of the Alpha Sapphire run. As for what's next, I have a small teaser just for you.

A long time ago, the world of Pokémon lived in an era of peace and tranquility. That is, until a meteor fell from the sky; from that moment on, that era of peace became nothing more than a memory.

Eternatus, a large creature who emerged from the meteor, began to spread chaos and destruction whenever it went. Its overwhelming power was enough to decimate entire villages in a matter of seconds. No Pokémon stood a chance against it.

However, when all hope was lost, two Pokémon were brave enough to confront Eternatus: one of them wielding a legendary sword, and the other one equipped with a powerful shield. The duo engaged in combat with the creature; and with the power granted to them by their weapons, they were able to defeat it once and for all.

Upon their victory, the two heroes then vanished into the unknown. Some say they are watching the region as protectors, while others claim they are waiting for when another world-ending threat reaches the region.

Eternatus however, upon its defeat, exploded into many different pieces. These pieces were scattered across the entire region, releasing what is known as the Dyna Energy. Any Pokémon who gets into contact with enough of this purple energy begins to increase in size.

It’s been a century since that fateful day, and the Dyna Energy is still a part of our way of life. But it’s only a matter of time before someone tries to use it; whether it is to help others, or for their own nefarious purposes.

Starting off the final chapter by making the 8th gym battle into a footnote? Nice.

Great job clearing the league! Mega-Metagross is absolutely brutal. It's sad that winning cost you Florinda, but wow Bluey came in clutch! Really impressive!

As for next time... a PMD-style SwSh story? Sounds fun!

Yesterday was Labor Day in my country. And you know what that means... the start of a new run:
Sunny with a vengeance: A PMD-based Sword Storylocke

Starting off the final chapter by making the 8th gym battle into a footnote? Nice.

Great job clearing the league! Mega-Metagross is absolutely brutal. It's sad that winning cost you Florinda, but wow Bluey came in clutch! Really impressive!

As for next time... a PMD-style SwSh story? Sounds fun!

The Bluey Clutch is real!!!!

Our story begins with a usual day in the land of Galar: a Lombre turned giant all of the sudden, and began running towards somewhere. “There it is, we found the giant Pokémon.” From a distance, a person was observing the situation. “Alright team, we have to stop that Lombre from reaching the village. You guys ready?”

The person was none other than Nuzleaf, and she was leading a small group of Pokémon wearing blue scarfs. “Let’s get going, I believe in you.” The Nuzleaf and her four teammates then went after the giant.

“Okay team, begin operation trip and fall.” The five pokémon then got into position. First, the Nuzleaf and a Meowth jumped towards the Lombre to hit it in the head. This made the giant Pokémon flinch in return; and with a Pancham and a Chewtle holding the feet, this caused it to fall into the floor.

Finally, a Baltoy holds the target with their psychic power and prevents it from getting up, all while the others take a hold of each of the limbs.

They stay like that for a few minutes, until the Lombre returns to its original size. “Uhh, my head.” the former giant felt dizzy. “What just happened?”

“You got giant, but everything’s fine now.” The Nuzleaf then gave the Lombre an apple from her bag. “I suggest you return home to rest, and try to stay away from any power spots from now on.”

Now that that’s settled, the team prepared to head back home as well.

Job 01: Turn over a New Leaf

The team entered a large camp located near some plains. “Main D.I.G headquarters.” Indicated a sign near the entrance.

Inside, they run into a familiar Grookey. “Hello Basil.” The Nuzleaf shouts from afar. “Hope you’re doing great.” Basil, on the other hand, ignored them and continued doing his thing.

“Hey, stop that!!!” Meanwhile, a Hatenna is being bitten by the Chewtle, before throwing the water type at the Nuzleaf. “How about you keep your teammates in check for once!!!” The Psychic type then leaves in anger.

Other Pokémon found there were a Grubbin, a Purrloin, a Joltik, a Snover, a Delibird, a Wingull, a Barboach, and a Rolycoly. They were all doing their own thing, trying to be of help in the headquarters.

“Welcome back Team Leaf.” A Copperajah cheerfully greeted. “How did your mission go?”

“Things went well, Guildmaster Peony.” The Nuzleaf commented. “The giant didn’t cause much trouble for us, and we calmed it down with ease.”

“Excellent job Jasmine.” The Guildmaster responded. “Keep up the good work everyone.”

“Hey Guildmaster, if it’s okay to ask?” The Pancham decided to intervene. “When are we gonna get a real challenge? We’ve been doing nothing but taking down weak giants, and it’s so boring.”

“Buttercup, our job here at the Defense and Intervention Guild is to help Pokémon, no matter how small or weak they are.” The Guildmaster lectured the small fighting type, before receiving a letter from an incoming Pelipper.

“A request for help?” The steel type opens the letter to check what’s happening. “Oh no, a giant Pokémon is attacking the Turffield Village.”

“That’s not possible, there isn’t any power spots near Turffield.” Jasmine comments.

“Either way, it’s our job to try and help them.” The copperajah replied. “I’m counting on you team, good luck.” Jasmine and company then exited the camp to head towards the village.

…

The team was running as fast as they could, making sure nobody got left behind. Easier said than done however, as some of the Pokémon were not as fast as the others. “Hey guys, wait for me.” The Baltoy was falling behind.

“Cosmos, please try to step it up.” Jasmine commented. “We have to get to Turffield before something bad happens.”

“Before something what now?!!!” The conversation was overheard by a Raboot passing by. “What on earth is gonna happen at Turffield?”

“There’s a giant Pokémon heading there.” Buttercup answered the question with excitement. “We’re gonna go kick its butt, and help the residents too. But mostly the first one.”

“A giant Pokémon there? That means… oh no.” Upon hearing Pancham’s words, the fire type began to shake. Her eyes shed a few tears, and her first began to clench. “Sorry, but I have to go. Need to retrieve something.”

With the Raboot running away from the area, the team continued with their trip.

…

The quintet finally arrives at the village, where everything has fallen into chaos: houses were destroyed, Pokémon were running around in complete panic, it felt like the apocalypse had just started.

And who’s the culprit of all this destruction? A Giant Eldegoss causing mayhem.

This grass type did nothing but shoot leafs at anything that stands in its way. “So, how do we deal with this boss?” The Meowth asked Jasmine. “We create a distraction Ron, draw its attention so it doesn’t destroy any more of the village.” The Nuzleaf began commanding her teammates. “Cosmos, Daisy, get the villagers outta here. We’ll deal with the Eldegoss.”

The Baltoy and the Chewtle then begin looking for villagers, while Jasmine and Ron try to hit the Eldegoss in the head. The grass type was faster though, and shoots razor sharp leaves at them. The attack was enough to stop the duo and make them fall to the floor.

“Jasmine, Ron.” They were alright, thankfully, but their injuries prevented them from getting up. “That’s it, you’re going down.” Buttercup tried to attack the Eldegoss, but one kick from the giant Pokémon was enough to take care of the Pancham.

“Is this really the best they can do?!!” The Eldegoss couldn’t help but laugh at his defeated foes. “Soon we’ll take over this village, then the region, and then the world. And there’s no one who can stop us.”

“Not if I can help it.” A voice could be heard from one of the remaining houses. Upon looking around, everyone discovered it belonged to a single Raboot. The same one Jazmin’s team stumbled upon a while back.

“What are you doing here?!!!” The Nuzleaf called the fire type out for her reckless behavior. “This place is not safe, you have to get outta here now.”

“Don’t worry, I can take care of myself.” After saying that, the Raboot then unrolls one of her sleeves to reveal some kind of bracelet. She then takes a small crystal out of her bag. And by putting the crystal into the notch of the bracelet, absorbing the power it contained in the process, she was able to achieve the impossible: grow to a gigantic size. Enough to match the size of the Eldegoss.

“Impossible!!!” The grass type shouted. “I thought we were the only ones who could grow. How ca–” His rant was interrupted when the Raboot charged at him with all her might. The fire type then began to punch her opponent; over, and over, and over again.

All these punches made him flinch, and he eventually trips into a village house, destroying it when he falls down. “No, no. Get away from me!!!” Eldegoss got scared, and began shooting Leaves at the Raboot to keep her away. But the attempt was futile, as it did nothing to the giant pokémon.

Having the upper hand, the Raboot used this opportunity to jump high into the sky. “You’re done.” She then ignites her right leg on fire, and aims it towards the Eldegoss at top speed.

One kick, only one kick was needed to defeat the giant pokémon. Once, and for all.

“It can’t end, not like this.” The Eldegoss’ body was then filled with some sort of unstable energy, it was surging out of control. “Master, I’ve failed you.” Those were his last words, before the energy inside him exploded. Leaving nothing behind.

The day was saved, but at a great cost.

“What have you done?!!!” Jasmine called the Raboot out. “That Pokémon had a whole life ahead of him. And you destroyed him like nothing.”

“Believe me, that jerk deserved his fate.” The fire type didn’t even try to be subtle with her answer. “People like him, people like them, are nothing but monsters” She then turned her back on the Nuzleaf, and set her sights towards the horizon.

“They don’t care about the places they destroy, or the lives they ruin.” And with one hop, she leaves the village.

Jasmine and her team, on the other hand, are in shock for what just happened. But, in the place where the Eldegoss exploded, Buttercup was able to find something: a bracelet, very similar to the one worn by the Scorbunny.

They all had so many questions, but not enough answers.
To be continued…

???? the Raboot. Mild Nature, somewhat vain.

Jasmine the Nuzleaf. Lonely nature, likes to fight.
Buttercup the Pancham. Jolly nature, likes to thrash.

Cosmos the Baltoy. Hasty nature, capable of taking hits.

Others

Clover the Grubbin. Quirky nature, capable of taking hits.
Gladiolus the Purrloin. Quite nature, likes to run.
Holly the Joltik. Careful nature, mischievous.
Lily the Snover. Serious nature, likes to relax.

Orchid the Barboach. Mild nature, loves to eat.
Poppy the Rolycoly. Calm nature, likes to relax.

As you can see, we're off to an unconventional start. Not just because of the PMD-settings, but due to the fact we're going straight for the grass type gym. Needless to say, this story is very loosely based on the one present in the original Sword.

Oh, I should probably mention that this run is somewhat inspired by tokusatsu shows like Power Rangers, with the whole giant monster gimmick of Dynamaxing. This will probably also be the most self-indulging work in this anthology, since I'm a huge fan of the genre (that is pretty niche), so I apologize in advance.

Gameplay-wise, a lot of things happened: got my starter, who turned out to female, neat; then I beat Hop like three times with ease, it's very easy to beat him with a Scorbunny on your side; Bede was a piece of cake too with Daisy's bite, powered up by Strong Jaw; and when my starter evolved, she was able to defeat Milo's team with ease.

When it comes to catches, I've made sure to catch a 'mon in every single area I could; both in the normal routes, and the wild area.
Clover was caught on Route 01, Gladiolus on Route 02, Jasmine on Rolling Fields (as a Nuzleaf for some reason), Holly on Dappled Grove, Lily on Watchtower ruins (at lv.12), Lotus at West Lake Axewell, Tulip at East Lake Axewell, Orchid by fishing at North Lake Miloch, Cosmos at South Lake Miloch, Daisy by fishing at Motostoke, Buttercup at Route 03, Poppy at the Galar Mine, and Ron at Route 04.

Those are a lot of catches, I know, but better safe than sorry in this game. SwSh can be brutal if you don't have the right Pokémon, and I'm not taking any chances. Also, quick mention that UCL rules force me to catch only wild encounter and not overworld encounters, except when that's not a possiblity like in the Galar Mine. There's a system regarding overworld encounters, but I'll tell you more about it when the time comes.

Stay tuned next week, as we discovered more about this world, and the people who inhabit it.

Thanks for reading as always, and I wish you all a nice evening.

Female Scorbunny? Nuclear? Baltoy? You're building a pretty neat team already!

I really like the premise for this one, and dynamax is perfect for tokusatsu-style villains!

Chapter 02 is live!!!

Female Scorbunny? Nuclear? Baltoy? You're building a pretty neat team already!
I really hope they all make it to the end. It's pokémon Sword after all, and it can be brutal at times.

I really like the premise for this one, and dynamax is perfect for tokusatsu-style villains!
I'm really surprised nobody has tried that already. Dynamax offers a lot of giant monster goodness.

Our story today starts in an ancient temple, located on top of a large mountain suffering from an endless blizzard. Inside said temple, a single pokémon stands in front of a small crowd.

“Master, I have bad news.” An Inteleon reported to his superiors, but not before kneeling down before them. “It’s Agent Mistletoe. He 's done .”

“Why am I not surprised? That guy was just a rookie.” A Charizard wasn’t mad, just disappointed. “And were you able to find out who destroyed him?”
“From what I’ve gathered, It seems like the culprit was a Raboot.” Inteleon responded.

“A Raboot? So that doctor had a child.” A Duralodon commented. “While we’re at it, were you at least able to retrieve the Bracelet?”
“No sir.” Inteleon replied. “Someone already took it when I got to Tuffield.”

“No matter, my new inventions will make that bracelet obsolete.” A Garbodor boasted about herself. “What matters is to get rid of that pest before they become a problem.”

“And I know the right Pokémon for the job.” The Charizard then stands up, and prepares to give an order. “Bring me… Agent Hydrangea.”

Job 02: Out of the Shell

Back at the D.I.G Headquarters, Jasmine and her team explained to the guildmaster what just happened in the village: the giant Eldegoss, the Raboot, everything. “My goodness.” The Copperajah was shocked to say the least. “I don’t know what to say.”

“Us neither, if we’re being honest.” The Nuzleaf replied while showing the bracelet they took. “We are not sure what all of this means for the future.”

“It means we're facing a dangerous threat.” A person then shows up out of nowhere, alongside a small army of Pokémon. “Greetings, I’m chief of Police Rose Laurel.” Another Copperajah introduces himself. “And the threat in question is none other than Wildfire.”

“Wildfire?” Somebody asked. “Wildfire is a sinister organization whose goal is to destroy our beautiful region, and rule it with an iron fist.”
That’s what the Eldegoss said before, thought everyone on Jasmine’s team.

“I’ve been investigating their activity for a while now.” Rose was getting worked up over this. “And it seems like they’re making their moves now. Something I’ve been dreading ever since.” He was angry, this must be very serious.

The Copperajah then summoned a bunch of Pokémon by whistling: a small Espurr, an Arrokuda, a Corphish, a Scraggy, among others. “We will need all the help we can get to defeat them.” Rose stated. “And since you already had experience with them, D.I.G could contribute a lot to our cause.”

“I’m gonna stop you right there chief.” The guildmaster objected to the idea, however. “Our job is to help people in need, not fight dangerous criminals.” Everyone in the guild agreed.

“And what the people need is for us to defeat Wildfire.” Rose replied in return. “Those guys are a danger to our region. Is that what you really want? For them to destroy innocent lives?” Upon hearing those words, the guildmaster had no choice but to accept working with him.

“Excellent.” Rose’s troops then began setting up shop in the guild, in a bit of an aggressive takeover. “First order of business is to find that Raboot who destroyed that Eldegoss.” He brings an exact drawing of the fire type. “She might know something.”

“Guildmaster!!” A worned down Thwackey arrives at the guild with some news. “We’ve found the Raboot, she is heading towards the town of Hulbury.”

“You’ve heard it team, better head there before she gets away.” Rose then threw the bracelet at Jasmine. “Keep that with you in case you run into another giant.” The Nuzleaf and her group then headed towards the guild’s exit.

“Who on earth does that rose guy think he is?” As soon as they were far away from Rose’s sight, Cosmos was the first person to speak his mind about the situation. “There’s no way he can just show up and boss us around like a bunch of thugs.”

“I know it’s not ideal, but we have no choice.” Jasmine reprimanded her teammate. “And if the guildmaster trusts him, then he can’t be that bad.”
“As long as I can kick some butt, then it’s fine by me.” And with Buttercup’s comment, the team began their journey towards the Raboot.

…

The town of Hulbury is located right next to the ocean, with its residents getting to enjoy the beautiful sight of the sea in all its glory. One of those lucky individuals who got to witness such a breathtaking sight was the Raboot, who just finished buying food from the local market. “Excuse me young girl, are you lost?” A mysterious figure was standing right behind her. “This ain’t a place for people like you. Better head back home while you still can.”

“Sorry, but I can’t head back home. Not after what they did.” As the Raboot kept speaking, the mysterious figure kept getting closer to her. “Not after what you did!!!” The fire type acted quickly and jumped right before the figure could push her towards the sea.

“You’re good, I’ll give you that.” The mysterious Pokémon turned out to be a tough-looking Dreadnaw. “But it’s gonna take more than that to defeat me.” Raboot accepts the challenge and begins kicking the water type; her attacks, however, did nothing to the opponent.

“Is that really the best you have?” The Dreadnaw taunts her opponent. “My shell is indestructible. There’s nothing in the world that can break it.”

Hearing that, the fire type kept her distance while searching for her bracelet. But when she found it, she discovered the crystal wasn’t fully charged. Making it impossible for her to grow giant. “Sorry little girl, but your luck just ran out.” The Dreadnaw was about to deal the finishing blow. “You should’ve thought twice before messing with us.”

Luckily for the Raboot, the foe interrupted her attack after being hit by razor-sharp leaves.

“Are you okay?” Jasmine and her team arrived at the nick of time to save the fire type, while staring daggers at the opponent. “Aren’t you ashamed of yourself, hurting someone who can’t fight back?!!!”

“You little brat!!!” Dreadnaw, meanwhile, was busy taking the leaves out of her shell. The attack didn’t hurt her, but it sure made her angry. “I’m gonna teach you all a lesson you’ll never forget!!!” The water type then grabbed her own bracelet, and jumped into the water.

Within seconds the ground began to shake, and the giant Dreadnaw began to rise from the water, causing a huge splash in the process.

“Hey, you. The Nuzleaf.” The Raboot called Jasmine, upon noticing the bracelet the grass type had. “The crystal in your bracelet is fully charged, you can grow giant too.” The fire type was begging. “Please, you’re the only one who can defeat her.”

Jasmine wasn’t so sure about this: this was only meant to be a simple mission, not a fight for their lives. But seeing the desperation in the Raboot’s eyes was enough to convince her to put on the bracelet. She began to grow in size in seconds, and was ready to fight.

“Hey, where do you think you’re going?!!!” Buttercup notices how the fire type then tried to run away. “You’re not safe with me around. I need to get outta here before they associate me with your team with me.”

The rest of the team tried to go after her, but then a strong noise could be heard nearby. “Looks like we hit the jackpot today.” A bunch of dark types broke into a house. “With the giant attacking and everyone else running, we’ll be swimming in loot.”

“Oh great, bandits.” Buttercup was part happy, part upset. “Me and Ron can deal with them. Cosmos, you and Daisy go after the Raboot.”

As this was happening, Jasmine began to fight the Dreadnaw. But the Nuzleaf could only push her away from the town, while the two fought in the water. “What’s the matter? too afraid to fight.” The water type began mocking. “And here I thought you were a worthy opponent.”

“I’m not gonna destroy you.” Jasmine stated. “Just gonna hold you off until we both return to normal.” But her words only made the foe even angrier.

Meanwhile, the Raboot continued running away from the town. At least, until she was stopped by a psychic force of some kind. “Sorry, but we can’t afford to let you go.” A small Hattene was holding her in place alongside other three Psychic types. “Miss Sunny.”

“How… how do you know my name?” Sunny couldn’t break free, as much as she tried. “I can read your mind. And I know you have a lot of precious information in that head of yours.” The team then began to increase the intensity of their attack. “And that info makes you a dangerous threat to us.”

Sunny screamed in pain, as her entire body was being crushed by the attack.

“Ouch, what the heck?!!!” The Hatenna was then bitten in the ear by a small Chewtle, while Ron began attacking a Gothita and a Ponyta with his metallic claws. “What are you doing Plumeria?!!!” The meowth called out the lead psychic type. “It’s our job to bring the Raboot. Alive.”

With three of the four Psychics busy fighting, Sunny broke free. And by covering her body with fire, she charged at the Solosis, defeating it with a single attack. “Screw this, I’m outta here.” Plumeria gathered her squad, and prepared to teleport. “Let’s see how the boss will feel about your team when I tell him what happened.”

Plumeria escaped, but Sunny was too tired to even move. “This can’t be good.”

Back in Hulbury, Jasmine kept pushing the Dreadnaw away from the town. “I’m getting tired of this.” The foe tackled the Nuzleaf, pushing her out of the way. “Since you ain’t gonna hurt me, might as well try and search for that Raboot.” After searching around, the water type spotted Sunny being carried by Ron and Daisy. “Excellent.” She then opened her mouth to prepare an attack. “One blast of water, and she’ll be wiped out of existence.”

An attack of that size could obliterate everyone in town, including Jasmine’s teammates. She knew this, she had to stop it. So, without thinking about it, she shot a giant razor-sharp leaf at the other giant Pokémon. The attack went through the Dreadnaw’s body; by the time she noticed it, it was already too late. “This was meant to be… an easy… job.” Those were her last words, before she exploded. Just like the Eldegoss beforehand.

Jasmine just destroyed a person. That’s all she could think about, as she returned to her original size. “Jasmine, we were able to fend off the bandits.” Buttercup tried to speak with the Nuzleaf, but her words weren’t heard.

“Jasmine, we’ve found the Raboot.” Ron arrives with Sunny, being carried by the newly evolved Daisy. “But she needs medical attention stat.” Jasmine could only nod in agreement, as they all headed back to the guild.

To be continued…

Rhododendron "Ron" the Galarian Meowth. Brave nature, likes to relax.
Daisy the Dreadnaw. Naughty nature, very finnicky.
Cosmos the Baltoy. Hasty nature, capable of taking hits.

Others

Clover the Grubbin. Quirky nature, capable of taking hits.
Gladiolus the Purrloin. Quite nature, likes to run.
Holly the Joltik. Careful nature, mischievous.
Lily the Snover. Serious nature, likes to relax.

Lotus the Delibird. Impish Nature, somewhat of a clown.
Tulip the Wingull. Serious nature, somewhat vain.
Orchid the Barboach. Mild nature, loves to eat.
Poppy the Rolycoly. Calm nature, likes to relax.

Mary Gold The Espurr. Sassy nature, quick to flee.
Hibiscus the Arrokuda. Bashful Nature, likes to run.
Bud the Corphish. Lax nature, a little quick tempered.
Gardenia the Scraggy. Docile nature, sturdy body.

My goodness, there's a lot to talk about this chapter.

To prevent any misunderstandings, this chapter covers everything after beating Milo, but before reaching Motostoke.

The Thwackey (Basil) represents the Hop battle, who Sunny defeats with ease. Hydrangea the Dreadnaw is the Nessa equivalent, who Jasmine thankfully defeated in one hit (Nessa's team can be scary without a grass type). The bandits looting the village are Team Yell in game. And finally, the Hatenna is obviously Bede, that one took more of a team effort to defeat (Psychic types hit like a truck).

But the most important additions to the story are by far the introduction of Wildfire and Rose Laurel. Wildfire is the main antagonist of this story, and the equivalent of the Pokémon League (Guess how I came up with the name, and how long it took me XD); as for Rose Laurel, we'll see.

As for catches: Mary Gold is from Route 05, I reeled in Hibiscus in the Hulbury pier, Corphish was my catch at the Galar Mine 2 (Had to fish since it was the only way I run into a random encounter), and Gardenia was found on the Motostoke Outskirts. Good catches all things considered.

Stay tuned for next chapter, as we dig even more into the lore of this story.

Thanks for reading as always, and I wish you all a nice evening.

Chapter 03 is here.

We return once again to the lair of Wildfire, located on top of a snowy mountain. There, an Inteleos stood in front of a small audience. “Master, I have terrible news.” The Inteleon reported to his superiors. “Agent Hydrangea… has been destroyed.”

Everyone present stood in silence upon hearing the news. “That Raboot sure is something, I’ll give her that.” The Charizard couldn’t help but clap out of respect. “Taking down a tough cookie like Hydrangea takes a lot of guts.”

“She wasn’t alone.” Inteleon commented. “The Raboot got help from members of D.I.G”
“The local guild?” The Duralodon began to shake, upon discovering who were the ones who aided their foe. “Master, I believe we have to strike ri–”

“What’s the hurry, General Hemlock?” The Charizard gave a friendly pat to Duralodon. “There’s no need to rush things. We just sent someone to attack their base, and the problem is solved.” The Fire type then began to think of the perfect person for the job.

“I got it.” The Master then directed his sights at the Inteleon. “T, go and send Agent Snakeroot. He will know what to do.”

“Wait.” The water type was then stopped by a Garbodor. “Don’t forget to give him this.”
The poison type handed over a container filled with a bright red liquid.

“Miss Belladona, what is this liquid if I’m allowed to ask?” The Inteleon sounded concerned.

“A small invention of mine, something that’ll make those stupid bracelets a thing of the past.” The Garbodor was very proud of her creation. “It’s perfectly safe. I even got to test it on some… willing volunteers.”

Job 03: Digging up some dirt

We’re now at the D.I.G headquarters, where Sunny could be found sleeping in an Infirmary.

“Gosh, where am I?” The small Raboot had just woken up, and the first thing she saw was a small Morpeko. “Thank goodness you’re awake Miss Sunny, the chief would like to spe–” The words of the poison type were interrupted by Sunny trying to escape.

“What’s going on here?!!!” Rose arrives at the scene, alongside Jasmine’s team, and immediately recognizes the culprit. “No way, is that you Sunny?” The Raboot also identified the chief, as if the two knew each other.

“I should’ve known you were the one fighting Wildfire.” The Copperajah was disappointed in the fire type. “This isn’t what I hoped for from you.”

“But what did you expect me to do?!!!” Sunny talked back. “You’ve seen what they are capable of. Do you really think I’m gonna stay quiet white they destroy more families?!!” Families? Jasmine was confused about this, and wanted some answers.

“It all started a month ago.” Rose was forced to confess the truth. “I was guarding a group of Pokémon studying the Dyna Energy. Among them… were Sunny’s parents.” As he was narrating, Sunny’s body began to shake a lot.

“Their biggest discovery was the ability to contain the energy into crystals.” Both Sunny and Jasmine took a look at their bracelets, and the crystals they contained. “Which led to the creation of the Bracelets, so people can grow at will for multiple purposes.”

Everyone listened with awe, but they all knew something bad was about to happen.

“But then, Wildfire attacked the facility.” Rose had a hard time retelling this, they could see it by the low tone of his voice. “Only I survived. Everyone else… they were all gone.”

The room fell in silence, nobody said a word after that. The only thing that made noise were a couple of tears. A couple of tears falling from the eyes of Sunny. Sunny, who had to remember the awful experience of her parents being taken from her.

The only thing left of them, their last message to her, was the bracelet.
“This is why we must fight until Wildfire is done for.” Rose, on the other hand, didn’t shed any tears. “So they don’t do this to anyone else.”

Sadly, the moment was short lived. A strong earthquake could be felt within the HQ.

But, this one felt strange: It didn’t feel like the ground was shaking, as is the usual; but instead, it felt like something really was coming towards them, from below the surface. When the underground force reached their location, large circles were formed on the floor.

Everyone stayed away from those circles, due to their high temperature, before they created giant tornadoes of fire. The heat created by these was unbearable for many of the Pokémon present. This was the perfect chance for many Fire types to invade the area without opposition.

Everyone’s trying their best to fend off the invaders, but they can only do so much against the strong heat wave. “Wait a minute, I got it.” Jasmine then picked up the bracelet she held, and threw it at Daisy. “Please, use this to get rid of those tornados.”

The Dreadnaw, who just fend off a Ninetales and an Arcanine, was able to pick up the accessory and use it to grow giant. The first thing she did while in this state is to shoot water from her mouth, into the ground. This not only helps douse the tornadoes of fire, but it also helps defeat some of the fire types invading the area.

But that’s not all, the water began to accumulate inside the holes where the tornados first spawned. And once enough water fell underground, the culprit behind all of this was force to come to the surface and reveal itself: It was none other than a giant Centsikorch.

But, this wasn’t just an ordinary giant Centiskorch; this one looked… different: its skin was lighter, its fire was way more intense, and it had way more legs than usual. But before the two giants could engage in combat, the Centiskorch retreated.

And with all the fire types defeated by Daisy, the fight was over. For now at least.

But this battle wasn’t without a loss: not only is the headquarters in ruins, but a lot of Pokémon didn’t survive the encounter: among the most notable losses were the Guildmaster, and Cosmos the Baltoy.

“Oh my god.” Jasmine, as well as the rest of the team, couldn’t believe what she was seeing. “How, how did this happen?”

“They were attacked by a few Fire Types, they didn’t waste any time.” Rose put a blanket on top of his brother, and his soldier. “They will pay, they will pay for what they’ve done to the people we cherish. Who’s with me?!!!”

The members of the guild were with him, wanting to avenge their dear guildmaster. The only ones who didn’t cheer on were Jasmine’s team, who were still mourning the fall of one of their closest teammates; and Sunny, who just left in anger.

…

We return once again to the lair of Wildfire, where a beaten down Centiskorch struggles to reach the main hall. “How brave of you to show your face here after such a humiliating loss, Agent Snakeroot.” The Charizard commented. “Anything to say for yourself?”

The Centiskorch, however, couldn’t handle it anymore and collapsed on the floor. And as soon as he touched the ground, the fire type began to explode. “What on earth just happened?!!!” General Hemlock was shocked at what he just saw.

“A side effect of my potion.” Belladonna commented in a cold manner. “All of my test subjects suffered a similar problem within 24 hours of drinking the potion. There’s nothing I can do about it.”

“I see.” The Charizard, on the other hand, was intrigued by this discovery. “This will make things a lot more… interesting.”

To be continued…
Sunny the Raboot. Mild Nature, somewhat vain.

Jasmine the Nuzleaf. Lonely nature, likes to fight.
Buttercup the Pancham. Jolly nature, likes to thrash.

Gardenia the Scraggy. Docile nature, sturdy body.
Bryony the Vulpix. Careful nature, a little quick tempered.

Fallen Pokémon

Cosmos the Baltoy. Hasty nature, capable of taking hits.

The secret is out everyone. Now we know why both Rose and Sunn want to take down Wildfire.

Gameplay-wise, this chapter only covers two events: The first Marnie battle (Sunny and Buttercup dealt with that no problem) and the Gym fight with Kabu (Dynamaxed Daisy was more than enough to mop the floor with his team).

But now, into some serious things: we sadly lost Cosmos during the gym trial. You know, the one where we either catch or defeat Pokémon to pass while a trainer messes with us. Cosmos, in this case, was facing a Sizzlipede. He had Ancient Power I think, so a single hit and the bug goes down down. But the trainer had a Salazzle, who use Fake out on us, and Sizzlipede took down our Baltoy with a single Bug Bite.

The first death always hurts, and Cosmos was no exception.

On the bright side, I was able to catch Bryony during the trial.

As for the potion, it basically allows Pokémon to reach their gigantamax forms in the story, while adding a bit more risk to growing giant. Which is gonna come in handy for some characterization I'm planning for Wildfire. We'll learn more about this in the next instalment, so stay tuned.

Thanks for reading as always, and I wish you all a nice evening.

Chapter 04, like you've never seen it b4 XD.

After the attack on the Headquarters, D.I.G had to relocate to a new base located in a remote location, far away from any form of society.

These new headquarters had a training area, where our team had a sparring session between each other: Buttercup was fighting Daisy, while Jasmine fought Ron. However, things felt a tad… silent: nobody dared to say a word, and the mood was on the lower side.

“Buttercup, is everything okay?” The Shiftry was the first one to break the silence.

“This training, is it gonna be enough?” The Pangoro asked. “What if we’re still not strong enough to protect anyone? What if we lose another friend?”
“Are we even protecting people at all?” The Perrserker wondered. “Ever since this whole Wildfire started, I’m not sure if that’s our goal anymore.”

The Dreadnaw didn’t say a word, but she sure was as concerned as the rest of the team.

“I wish I could know the answer, but I’m as clueless as you all.” Jasmine was completely sincere with her reply. “But I’m sure everything’s gonna be okay. I don’t know what lies in the future, but I want to be optimistic. And just… hope for the best.”

“That’s the spirit!!!” A Hattrem, alongside a female Meowstic, arrived at the training area.

“What do you want Plumeria?” Nobody on the team was happy to see the Psychic type, after what happened at Hillbury. “And where is Chief Rose?!!!”

“He’s busy instructing a batch of new recruits, so he put me in charge of this mission.” Plumeria had a huge smile on her face. “Basil spotted that Raboot friend of yours wandering around in Stow-on-Side. And whenever she goes, Wildfire will follow.”

The team reluctantly agreed to head towards the area, with Plumeria and the Meowstic right behind them.
Job 04: Endless Fighting

Stow-on-Side is a small village located on top of a fairly tall mountain. Between the large market stands and ancient looking-houses, lies a small arena: a spot where everyone’s free to fight to their heart’s content.

And right now, there’s a battle taking place there. Or it was, as a Thwakey got knocked out of the arena. “Dear lord, this is getting old.” The winner of this fight was none other than Sunny, who had just evolved into a tough-looking Cinderace. “Tell your boss I’m not gonna join his cause, no matter how many people he throws at me.”

“Sunny, is that you?” Jasmine and company arrived, just as the battle ended. “What are you doing in a place like this?

“What do you think I’m doin? I’m getting stronger.” Sunny was happy to see Jasmine, but her happiness faded away as soon as she spotted Plumeria. “This is my fight, and my fight alone. No one else has to get involved, no else has to be destroyed.”

“That's our contender everybody!!!” A Hitmonlee shouted to everyone present. “But does she stand a chance against our unbeatable champion?!!!”

As soon as the announcer shouted his word, a small army of Fighting type Pokémon began to surround the arena, leaving no place for the team to escape. “Now give it up to our very own Queen of the Ring: Lily, the Machamp!!!”

A Machamp then landed on top of the arena, after jumping off the tallest house in the village.

Everyone was shocked by such a performance. Everyone but Plumeria, who was happy to see her plan coming together. “Sorry guys, but this is where we part.” The Hattrem backed away, as the fighting types began to surround Jasmine’s team, including the Meowstic. “What can I say, Brain and Brawn make quite the… deadly combination.”

The Meowstic, however, was able to act before the fighting types. By using her Psychic powers, she was able to hold the enemies off by shooting a beam of energy: Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, Sirfetch, and a Bewear. They all fell victim to the attack.

The only ones unaffected was another Pangoro, and Lily herself.

“What are you waiting for? Take them down!!!” The Meowstic shouted at her teammates. “I can’t hold them for much longer, so please hurry.” Jasmine’s team followed her orders and began attacking the cronies, while Sunny tried to fight the Machamp.

The Machamp makes the first move and begins slamming her four arms towards the ground, but Sunny was able to dodge her attacks. But when the Cinderace tried to hit back with a kick, the Fighting type grabbed her leg mid attack.

“I got you now.” The lower arms held Sunny in place, while the upper began cracking their knuckles. “No, I got YOU.” Sunny took advantage of the situation, and set her entire body of fire. Lily’s arms couldn’t take the heat, and was forced to let go of her opponent.

Sunny then began punching the Machamp for a while, and was about to knock her out of the arena. “No, I cannot be defeated.” Lily jumped towards the other side of the arena, while grabbing a small canteen from her pocket. “If this is gonna protect my winning streak, so be it.”

The Machamp didn’t hesitate to drink from the canteen, one could see the glowing red liquid she was pouring into her body. Once the bottle was empty, Lily began to not only increase in size, but her body suffered a major transformation: her eyes began to glow with a yellow light, her muscles got bigger, and her hands were bursting with an orange energy.

It was like evolution, but on a smaller scale.

Sunny reacted fast and reached for her bracelet to grow giant as well. But Jasmine’s team, on the other hand, could only stare in awe at this new form. They may have been able to defeat the cronies, but they weren’t sure they could stand a chance against such a threat.

The only one who tried anything was the Meowstic. This time, she subdues the giant with a beam of Psychic energy. She was putting all of her strength into the attack, resulting in the Machamp getting surrounded by the purple energy Sunny continued to punch Lily as many times as she could. “My name… is Lily, the strongest fighter in Stow-on-Side.” The Machamp wasn’t having any of this. “And I am… Invincible!!!”

Using sheer force and willpower alone, she was able to resist the Psybeam. The fighting type then used this opportunity to slam the ground as hard as she could, with all of her arms. Jasmine’s team was able to get out of the area on time, but the Meowstic couldn’t.

By the time she realized her attack was no longer effective, it was already too late.
The team could only watch in horror, as sand blown by the attack covered the tragedy.

This made Sunny angry, and the Cinderace began to charge at the Machamp. She was running so fast, and her body caught so much fire, she became a raging ball of fire. Lily noticed this imminent danger, and tried to block the fireball with her four arms. But she could only hold on for so long, and the fireball eventually hits Lily. Resulting in an explosion so strong it swept everyone there off their feet, but not strong enough to trigger a Rock Slide.

Jasmine and company keep staring in awe, as it was still unclear what happened with the two giants. But when things cleared out, there was only one person standing: Sunny, who jumped out of the area, heading into the unknown. “Hey, let go of me.” The first thing Jasmine’s team did when things calmed down was hunt down Plumeria. Daisy, thankfully, was able to apprehend the Hattrem before she could escape.

“Alright, let’s take her back to base.” The Shiftry wasn’t mad about what happened, just disappointed. “It’s better if Rose deals with this instead.”

My goodness, today we have quite a day. SwSh's pacing is all over the place: a lot of things happen between the third and fourth gym, but it doesn't feel like it at the same time. It's complicated to explain.

Anyways, look at the team list. We tripled the amount of Pokémon we had in the previous update. I did explore the IoA for extra encounters, but there was nothing worth writing afterwards. Klara's fights were super easy, and there was no point in doing the Dojo storyline after getting the Kanto Starter (I can't use Kubfu/Urshifu in the run due to it being a legendary).

I should also mention that the UCL ruleset allows me to catch overworld encounters in the Wild Area after beating a gym leaders. Something I've taken advantage of to get three extra Pokémon. Will I have the chance to use all these Pokémon? With our luck so far, probably.

For this chapter in particular, we cover most of the battles around Stow-on-Side: Hop (Sunny dealt with most of his team, while Daisy beat the Cramorant), and Bede (Daisy bit his Psychic types as is the usual at this point).

But Bea, that's where things got messy: Mary Gold was able to defeat most of her team with either Psybeam or Dissarming Voice, but got injured in the process. She wasn't able to defeat the Gigantamaxed Machamp in one hit, and she was killed by a Max Strike. Sunny was able to defeat the fighting type with a Max Flare, but the damage has already been done.

Finally, I should also explain that the potion Lily used to grow giant is basically Max Soup, only the soup is somehow filled with Dyna energy too.

Stay tuned for the next chapter, as the team keeps dealing with... everything.

Thanks for reading as always, and I wish you all a nice evening.

I should probably mention that I'll be taking a break from updating the UCL the last/first week of each month.

To work on other projects, and to avoid burn out.

Thank you all for your consideration, we'll be back next week with a new chapter.
