Before we move on, there's a couple of things I want to take care of.
I finally figured out an easy way to evolve Joan, and I want to catch some of the others up along the way.
First off, giving Karen this...which is only gonna enhance her Karen tendencies
Then I had her yoink a Leek.
*screeching*
Stop that.
Then I taught Joan this and gave her the Leek.
And after bashing this thing to pieces...
Tada~
But she hasn't really been in that many battles...
Also, 258 pounds??? Those must be some heavy weapons ._.
I don't remember if I had her learn this or not. I think I put it over Focus Energy, but I'm not 100% sure.
That Attack

Not sure whether her or Rocky will go on the final team, but we'll see.
Then I actually went back to the Wild Area to do a little grinding and some items.
An easy Max Raid with Kristin got us some goodies.
Then I realized I could get a catch in this section now. The Steelix was tempting, but I thought it might be too strong, so I decided to try the grass instead...
...I wish you'd have come along earlier :c
Figured burning it would be the safest play.
And I think I was right
But it all worked out.
Also gonna evolve DJ while we're here.
That is terrifying

Especially since it looks so innocent...granted, I don't think it means to hurt anyone.
Like I said, I really wish you'd have showed up earlier, because I don't need a third Fighting-type...but you have the good ability, so we'll see.
(Wasn't really sure what to name her, and this was literally a few minutes after fighting Bea, so...yeah.)
Karen tried to learn this, but like I told Connor when he tried to learn it, I'm not good at predicting, so no thanks.
*offended gasp*
No, you do not get to talk to the manager.
Then I figured I'd give Serena a shot.
...that's a promising start!
This might sound weird, but seeing my 'mons reach 100 HP feels like a significant milestone, especially in a Nuzlocke, and since so many of them are doing so at around the same time.
Joan isn't letting up with the crits, which is making her a more tempting option, but I still really like Rocky's coverage.
AAAAAAAAAAA

(Even though Steelix isn't that strong, it is still terrifying-imagine this thing sneaking up on you.)
Tranquills were the best things I could find to grind on, since they give decent EXP and Doug can KO them easily with Rock Tomb.
No and no. Slam is arguably one of the worst moves in the game,
especially on something with Hustle since its shitty accuracy gets even worse. And Counter is way too situational.
I did another raid battle after that:
I swear G-Mr. Mime is one of the funniest alt forms. Do you think it's less creepy than the Kanto version or more?
It was actually pretty intense, although that's a good start. I also appreciated the Clefairy using Follow Me so I don't have to worry about Kristin as much.
BURN TO THE GROUND~
*grumble*
This is a good position, though-even if I don't move first, I break the shield this turn.
I forgot to mention multi-star raid 'mons also do this every so often. It's more annoying than anything unless your strategy relies on buffing your stats or nerfing the enemy's.
Again, BURN TO THE GROUND~
So close...but that gives it a -2 to both defense stats, so it should go down next turn.
*unimpressed face*
*even more unimpressed face*
*
even more unimpressed face*
Not good, but luckily we can still lose three more 'mons as long as none of them are Kristin.
Unfortunately, that was the end of her Dynamax (I forget what happened the third turn). But since it's still at -2, one Flamethrower should kill anyway.
Of course, this was targeted at me
*unimpressed face intensifies*
And then it finally burned to the ground. Psychic is nice, although I was really hoping for an Ice move-that was the whole reason I took it on
Why did they decide Machoke/champ needed a black Speedo? Should've given them normal wrestling trunks, it'd look better IMO.
Back to grinding.
Yay~
...what are those?
Meh, too situational. There's probably some big brain play that uses them, but it's not for me.
...that's old o_o
Tempting...
...but I don't really know what I'd dump. Maybe later?
More swapping.
Excadrill is a 'mon I wish I got to use more. It's a shame it's such a bitch to find :c
A little bit later, I got another surprise...
I had no idea Salandit evolved at 33-I thought it was a little later.
But now we have the questionable-looking lizard. I just hope she doesn't try to seduce Connor...although thinking about it, with him basically being the James Bond Pokémon, it might work.
*seductive growl*
Control yourself, young lady.
For a second, I was wondering "if there are only females, how do they reproduce?" but then I remembered egg groups, so that answered that question.
...when you think about it, Salazzle's literally the reverse harem 'mon
That could be useful. It's hilarious to me that freaking
Heatmor had a signature move for all of one generation.
Sweet Scent can go away. Also that's an interesting ability-might be fun to play with later.
I decided that was a reasonable point to stop grinding at and grab my team for the next gym. Karen should be evolving soon, and hopefully Edgar does before Opal as well.
On the way back, I found out the bargain seller had something that could come in handy, although it's kind of gross...
It fits Ozzy though.
Off to the creepy forest.
Not sure why people love this area so much-I don't really care for it.
You can interact with these mushrooms for some extra light. Kind of reminds me of Forever Forest from Paper Mario 64, which I did like, so I'm not sure why I don't like this area...
One thing I do know is that I
probably won't be able to make a catch here, since I think everything here is part-Fairy. Not that I'm hurting for catches, but it's too bad there isn't even one available non-Fairy 'mon...
But at least we can fight trainers.
I already said that! I just hope they aren't psychedelic shrooms ._.
One of the chef trainers should've been named Gordon, especially since this is a British-based region
Wow, he has
three 'mons! This might be interesting!
Which is a shame tbh-not sure why the developers are allergic to giving other trainers more than one or two. It works in Legends, but in the modern games it's boring.
So close...
Attract is such a WTF move, and this is an even more WTF image-it's literally a blob of cream, how can you be in love with it, Ozzy?
Also, I feel like by now it should be able to work on 'mons of the same gender. It's 2022, being gay or bi is much more common/accepted than it was in 1996. Although that raises the question-what would determine a 'mon's orientation?
Luckily, Ozzy realized this relationship makes no sense and took it out.
Then he sent in a teacup 'mon...I feel the British intensifying
Hng why did it have to hold on with 1 HP...
This is one of those abilities that seems really situational.
And this was not the right situation for it.
Wow, that is a shitty EXP yield.
This is a perfect matchup for Serena.
4x Poison weakness ftw~
Which got Connor a level.
Unfortunately, in this region, you're probably right :c
"-good curry if I find any."
Again, I really hope they aren't psychedelic mushrooms
Ugh Impidimp is a gross design. Its evos are fine, but it looks like a naked monkey, which is kind of ew.
Circling around to the item...
Ooh, that could be useful. You never know when that lower accuracy might save a 'mon.
Now to the right.
Those could also be handy.
So could that, if I get any HP-draining moves. Does it work on Drain Punch?
*checks*
Oh, it does. Might give it to Rocky later.
No, I don't want Bede's Pokémon.
I'll take the level though.
Meh. Another one of those overly situational moves.
But those are nice.
Finally another trainer, and we already know that!
I still wonder why Indeedee isn't a Galarian form of Audino, or an evolution of it.
Wrong move to use on Karen, it's just gonna make her mad.
*screeching*
See?
And that's gonna escalate it further...
Ow.
*louder screeching*
I'm glad I'm not on the receiving end of that
How much longer until she evolves? I don't know for sure because I've never used one and Jupiter is a cheating hacker
*holds up one finger*
Oh, okay. Although did you have to steal my phone again?
*holds up hands, with no phone in sight*
...*checks pocket, finds phone*
Huh.
NO NO NO! We aren't learning any suicide moves!
I decided to let Doug fight the second one.
Disarming Voice didn't do much, and he nearly one-shotted it.
But then the battle got really annoying. This was a Confusion/Psybeam, which did a little more damage, but not too bad.
The problem is, Doug got confused, and of course hit himself.
Luckily after a couple turns, he pulled through and took it out.
I do know Edgar evolves in one level.
You don't look very sad...
Yes, yes.
Since Connor and Edgar are already almost at the next gym level (38), I decided to swap them out for a bit, especially since Drake and Clair need so much exp to evolve.
See, a much better design than Impidimp.
It's also too high level to fight.
Finally managed to cap the hidden item sparkle.
The heck is that?
...oh, another one of those situational items. No thanks.
That on the other hand, is much more useful!
Double battle~
Also that is extremely corny.
I would hope they can.
"Daring Couple"? What's daring about them?
Interesting choices. I have to ask why you didn't evolve the Kirlia though.
That is a hilarious image. The Ralts line are not 'mons I can see being rockers (
maybe Gallade?)
One of these 'mons is not like the others~
*barfs on them*
Ew. What the heck were you guys doing that made him sick? Or was he just rocking too hard?
It did good damage for being split between two 'mons though.
The Ninetales didn't do nearly as well, because it's not Kristin.
And then Karen took out the Kirlia, freeing Ozzy to hit the Ninetales with this next turn.
Lucky!
It wasn't super necessary though, but the crit might have been, so well done.
So close...
Good luck with that.
I guess if it helps?
You're making me want to ride one, but I don't know if I'll ever get the chance :c
Everyone is amazing in their own way, unless you did something terrible.
So I
thought there weren't any possible catches in here, but...
It turns out the teacup 'mon is a rare find here, and it's pure-Ghost, so it's legal per my rules.
Annoying thing.
Hopefully this doesn't take it out...
...that was close
But we got it in the end.
Which got Karen (and Doug)
just enough exp to level.

I just hope the screeching doesn't intensify further...
Ew, gross x_x
Oh, nice!
I shouldn't need Thief anymore, but we can always put it back on later. Also, insert flaming farts joke.
I swear this is the most British Pokémon imaginable

Also, is it the teacup or the tea itself?
I might throw it on later, but not right now. I didn't check which form it is, not that it really matters.
(I was really struggling for a name...if you stretch I guess we'll say it's a reference to
the actress?
)
And that's the exit. We'll check out Ballonlea next time.
