shit. this is honestly a really good argument. even if it's all bullshit i still think it deserves at least one swayed vote - but then we end up with a tie.
From my point of view, we have a few options here:
The vote lands on Entity
They're Mafia, Village wins
They're village
We go to the night phase, either myself or Gar gets NK'd.
D5, it is Purpl, Yume, and one of Gar or me. The votes presumably go between Purpl & Yume, with the last person living as the tiebreaker. I'm not sure who has the more compelling argument skills here. Presuming Purpl is mafia, this might be one of the easier wincons for him.
The vote lands Purpl
He's mafia, village wins
He's village
Same as above, but we probably all vote for Entity anyways and are presumably correct.
The vote ties
Maf will take out either myself or Gar for the NK, bring it down to Entity, Purpl, Yume, and Gar/myself. I presume the thread goes back to Entity v Purpl, with perhaps a look at Yume. I don't know who wins here.
this is also discounting the potential of Gar or myself as maf stringing everyone along, but since we seemed to have hit a consensus on our villager-ness it doesn't matter to count it imo.
However, this puts me in a bind - because tying is probably our worst option - but if I do what I want to do and vote Purpl, then we end up locked there.
ugh.
To me, part of it is that we have slightly less to lose voting for Purpl, then Entity. Because if Entity is so sus through their own inactivity, then that makes them a safer bet for being Mafia - and we can afford one last mislynch.
...you know what? I'm going to gamble on this.
Vote: Purpl
@Garish Garchomp@YumeTsuki look over the arguments and evidence and make the choice on who to vote for yourself, just please make a vote one way or the other before we run out of time
I know Entity voted for me but that doesn't upset me. However I don't like that Entity says my posts don't have a whole lot of substance :(
I can understand the misdirection thing but I've made posts like examining NL vs Lynch D1, talking about the scenarios involving doc claiming and reasoned out why zcorge/ gar maf claiming doc didn't make sense (after I made the scum hunt saying they were sus of course. It is in the trash).
I actually was going to go even more into detail about the scenarios involving doc claiming but I ran out of steam before I got it done and most people would have gotten lost in all that text anyways.
yeah it's not worth it if doc protected the same person twice
you know what I just realized it's possible that doc could have protected estra N1. And if protected people die before doc claim then that's bad.
Like if the person who was protected last night gets lynched or night killed later then that would be bad because then we just lose info. And we can't rely on doc being so godly as to protect someone a third time in my opinion.
If doc protected two different people then there's a 1/3 chance in doc dying tonight. And if we mislynch a potential candidate it's 1/2.
If doc protected the same person twice or protected estra and someone else then it's a 1/4 chance and if we mislynch a potential candidate it's 1/3.
So let's go through different scenarios.
Maf gets lynched today: Doc protected the same person and doc doesn't reveal, lynch maf
Doc does the right thing and doesn't reveal, and luckily we lynch a maf. We are now 5/1 split and after NK 4/1. Now maf has 1/4 chance to hit doc. Doc could come forward and claim if they are still alive but it won't matter because maf will also claim doc. Then it becomes a 50/50 on if you hit maf or doc or win/lose. Doc protected two different people and doc doesn't reveal, lynch maf
We decide to wait until later to ask doc to reveal. Luckily we lynch a maf. We are now 5/1 split and after NK 4/1. Now maf has 1/3 chance to hit doc. Doc could come forward and claim if they are still alive but it won't matter because maf will also claim doc. Then it becomes a 50/50 on if you hit maf or doc or win/lose. Doc protected the same person and doc reveals, lynch maf
Doc reveals anyway, most likely because maf claims before getting lynched. However we guess right. Now we have 1 village clear. Doc will be the NK, lowering the split to 4/1. We now have a 1/4 chance to hit maf because one person is cleared. NL will not change the percentage because NK will be the cleared person. Doc protected two different people and doc reveals, lynch maf
We decide to ask doc to reveal if they protected two different people, and they do along with maf. However we chose right and a maf is lynched. Now we have 2 village clears. Doc will be the NK, lowering the split to 4/1. We now have a 1/3 chance to hit maf because two people are cleared. NL will not change the percentage because NK will be a cleared person.
Maf does not get lynched today: Doc protected the same person and doc doesn't reveal, mislynch- not doc candidate
Doc does the right thing and doesn't reveal, but unluckily we mislynch. However it was already someone who was protected by doc, and maf don't get any more information. It is now 3/2 split after NK. Maf has 1/4 chance to hit doc.
If doc is alive they can come forward and claim- and maf will also claim doc. Then it becomes a 50/50 on if you hit maf or doc or win/lose. If village chooses correctly maf gets lynched and the split will be 2/1. There will be one person who is cleared and it will become another 50/50 for who is the second maf.
If maf gets the NK on doc then there is no claim and there is 2/3 chance to hit maf or lose. If maf is lynched then split after NK becomes 2/1 and hitting maf is 1/3 chance or lose. Doc protected the same person and doc doesn't reveal, mislynch- doc candidate
Doc does the right thing and doesn't reveal, but unluckily we mislynch. And it was someone not blocked by doc. It is now 3/2 split after NK. Maf has 1/3 chance to hit doc.

Maf have 1/3 chance of hitting doc regardless of lynch. Doc protected two different people and doc reveals, mislynch- doc candidate
yeah that was a lot and people already didn't want to claim anyways. (plus doc protected the same person twice so it wouldn't have gone anywhere to say "hey doc claim but only if you protected two different people").
The biggest part of Entity's scum hunt revolves around me reading Leon as village the whole game until he claims doc. I then 360 and it makes sense that this could be bussing if me and Leon are maf.
One of the big problems is that Leon chose me as the person he blocked twice. I already said in a past post that it could have been to get me on his side, but either way if I'm maf he just put me into the spotlight. To quote Yume:
If i was a maf pretending to be doc i would personally point out someone else, in case i get caught. Other maf can choose to back me up, and the innocent party is more likely to back me up too since they know their doc is correct about their alignment because... well duh. Mafia knows who is good and who is bad.
Thats 3 votes in favor of maf at that point. And a very likely free lynch for them. And a nk on top of that too...
Leon should have picked someone else to "heal" if I'm maf because not only does it put me into the spotlight but also there isn't a village to help with the vote. Zcorge and Gar already were going to vote for Leon so he needed a village to help. Which, because I wasn't sus of Leon the whole game makes sense to try to get me to do.
But I don't have to use that point if it isn't strong. Leon misplayed so it may have not been optimal in the first place. And putting me as the "healed" works if wifom is used. Maf wouldn't do that, but that might be what maf wants you to think.
Also I'll get into the bad reason why I never sussed Leon. It's because Leon said that he doesn't have confidence in who he votes because it's usually wrong.
I know we're 90 minutes short to phase change, but considering every of my blunders in Re:Verse and Pirates, I refuse to give a strong opinion considering each and every one of my reads has been completely wrong.
wait, that's everyone. And I have no one to be sus of.
I don't really want to cast a vote, but at the same time I definitely don't want a NL, so where do we go from here?
Man that's exactly what happened to me in Pirates! I made this whole scum hunt in pirates where I got to the end and I had no one as maf so I came up with MrE being maf which was wrong. Oh and don't forget how I got the jester hat from 999 maf.
I kinda attached to that because as you can see that's what I do a lot. However it sucks that the person who said it was maf.
As I'm making this Anya just made their post and voted me. And I do have to say- if Entity is maf then it makes sense to vote for me before them. If they are maf then I have nothing to worry about being voted this round so I'll make it easier on the tie:
Unvote: Entity
However, if Yume is maf then I'm setting up village for failure. And that scares the fuck out of me. But I will put trust in Yume. If Yume is maf she played a crazy game. Also it'll be nice because I'll be dead and I won't have to worry about it anymore.
Purpl: I realize the whole voting himself could just be a dumb low-stakes bluff in early game. But this Entity unvote here feels fucking wild to me. It's either a crazy ballsy bluff as maf or just another in a long line of lowkey weird plays or reads as vil. Entity does make some very good arguments here, but I kinda can't shake the feeling that Purpl is merely a confused villager with a lot of effort and, frankly, some real bad reads. But maybe that's just bc I can relate to that lmao.
The whole thing with Leon protecting Purpl in his doc cc... that was honestly such a weird play I don't know how to look into it. Bc it could be a double bluff outing your partner bc he totally wouldn't just out his partner, would he???, but also, I do also think it could have just been trying to woo Purpl to his side and scrambling for someone other than Gar as a protection target.
Yume: I hate how the consensus here is just "well if she's maf then she played a great game." And that's it! No further questions??? Look further at this great game! Thing is though, there's (perhaps purposefully) not a hella lot further to look into. Meaning, she's very rarely tipped her hand on any real opinions. This post is basically all there is up to this point: Estra as top sus (and later, first vote on Estra right after the whole Leon/zcorge thingy), Entity is neutral bc low activity but I detect a hint of sus on them there, and Zcorge is giving not-good weird vibes. Beyond that, her posts up until this last one have just about all been discussing strategy rather than any suses.
It makes me the tiniest bit uneasy, then. Because I do think she's atm the most vil of the three for all the strat discussion and vibes, but it gets me wondering if it was deliberate about not expressing opinions and just kinda discussing maths and letting things play out (since maf really could have just let us dig our own graves this whole game). Stilllll there's a reason it's between the other two today. Good play this game, Yume.
Entity: Again, not much in the way of actual opinions until this scumhunt that finally arrived. I don't think the day 1 vote choices (floor/anya/estra) come into play much because of their reasoning, they're the ones they've played with before. Continues Estra sus to D2, late Estra train on vote despite lightened read, goes against Leon's cc and votes him, and now this scumhunt/purpl takedown.
Like, there's overlap with all three of you. All of you were in some form against Estra on the one day where I feel the vote is truly instructive, and all were pretty effortless in rebuffing Leon on his counterclaim. It comes down to Purpl and all his activity and things to pick at, versus Entity and Yume being relatively quiet and not having much to pick at. Then it comes down to tomorrow, after maf does one last NK to try to set themselves up with a vil of choice to convince, put themselves in the best position to win.
I absolutely do not want a tie. That said... I'm trying to think of what could make for the best scenario going into the final day. And rn for what I'm thinking, I've felt Vote: Entity for a while and I feel it right now and that's what I'm putting down with some time left on the clock. That puts us at a tie rn. There's still time for us to go one way or another.

i don't disagree with basically anything else in the post (if it turns out to be yume i will scream) but yes i think that's exactly what happened. Keep in mind Leon also voted for gar in his post rather than anya so it's not too far out to think he tried to double bluff (or singular bluff idk) by making everyone doubt he'd bring Purpl into the limelight. It makes more sense to choose two different targets to be more believable, that way you'd still gain potential trust from Purpl and another potential person. claiming to have protected Purpl twice in a row makes more sense if you're trying to deliberately put purpl into the conversation and rule them out
Yeah I don't get that either. Leon could have said he protected Anya D1 then me D2 and that would make it look more reasonable. If we are to believe I am the one gaslighting then this is under the assumption that I'm playing crazy 4D chess. Tbf that also applies to Yume but that's all wifom anyways.
Edit: to elaborate Yume is the one to come to the conclusion that maf is likely pointing out village, but that doesn't mean the argument isn't there by any means. It could be that Yume was wrong and I pulled a double bluff on purpose.

Oh yeah nah like... if anyone was gonna be involved in a bluff like that, it would be Purpl. Bc if he is maf, dude has been pouring it on with those in some really bizarre (and fun!) ways. I think Leon should have just said he was protecting Anya both days, as that's much more believable (or, like you said, Anya/Purpl). Saying he protected Purpl both times is either the big bluff with both as maf, or Leon trying to hard-sell him on his side of a risky counterclaim. Like, I'm not ruling Purpl out, you legitimately brought up great points. I can't rule anyone out man, I'm shook. So I just personally feel like this is the way to go rn.
It was a beautiful day in the small town of Camden, and everyone was ready to celebrate the capture of the final mafia member. Anya Homura, Garish Garchomp, Purpl, and YumeTsuki all gathered in front of the town square, cheering for justice to be served. But there was one problem, Unprocessed Entity was nowhere to be found.
The town searched high and low for Unprocessed Entity, but they could not locate them. Suddenly, a loudspeaker turned on and Earl Hickey's voice boomed through it. "Hello Camden, this is Earl Hickey. I'm here to tell you that Unprocessed Entity has a $10,000 bounty on their head. If anyone can bring them to justice, they'll be rewarded with the cash prize." The town erupted in cheers, and everyone started searching even harder for the elusive mafia member.
As the day turned to night, the town started to give up hope. That was until they heard a loud banging sound coming from the town hall. They rushed over, and there was Unprocessed Entity, tied up in a chair. "How'd you catch 'em?" asked Purpl. "It was all thanks to my list," replied Earl, who was standing in the shadows. "I put Unprocessed Entity on my list, and karma did the rest."
The town cheered as they prepared to carry out the final sentence. But before they could, they heard a loud crash, and the doors burst open. It was Akane, who had teamed up with the mafia all along. "You fools, I was the real mastermind behind this operation. And now, I'll be taking my revenge on all of you." But before Akane could say another word, Kesha burst through the window and delivered a swift karate chop to the head, knocking Akane out cold. The town rejoiced, and Earl Hickey grinned in the shadows, proud that he had helped the town achieve justice.
Normally I have more to say at the conclusion of mafia games, but it's been evident I haven't been as present for these games as I usually am. I think it's a sign that I need to take a break from mafia for some time. My comments on Earl and Crab Maf are kind of straightforward.
For Crab Maf: I think Akane and Zaa kinda just got really unlucky with how Day 1 shook out. Both got sussed for very little and it happened to be correct, it's hard to turn that around in a vanilla-ish game of this size.
For Earl Maf: Similarly bad luck for mafia, excellent protections from zcorge. It's always a shame when irl makes it tougher to be maf. The main thing other than #docsweep that really stood out to me was how hesitant players were in general to place votes, like I think it's much better to place a vote that you are willing to change early in the phase than it is to not vote at all until crunchtime before phase change. If a vote is wrong, so what? Your opinions over the course of 48 hours should be changing, and the journey is often as important as the destination.
Also I'm honestly a bit surprised that the tiebreaker scenario never came up. Glad village was cognizant enough in both games to avoid it, but I was kinda hoping it would happen (whether on purpose or accident).
ChatGPT for flavor was an excellent idea and if/when I do host another game I would probably use it again.
