As long as we’re at Rivet Ravine, we may as well poke around. There’s a new Pay-to-Dig site that’s opened--let’s find it!
That’s expensive, but Benji can probably afford it. I say ‘probably’ because he still has 60k worth of Oasis Seeds to buy.
Okay fine, I GUESS it was worth it. And dang, would it kill the game to give me a non-Earth type for once? I want more fire friends…
My encounter is Pachrino! But since we didn’t get the head the first time, they will probably never be revived. I don’t want to pay again.
Turns out those random tasks were enough to get the first oasis built, nice! Now, while I could get an encounter right now, I’m going to wait. T-rex fossils don’t become available until all four oases are built, you see.
Speaking of, time to get on that.
Grinding for more cash and also trying to get Cyro’s head. Coldfeet Glacier has plot, but it’s not accessible until after the Parchment Desert has been wrapped up, so it’s mostly just boring for now.
There we go! Let’s meet Benji’s new friend!
It’s Cyro! Cyro has a pretty neat gimmick in that it can poison AND prevent switches. I’ve never really used one, though.
Your name shall be Jean and you shall hang out in the VMM.
Oh also we made money. Now that we have… I am making the executive decision that it’s machine TIME. Haha get it. Get it ‘cause it’s a time machi--
Aaand we’re back. Hi Rosie! Hi Duna!
The time machine hits the ground running, putting us right back into the action! This time, we’ll be taking Duna along, to see what sort of differences there are.
Rosie takes it well. I’m starting to wonder if this particular scene is why I never liked her much as a kid. It really does feel like it just throws her character development out the window for a second there.
First major difference: Dynal didn’t give Duna a communicator or a stone sleep device. You’ll see why.
Duna knows a lot more about Guhnash than Rosie did. It makes sense, considering the Dinaurians have been studying Guhnash for millions of years.
… Wait. Guhnash has been alive for, at minimum, 500 million years. How does that track.
This is a standout character moment for Duna. Probably my favorite scene of her in the game.
This fight is unchanged from how it appeared in the finale, so please just imagine that battle.
And now we’re done.
Duna you say that so casually. It’s very funny compared to how Rosie reacts to learning this.
Duna, presumably, has some sort of device on her that would normally work with the teleporter. I bet Diggins modified her personal teleportation device for it.
I dunno, Duna, stone doesn’t have a very high blast resistance in Minecraft…
Aaand that was the Guhnash fight. Let’s check out the aftermath.
Guhnash ruins things in every timeline. So… what happened?
… Oh…
I wonder what made Dynal decide to change his mind. We agreed to let the Dinaurians stay on the planet!
Yeah… Benji was lucky.
Wouldn’t it be better to do your search here? Your planet is gone, right? What technology will you find out there, beyond the stars? After all, on Earth...
… You may find help from an unusual place.
Wait, you don’t??????? How?????
Okay who taught the Chieftain slang, I just want to talk.
(I think I know who it was. We’ll talk in Champions)
That’s right, the Hip-Shaker Dance TRANSCENDS TIMELINES. It’s that important.
Alright, alright, it’s worth a shot!
And she’s back! Hello, Duna.
And the credits start to roll! Remember that Duna scene we had during them last time? It’s not here now. Instead, there’s a scene focused on Rosie.
I missed the screenshot but she did, in fact, say diga.
It’s unfortunate for Rosie, but at least she isn’t being harassed by some creeps. And that’s why you should always pick Duna to join you when fighting Guhnash, the end.
Wait, no, THAT’s the end.
And--oh. Oh ho HO I forgot that THIS was how you got the brains..!
So I guess I have these now. I’ll be taking name suggestions! Bonus points if their names are connected in some way, I don’t care how.
Back to business as usual now.
Now, let’s see how that Oasis Seed is coming along!
Oh. I… forgot to plant it. Wonderful.
Welp. Guess it’s time to screw around for a few dozen more screens.
There we go! And now Benji has the money to buy the last two Oasis Seeds as well, awesome!
If they taste that good you should start selling them. Fund your OWN Oasis Seeds!
You can, uh, buy this now. If you want to for some reason.
We’ll end this part with a quick battle against Diggins! Seems like the right thing to do.
Okay yeah those are pretty good credentials, actually.
Sopteryx my beloved
That Evasion boost is really annoying but this is going to take… a while.
Now that’s just rude!
Thanks, Ducky, that was actually about what I wanted from you.
Just getting some cool action shots in, because those are rad.
Nice. All according to plan.
Ducky, obliterate!
I love it when the enemy can barely hit me. It’s great.
Oi could you nOT
Well, at least Ducky, uh, tried. And I’m honestly surprised that Scale managed to hit Allo with that.
Ducky swapped out in confusion and now Scale is here. This is actually fine, since Stego still has its attack and defense debuffs.
Hey, that was a healing move! Why do I never get any healing moves?!
Scale did a surprising chunk of damage, but now I’ll let Dune do her thing.
This team being able to use Team Skills is honestly a lifesaver, it’s saved my bacon so many times.
Confusion switch forced Dune into the front, which is definitely not an ideal setup.
Finally. Now I can consistently HIT my ATTACKS.
Dune went down, but defeats only count in the event of a full wipe so we’re all good.
I… Stego I hate you.
Some time later… Allo is down. Wonderful.
Thanks, I won’t!
Back at Parchment Desert… almost there.
And with that planted, it’s time to end the part! Join me next time where we finally do some fun stuff at the new Dig Sites.
