Why does it say that there is a 19th page but won't let me go to it?
Edit: also this post appeared on the 18th page.

Because my stupid phone pressed “comment” instead of “reply”. It’s hard to type with a phone.

Sorry for deleting the prior post, but typing on a phone is hard.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that sports as a whole carries risk, and the many people who play to either follow dreams or have fun assume that risk - from the football and hockey players with CTE (and I agree that older players with CTE should be heavily compensated.) to a teammate of mine in basketball who broke his leg and appeared at school joking and asking people to sign his cast.

To play sports is to assume risk of injury to yourself or others.
That doesn't mean that we shouldn't talk about those risks and raise awareness of them, so people can make educated decisions on what to play and whether to (try to) make a career out of it.

And a fair bit - if not a lot - of football players nowadays come from nothing or with a single parent.

Yes, education is important, but players ignore and/or assume risks for various reasons, from pee-wee to middle school, to high school, to the lucky college, all the way to the even luckier pros. And while we can teach players the risk to their minds and bodies, we ultimately can’t stop the vast majority who want to play the sport for whatever reasons.

Tl;dr people assume risks with sports of all kinds, and while we can educate them on the risks, they can make their own choices.

Apologies again for potential thread derailment. I’ve said my piece.
