Woo, deathless first gym battle! Honestly, I was scared when that Electrode came out. Like, I get that it fits the theme of the gym, but they're really throwing an illegal fully evolved Pokemon at you in the first gym fight?
As of right now? I'd give her a nice solid B- entirely because she betrayed her friend to give me an advantage in our battle. This grade may or may not lower due to future circumstances though.

It's a real shame this game doesn't have Crests like Rejuvenation.
Meganium gets even more bulk added there.
If held by a Meganium this item reduces the damage taken by Meganium and any double battle ally by 20%. It also recovers 1/16 of both Pokémon's maximum HP at the end of each turn (as if both Pokémon were holding Leftovers).

Same - I've played this game dozens of times and the info's so readily available I don't think there's an issue with keeping info on the Field Effects on hand.
It doesn't hurt to know what seed should be given to a Pokemon or what moves to avoid.
Your are the best pokemon for this gym. And this is a incredible surprise for first timers. But lightningrod for this gym ? it makes some of the worried gone just like that.

See, as wild as raiding that Rocket Hideout in Johto with Lance is, at least it's framed as a melancholic thing to be causing the Electrode to blow up! You know, that it's evil for Team Rocket to be using Pokemon as a power source. (Although Amphy exists. Although I guess Amphy isn't a "power source" so much as a "safety measure.")
I assume that Reborn is following the somewhat-of-a-tradition of having electric type trainers named after musicians? (i.e: the MusicianGuitarist trainer class, which often uses electric type Pokemon)

I also recently found out the final update for Pokemon Reborn is in motion, and... I have some thoughts. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO ADD AN ENTIRELY NEW CHARACTER AMETHYST!?WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO HURT ME THIS WAY!?!?!

N because Pika's entirely biased, and Bianca because unlike most of the other rivals Pika has had Bianca was the only one to not kill a 'mon.

Basil's just happy to have a trainer, Dusty believes in the good of others (she's also really naive), Mill has a constant food supply, Flute's getting to see the city and wouldn't know how to survive on her own, and Triton and Diamond have their own reasons that haven't been covered just yet.

Growing up my nickname was "Katie" but my mom always called me "Katie-Bug" so I think parents just always have to make nicknames longer than they need to be.

I LOVE abilities that completely nullify an entire type - especially when that Pokemon is typically weak said type.

We should never underestimate my ability to lose a starter; my previous two were both lost to Gym Leaders in which they should have been good against.
It was certainly a close call.
Triton was thankfully immune thanks to the field effect making explosive moves gain the electric-typing, but Flute would have been dead meat if that thing had gone off

The boosted HM moves in Drayano hacks were a nice convenience feature for games where HMs were mandatory, but I'd much rather be allowed to replace them at will!

I'm with you on that though, I think Reborn likes to try and stick to some themes from the main games - I guess this is one of them!
It's incredibly easy to sweep this Gym with just the free Kricketune that almost everyone will pick up, so I guess it makes sense to have something to counter it. Even if it's annoying
Sonic Boom combined with explosions and all electric-type moves getting a boost makes this Gym terrifying if you don't have a solid counter.

Alright this one has a bit of a story attached to it.
So when I was about... 15? My sister and I were doing homework on my aunt's bed when, out of no where, my sister proclaims "there's an emu outside!" Now, being the skeptical teenager that I was I didn't believe her. So I looked towards the see-through sliding door that led outside to see a large bird standing there. So I calmly told her "that's not an emu, that's a peacock" and went back to my work.
I then immediately looked back up because I just realized that there was a whole ass peacock standing outside.
Anyway, the peacock ended up hanging around and lived with us for a few years - my sister decided to name it Penelope.
So I thought since peacocks have major gender differences, and Unfezant also have major gender differences - I'd name this Pidove in memory of Penelope the peacock!
... So uh, what's up with the small glowing star sitting in the corner?

That is a major problem that I have with most Nuzlockes, the point of a rivalry is supposed to be friendly competition (unless you're playing gen 1 or 2). There is NOTHING friendly about your supposed friends killing your pokemon. It's such a stigma to me that I'm actually more likely to lose a mon from a random route trainer than anyone important I'm THAT paranoid about it.
Now, see, Pika, this is why you shouldn't always chase after moving boxes. Not that I expect her to learn anything close to a permanent lesson from this.
i feel like the only thing the evil team has to do to defeat Pika is just to lure her into an active volcano by putting a steady stream of pokemon eggs in a path directly into it.
