Welcome to the wacky and wonderful ride that is Pokemon Reborn!
Now I can hear you all crying out: "Pika!What the hell is wrong with you!?" And I understand. But you can't stop me.
For years victory over this game (in the form of a nuzlocke) has eluded me! That all ends now. For I will be conquering this beast once and for all, and I'm taking each and every one of you down with me.
Now before we officially get started there's a few things to cover.
First, this is the third entry in my nuzlocke series - yes at this point it's a series. My Sinnoh run came first, and then it was followed by my Blaze Black run. Now, you should be able to follow along well enough if you haven't read my previous runs, but a few things might confuse newcomers. For context: I recommend at least going over the epilogue for my Sinnoh run, then the last chapter and first part of the epilogue for Blaze Black. They should provide enough context to be able to follow along.
Second, this game is very mature and contains some pretty sensitive material.
I'll add to this list if anything else comes up.
Depiction of suicide
Child abuse/neglect
Toxic Relationships
Violence
Strong Language
Reference to drug/alcohol use
And other common mature themes
Reborn can get very dark at points, if you feel like any of these subjects could upset you I recommend caution.
There's a lot of other fun runs out there; if this one's not for you then there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!
And finally, I can say the 'fuck' word now. No one can stop me.
Now that the important stuff is outta the way, let's get into the nitty gritty!
1. If a Pokemon faints - it's dead. No second chances.
. If I still have Pokemon in the PC I can rebuild and continue after a wipe.
2. Only the first wild Pokemon can be caught for each area.
. I cannot capture Pokemon that have already been caught, or members of their evolutionary family. If a Pokemon like this is encountered, I lose my encounter and cannot look for a new one.
. Gift/Static Clause - Gift Pokemon can be accepted and used freely, static encounter Pokemon can also be used freely if captured. The above capture rule is also still in place for static/gift 'mons, no dupes.
. Bernag Clause - every fourth Gym (4, 8, 12, 16) I will be given a random shiny gift 'mon if I am able to earn the Badge.
3. Nickname all of your Pokemon, show them you love them!
4. Set battle style or death baby!
. Literally, if I white out I have to change the battle style back to switch style.
5. No legendaries... except for Type Null/Silvally. They don't count. No other exceptions!
One minute you're minding your own business, getting ready to go hunt down the eco-terrorists in Hoenn, and the next you've got a one-way ticket to your grave.

Minor Edit: Originally Pika mentioned going to Kanto instead of Hoenn, but since the time I posted this chapter I've done a bit more fleshing out of what I want her backstory to be and what future runs I plan on doing; so with that being said Pika would never willingly set foot in Kanto - so it's been changed to Hoenn to better fit with the story I have planned.
Good luck with this. You're going to need it. Me, personally? I wouldn't touch Reborn with a ten-foot pole. But I like your commentary, so I'll be sticking around regardless. Must say, I'm impressed that you're going out of your comfort zone to draw human portraits. They look great! Also, Pika has gained the power to swear, and that's amazing.
I see that Not Ketchum is back again. Surely only good things can happen out of those sudden calls with that Reshiram, right... right? Anyway, it's nice to see the main trainer having her own portraits.
I don't know a whole lot about Pokemon Reborn, other than the fact that it's somewhat controversial, but I'm glad to see you're giving this game a go. I can't wait to see how you, Basil and Violet go in Reborn. Good luck, and get that Gyarados stealer.

Can't diss that first capture. Super Fang is very useful against tanky enemies.
There's Guts too which should be good against Julia's paralysis moves.
So begins your long, gruelling journey through or out of Reborn.
Only complaint I have is that the gameplay images are a little too big for my liking.
I can't remember what image hosting site you're using, but Imgur's medium thumbnail setting is what I use myself.
That's only my recommendation though. Do what you want.

Welcome aboard Basil. And tbh Chikorita line in reborn is not has bad. Its usages are just well... not that many. But it compensates its lack of versatility by being a strong wall. The lack of many atatcks is fixed due to the buff to Nature power. And with how early you get light clay? i think you konw what moves of the Chikorita line you should keep ? ~~if not im talking about the reflet and light screen that it gets by level up~~

I approve of your choice of starter: I've had a special place in my heart for Chikorita and its line after one led me to victory in my first ever completed run on this forum (well, technically back when it was still Zetaboards). And Careful isn't bad at all, considering it'll add to Chikorita's natural bulk and early Razor Leaf isn't affected (the P/S split is in this hack, right?). Between all that and Basil's attitude, I definitely hope that he makes it, but at this point, I know not to necessarily expect it.

Also, a new clause has been added to the rules. @Bernag approached me with a fun idea, and I decided go with it! Essentially, if I manage to beat every 4th Gym (there's 18 Gyms in this game, so 4 gifts total) I will be sent a random shiny as a gift.
It won't be anything game breaking, just a fun way to celebrate the occasional victory. And there will be an explanation of it in-universe, so don't you worry your pretty little heads about that.
EDIT: There was a slight bit of confusion, so I get the gift even if I lose a 'mon. I'm just putting this edit here for those that saw the incorrect information before I removed it
Yeah, this game is definitely not for everyone - it's got a lot of unpleasant stuff going on in it. I've still got a soft-spot for it though.

I'm really glad they turned out alright.
Statistically yes, that explosion should have absolutely obliterated everyone onboard.
But thankfully Pika's immune to explosions, and as such the run can continue.
Despite the controversial nature of this game; I adore it.

I'd say, if you've got some spare slots in your Elite 4 team put one of your old friends in.
But have them hold like, a new experimental Eject Button that'll launch them back to safety if there HP reaches zero.

Welcome aboard Basil. And tbh Chikorita line in reborn is not has bad. Its usages are just well... not that many. But it compensates its lack of versatility by being a strong wall. The lack of many atatcks is fixed due to the buff to Nature power. And with how early you get light clay? i think you konw what moves of the Chikorita line you should keep ? ~~if not im talking about the reflet and light screen that it gets by level up~~
It's true that the Chikorita line are very bulky (I am so exited for Reflect and Light Screen) but my main worry is him being a pure grass-type. Flying-types and poison-types are stupidly common, and all it takes is one random ember or unlucky surprise bug and he's a very dead boy 😟
Grass-types are just so fragile... I'll do my best to protect him though!

I approve of your choice of starter: I've had a special place in my heart for Chikorita and its line after one led me to victory in my first ever completed run on this forum (well, technically back when it was still Zetaboards).
I love Chikorita - I really do. I actually all three of the Johto starters pretty equally - I feel like they're peak starter designs.
It's just... this is Reborn. My first attempted Reborn nuzlocke was with a Swampert as my starter, and even he eventually fell. This game is brutal, and Chikorita just isn't the best.

And Careful isn't bad at all, considering it'll add to Chikorita's natural bulk and early Razor Leaf isn't affected (the P/S split is in this hack, right?).
Yeah I really appreciate the bulk boost; especially considering the Chikorita line is definitely more defense based. I'm honestly just grateful they learn a decent amount of physical moves.
And yeah, the physical/special split is in this game. The devs aren't thatcruel.
I have had the worst luck with starters lately; which is insane because I rarely lost starters before I started posting my runs online! Ironically, I have lost my starter in almost all three of my Reborn attempts. (First attempt I lost my Swampert pretty late-game, second attempt my Prinplup died pretty quick, and with the third attempt my Incineroar actually survived; but I had too strict of a ruleset so I just sort of gave up.)
Maybe Basil will break the curse though! ... Maybe.

Hm, I don't know how much you know about this game - but you're partially right.
In older versions he was pretty exclusively a poison-type trainer, but during some reworks he ended up getting a more diverse team. I think he only has two poison-types now? I'm not a hundred percent sure on that though...
Man, I really do hope that Violet manages to do even half as well as Scout did; Reborn is a whole different beast though.
