First off, this run or locke is based on a very old hack of Pokemon Red & Pokemon Blue by LuckyTyphlosion (which means you NEED to patch your version to do it).
That said, let's get down to business...
What is Chaos%?
Chaos% is a ROM hack of Pokemon Red & Blue that turns the game into its own self-corrupting, self-hacking, and self-cheating game. Essentially, the game never stops editing itself... but there's a catch, all the edits are tied to the save, not the ROM itself.
What this means is, every time you play the game, the "corruptions" will be different, and are stored in the WRAM and SRAM, and not the game itself. However, the longer you play, the more chaotic it becomes.
What kind of "corruptions" are there?
The corruptions can range from literally anything to anything else. Like no joke, the limit is the game itself. Some "corruption" examples are:
Moves: Pokemon will learn and unlearn moves. Moves will also have a chance to be replaced by any other move, along with gaining PP, changing its typing, changing its damage, changing what effects it does, changing its critical chance, and so much more. Think of it as Metronome on steroids, but every move is itself.. until it isn't.
Psychic-type Scratch? That's useful.
And now its Swift... well dang it!
Items & TMs/HMs: Just like with moves, items will appear and disappear, be changed into other items, gain and lose a quantity, change effects, and more.
Pokemon: Like with everything above, your Pokemon will also change. Their stats will change, their moves will change, their colors will change, their graphics will change, their sounds will change, and hell... they may even just become another Pokemon entirely.
Hell yeah, I learned Hydro Pump... but how?
Money & Badges: Yep, it is possible to gain and lose money randomly, as well as gain and lose badges.
Trainers: Oh yeah, did I forget to mention... trainers will also change sometimes. You may walk into Viridian Forest and be like "pfft, silly bug catchers, this will be a breeze" and then suddenly you're fighting Lance.
Graphics, Music, & Sound: As an added bonus, the game can and will change how stuff looks, sounds, what color it is, what music plays, and even distort or break the text or force it to load awkwardly.
Yeah, try playing the game if you can't read anything.
But that's not all, this game can be both the EASIEST game you ever played, or the HARDEST and most obnoxious rage inducing nightmare.
Maps & Locations: Oh yeah, let's talk about that. Ever wanted to battle Pokemon inside the Pokecenter or your house? Well, its possible. How about being teleported to the Silph building from Pallet Town? Well... it is possible.
Battle in my house? Awww yeah!
Controls: Did you honestly think this would be the end? Ha! You've barely experienced suffering. This hack/challenge can even DISABLE, FLIP, or move your controls around. So UP may become START, or all your controls can just stop working.
Lastly, there is something you need to know...
...when doing this challenge, be patient, and don't use speedup too often. At any moment, the game can crash itself. Although it isn't very common, it is possible. So you are ENCOURAGED to SAVE SCUM as often as possible and even make a backup save and a SAVE STATE just in case for faster loading.
This hack/challenge can softlock you at any moment, but if you overcome the odds, and give it your all... you might just beat it.
I have attempted to beat this almost 100 times (no joke), and still haven't. In my very first run, Nurse Joy was recoded into one of the Elite Four, and that meant, I could no longer use the Pokecenter, which caused a softlock, due to being unable defeat the Elite Four as intended.
If you think you can handle it, then download the patch below for Red/Blue, and prepare for a hack unlike no other.

RULES
1. Don't use cheats/codes or glitches to get through the game. The game itself will do it for you... eventually.
2. Save often (including a save state) and if the game seems like it froze, try to fast forward through it, odds are it probably disabled your controls temporarily.
3. Don't freak out. All of these "corruptions" aren't permanent to the game itself, just the save file, and are harmless (such as ones that make your sprite seem off-center, when in reality, the sprite is, but your sprite pointer isn't).
