Welcome to my 4th Nuzlocke! Of course none of the others are documented! Anyway this nuzlocke's rules will not be on this thread unless they come up.
Anyway here is the first update:

Ok. It's not like I've ever played any other pokemon games before.

Well it's back to normal.

Another dog dead, sadly it had to be done. I don't know how so many authors do it without a thought.

At least Champ is level seven now.

Let's battle May...

After training Champ to level ten of course.

There we go now we can battle May...

After healing up.

Now I'm going to beat May finally!

Mud-Slap will lower Treecko's accuracy giving me the advantage.

Also Champ is powerful so it will do decent damage.

There is that accuracy drop!

If it works once it will work again.

And work it does.

A third time!

A fourth time!

You hit that with a quarter accuracy! That is impressive.

A fifth time...

And I win.

Yeah I know.

You really think so? I mean I guess I used some strategy I could have spammed tackle like when I was training.

That is because I trained it to level ten on the second episode.

This is a fact in games where you actually catch ledgendaries. In this Nuzlocke I will only catch and use ledgendaries that are my first encounter in an area or if they are shiny, gifts, ect.

As for May, my opinion on her is that she exists. She has a nice design, but in the main series games her personality is pretty generic from the little I remember of her.

You got two Zigzagoons, and pick up farming will be pretty useful. You also got a Tailow for some nice flying coverage. Not too sure that the Poocheyeena will be much help though, especially with that 60 base special attack stat when evolved. Also rip Breloom, curse you a lack of pokeballs!

Still you could try making a private discord server and uploading the images to there. Or you could use imgur to uplod your images.

Yeah I don't want to kill any encounters and so just pokeballs will be fine here.

Well I must have something that makes people be attracted to my run other than my brilliant commentary and terrible image system!

No, you forget about how many encounters can only be fishing encounters. No I'm probably going to end up with my final team being Champ and 6 gyrados.

Pickup farming will be useful! I hate grinding and pickup has a chance to get rare candy after every battle I'm pretty sure so that means I can level up using rare candies! (I don't care that they are bad for EVs I'm not going to be that strategic unless this game ends up being much harder than I think it will be) Tailow is a good flying type and I think I will use it. Poochyena is practically useless which is why each evil team has them. Yep RIP Breloom indeed, a 100% accuracy sleep move on a Pokemon that fast is amazing! And Breloom has other pretty good stall moves like leech seed so It's sad that I didn't have enough pokeballs. I definitely didn't spend most of my money on pokeballs after encountering shroomish.

Good Ideas about what to use for images I'll think about that.

Spoiler: Episode 4: A wild team aqua grunt appeared!

Last time we got four new team members and did not get a 6th pokemon because of a lack of pokeballs. (Curse the PokeBall I stole from May not working when I used it on that Tailow!)

This episode we find a secret passageway!

Champ did a bit more than patting it on the back, Champ literally blasted pressurized water into the Poochyena's face.

So much exp you would think I was beating a low level Chansey.

No pokemon or trainer can resist Champ's might.

This is one of the most useless items in the game.

Seriously a whismur! I can get those in the tunnel! Whatever commence catching montage:












And that is how I caught boombox. (I had forgotten how close Champ came to death)

And then I remembered how you get the TM for cut in this game.


This will be helpful if I remember to go to the secret path on the route where I caught whismur but I have no confidence in myself to remember to do that after the gym.


I was going to say that cut has the same accuracy as tackle but more damage but Running only had three moves!


I chose to make this a double battle because I can get extra exp in double battles for Pokemon other than Champ and that is useful.

See, Running gets a level up from Champ defeating the Geodude!

And Laying Low gets a level up from defeating the shroomish which paralyzed her.

Three pokemon defeated and it was a two on one for most of the battle, and this is the amount of money we get. So yeah in Emerald double battles are a good way to grind for exp and money.

Now to heal that paralysis I told you about with the paralyze heal I found in the forest.

How did this happen? This is the screenshot right after the healing paralysis one!

Bide is a terrible move that is even worse in a Nuzlocke.

Oh, there was a trainer battle!

Time to catch another whismur!

Ok so what is your favorite evil team? What do you think about the trainer situation? And do you think that this would be better as a comic that probably updates after double the amount of time it takes me to post these screenshot episodes, because drawing pokemon takes a bit and then drawing a human that doesn't look terrible takes like forever, or the format this run is already in? Or maybe you even think that this run would be better in a different style? Tell me in your comment and also tell me how to get the url of an image so that I can make a banner image for this run! I promise I will do my best to make the banner image look decent if I make one.

Yep RIP Breloom indeed, a 100% accuracy sleep move on a Pokemon that fast is amazing!

If that's what you wanted Breloom for, you didn't miss out on much. Shroomish doesn't learn spore until level 54 in Emerald, and Breloom doesn't learn it at all. So even if you had pokeballs you wouldn't get spore Breloom until the game was practically over.

Also I just realized that your zigzagoons are named running shoes, and that's pretty clever.

For a moment I wondered why you didn't come here first to trigger dupes clause and get something else on the other route. Then I remembered you didn't have dupes clause.

My favorite evil team of the two in Hoenn has to be Magma. I just feel like their plan makes a lot more sense than team Aqua. The earth is already 70% water, so we really don't need more(unless it's clean drinkable water, but it seems they want more sea water). I mean, your trainer is fine the way it is since it's just you giving commentary, which works in this kind of run. I don't think you should make this run a comic. Your mostly just documenting a run and giving commentary, and the hours of work drawing a comic takes is too much for just giving some commentary on your run. The only edit you should make is making your images smaller, as they're just really big right now, which makes it a bit of a pain to scroll through when you have a ton of them with little commentary in between. And to get the Url of an image right click it, and click copy image link

Breloom also has one of the best types, and I just like Breloom's design, plus it was an extra team member in the long run.

I had also thought I over leveled Champ. I think the problem is we forgot about how high leveled Roxanne is and that battle is the last boss battle before Roxanne.
Ok, so only important battles and since I am going to do an update with only a gym I might show gym trainers.

I feel like Maxie is more of a boss of an evil team then Archie. Maxie also has a better design. But Archie wants more water and less pollution and Maxie just wants to get rid of all water. Archie has a better goal but is not evil just misguided.
Doesn't that only work for images on Google? Anyway I still am having problems with URLS and stuff and things though I definitely get why you are annoyed about the images, I am too. Maybe I will try to use imgur maybe, I don't know.

So it is time to fight the gym.

Ok, before I fight Roxanne I'd like to show you something:

Nothing says you can't have water type moves, and nothing says you can't use ground type moves. So yeah I am going to attempt to sweep Roxanne with only ground type moves to maybe get an achievement.

Fight time! Get ready for me to say nothing the entire battle!































In case you didn't notice, the only two moves Champ used were mud slap and mud shot. (:

Have I mentioned how much I like double battles in this game? Yes? Ok

That's a nice change of pace. I usually see people loathing double battles due to how deadly they can be as the foe can double target your frailer pokemon.

Maybe to help out Shoes?

When I first saw this, I was shocked because for a second I thought the trainer sent out a shiny Geodude, and I was like "They can do that?!?!?!" Then I realized it was just the stat lowering animation.

Nothing says you can't have water type moves, and nothing says you can't use ground type moves. So yeah I am going to attempt to sweep Roxanne with only ground type moves to maybe get an achievement

Ooo, nice work around. Ground is super effective against all of them, and from that rule, it's perfectly legal.

In the first few generations, a few of the badges would give you a slight boost to your stats. I think it was something like *1.1 or *1.2 damage. However from what I think was the 4th gen onward they completely removed the badge boosts.

Roxanne has a niceish design. But she's really forgettable.
