I was really excited when the AMA thread on the old forums went up because I thought it'd be interesting and a fun way for us to learn more about each other. So I figured why not bring it back for the new forums?

Rules (largely taken from the old thread):
1) One person posts for an AMA: "Hi I'm ________, AMA!"
2) 5 people ask a question. Anything goes as long as it's forum-appropriate and within the rules.
*6 questions are okay (especially if the last couple come in at the same time), but let's not go overboard and load up 10-20 questions for one person.
3) Once 5 questions are up, the person up for AMA has 24 hours to answer before the round moves on. They can go before 5 questions to keep things moving.
*maybe ping the AMA poster a few hours before the 24-hour mark if they haven't answered?
4) Rinse and repeat.
5) You're welcome to post for an AMA as much as you like, as long as you leave room for others to have their turn. Preferably let at least five others have a turn before you post again.

Anyway:
1) Favorite Gym/Kahuna?

Same, hopefully we'll be able to get it going.
Anyway, either Elesa's gym in BW or Drayden's in BW2. The roller coasters were a lot of fun, and the giant dragon statues were an amazing aesthetic.
As for kahunas, either Olivia or Nanu because I love their personalities. Kiawe is a very close third.

2. Least Favorite Type

Easily Fairy, because I don't think it needed to be added, especially not 13 years after the last change to the type chart. Before it got added, I'd have said Bug because I never used to think it was any good (I don't think that anymore though).

This is probably an obvious question, but where did you get the idea for your username?

It was in a shoutbox (RIP) conversation a long time ago. I don't remember exactly how it came up, but someone brought up Pokémon fusions and threw the name out and I was like "Hell yes I want that to be a thing." Plus it was a million times better than my old username.

What’s your favorite region and why?

It's a tie between Sinnoh and Unova. I've always thought Sinnoh-especially in Platinum-was beautiful and I loved all the different environments, especially the first real attempt at a snowy area (which admittedly wasn't all that great...)
And I loved that Unova was the first region based outside of Japan, and I thought they did an amazing job making it similar to New York and the surrounding area.

What in your opinion, is an underrated region and why?

Definitely Sinnoh. People whine about HMs in it, but it's not like it was the first region to need them. And I think Mt. Coronet was a neat way to split the region, and again, it had their first attempt at a snowy area, even if it didn't work very well.

What do you think about Bowser's parenting style?

I love seeing what crazy ideas there are for ghost type Pokémon. Some of my all-time favorites are dark types. Working on a gen 1 run has made me realize just how much the psychic type has influenced the Pokémon series' development. I wonder, for instance, if psychic had been better balanced, would we ever have gotten new types? (If we did, we probably would not have gotten the types that we did either!)

What’s your favorite species of bird?

Full disclaimer: I know nothing about birds. ._. That being said, from an aesthetic standpoint, scarlet macaws are beautiful.

You know what sucks, though? When you look up scarlet macaws, you always get shifty pet websites. Scarlet macaws are not good candidates for pets! They need a lot of space, a lot of attention, and can live a long time. As in, 50-70 years. Yeah. Birds are wild.

Top 5 reasons why you love Bowser, go!

In no particular order (because I suck at ordering preferences):
1) His design. Turtle plus dragon plus some demonic elements (most looking at the red hair; a lot of demons/devils are depicted with red hair)? Yes please!
2) His castle. Bowser's Castle is always one of the best stages in each Mario Kart game.
3) How he's written. Particularly in the Mario RPGs. He's kind of dim-witted, but he never lets that get him down because (he thinks) he's the best! Honestly, dumb but confident is my favorite type of character to play in D&D. :)
4) His range as a character. While campy Bowser is best Bowser don't @ me, Bowser plays so many roles in the Mario multiverse, but none of them ever feel disingenuous? It's probably because, like most Mario characters, you have a pretty blank slate to start with, and the more story-based games use that not as a constraint but as an entryway to so many potential depictions!
5) How he's secretly a loving parent? Like, he adopted the Koopalings. All seven of them. On top of his one biological child, Bowser Jr. Eight kids is crazy for anyone to handle, never mind a single parent! No wonder he's obsessed with marrying Peach! Poor guy has swallowed what society has told him: that a single father can not be a good parent. :( Don't let them get you down, though, buddy! Your kids all love you!

Favorite Bowser Game.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is not only my favorite Paper Mario game, but it has my favorite depiction of Bowser. Perhaps those facts are connected. You'll be relevant in this plot at some point, Bowser..! Now scurry along those remixed NES levels..!

What do you think about Bowser's parenting style?

You know, his kids never have anything but praise for him, and I think what your children say about you is an important metric of parenting skills.
