Basically it will make this run actually challenging and not the snore-fest vanilla Omega ruby was.
It also offers a much, MUCH wider variety of Pokemon to capture.
Hopefully this let's me avoid catching Tentacool on every ocean route.
So without further ado :
Standard rule settings :
1. One catch per area and I have to nickname each Pokemon I capture.
2. When a Pokemon faints it is considered dead and can never be used again.
3. No using Legendary Pokemon. The obligatory Latios/Latias will be in for one rotation and then be retired indefinitely.
Alphabet-Locke rules :
1) My team shall be selected based on the alphabet.
I shall have to fill my team based on their Pokemon names, Species name and Nickname
The first six alphabetically of each category will get a place on the team.
I will rotate the roster each time I enter a new city or beat a gym leader.
2) Pokemon nicknames will be chosen by a random letter generator so I can't cheat.
3)The Alphabet-Locke doesn't start till I have more than 6 Pokemon obviously.
Wildcard rules :
1)To make it slightly harder I got a friend to randomly select a few routes where I cannot capture Pokemon
These routes are : Route 102, Route 108, Route 124 and Route 130.
Thankfully most of them are ocean routes (except for 102 which is annoying...)
2)On one randomly selected route I am allowed to catch a second Pokemon
And that route is....?
Route 104.
Well could be worse...
3)One Pokemon can be rotated regardless of Alphabet-locke rules. We shall refer to this Pokemon as the HM Slave.
It will probably be a Water-type.
4)Can't over-level for Gyms. The Pokemon I use cannot be more than one level higher than the Leader's Ace. Any higher and I can't use it in battle.
Unless it reached those levels withing the gym itself.
5)I am only allowed to catch a Horde Pokemon on route 117. Horde mons yo!
