And you're done! Yay, now we can play your hack and not get our board deleted.
For users on Linux, BeyondTheFail tells me you will want to use LazyIPS instead. No detailed instructions as I don't run Linux personally and I assume that if you're running Linux you can figure it out.
- Download a copy of Lunar IPS (LIPS).
- Run the program.
- Select Apply IPS Patch.
- Select the patch you would like to apply and hit Okay.
- Select the ROM you would like to apply the patch to.
I would suggest making a copy of the base ROM, so that you don't have to download another copy of the original. - Rename the ROM with the patch applied so that you can keep track of which one is which.
And you're done! Yay, now you can play the ROM hack, and still have a copy of the original.
Patching tutorial PART 2: Creating an .IPS patch
- Run LIPS.
- Select Create .IPS Patch.
- Select the ORIGINAL, UNMODIFIED ROM and hit Okay.
- Select the ROM you have hacked and hit Okay.
- Name your patch to whatever you want and upload it to your favorite file host.
I personally prefer mediafire because they don't have wait times. - Post a link to your .IPS PATCH in your thread and share your hack with the world.
