tfw I just figured out why my screenshots from my old run wouldn't show up on the new forum a year and a half after I rejoined and noticed they weren't working 😐
Question for people who do streams: how do you find enough material to keep talking while streaming? I was watching one the other day and was 🤯 that the streamer had material for a 4+ hour stream (I didn’t watch the whole thing, but).

It's mostly observational for me. When I stream I think about everything I'm doing in the game -- what mons I'm using, reacting to how they attack or critical hits or surprises, and being mindful of them when they happen. Sometimes you get lucky and have a conversation with your chat.

Anyone can do it, though! It's not a talent, it's just something you practice.
This is a left field question, but...does Nuzlocke himself know we moved forums/did he have to approve it? I don’t guess it matters since he hasn’t been around the site in like 7-8 years, but I was just thinking about it the other day.

Well, the link to the forum on the official Nuzlocke website links to this one, so I think he knows.

Yes, actually. We got his attention on Twitter a month or two after switching hosts.

Hmm, my team is ~58, is that enough? 🤔
...Eh, since I'm not locking, probably.
*goes into the stadium, promptly curbstomps everyone since I'm 5-10 levels above everyone else*
    ...oh 😐
At least Leon was a challenge, but that was very underwhelming.

Team was Inteleon/Corviknight/Boltund/Toxtricity/Centiskorch/Copperajah btw. But why the heck was everyone so underleveled? Marnie and Hop were the same level as Raihan!
The perma-Exp Share really ruins the late game if you have a set team 😐

Yeah, the level curve towards the end is all kinda of wonky. If you play normally, you'll be overleveled for the tournament and stuff. And then Leon will strut in and you'll suddenly be underleveled by like 5-10 levels.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to be overleveled towards the end. I was still about 5 levels below you at that point, though, so I didn't feel it quite that bad in my original playthrough... But that's part of the reason I suggest not doing the Isle of Armor story stuff in a Nuzlocke. Because the Exp. Charm will lead to an even wonkier endgame, especially if you pick it up early!
I think I’ve realized that one reason I’m hesitant to join chats is I feel like any time I do, it dies shortly after, so I feel like it’s my fault that happened, and that makes me feel like I shouldn’t bother 😐

I appreciate it, it's just hard for me to shake that feeling as irrational as it may be.
That and a lot of time I don't feel like I have much to contribute...and some of them have way too much going on for me to keep up with.
But I guess I can give it a try...I just hope it ends up turning out differently :ohdear:

if injecting oneself into a chat is rude / awkward, then aren't all people rude & awkward the first time we ever see them?

but that rudeness is baked into the fabric of community, & the secret is, no matter how rude you think it is to interrupt, the rudest of all is whoever says "quiet, we're talking here". not you.

99% chance you get a free in to the convo instead, tbh.

Anybody else hate the sound of their own voice or is it just me?

I get what you mean, and don’t worry it didn’t come off annoying. I just...idk I’ve never liked my voice, especially since I constantly get mistaken as a woman over speakers/phones.
It’s why I have no desire for anyone on here to ever hear me speak, because it’s just...not good.

i've always been a supremely confident person when it comes to my own superficial self-image, but when it comes to my speaking voice things start to feel like they come up short ^^; which is to say despite having practiced voice acting and recorded myself i always struggle with liking how my voice comes out

i've always admired more alto/baritone voices. whenever i lowered the tone of my voice on adobe audition my serotonin level would go up LMAO

there's also the comfort of knowing that you can, in fact, train your voice to sound different! i honestly don't know to what extent but i tend to slack off on it since speaking often is new to me (not because of disliking my voice)
Good news: survived snowmageddon relatively unscathed wrt power
