We're starting to plan something for the summer! Right now I think a lot of online spaces slow down because it's finals season for college students.

    Nice! I’ll be there!
I don’t like Kotaku. They made an article on Monster Hunter Rise saying how it was “too hard for beginners to get into”. While it is a difficult game, maybe think first before you skip the tutorial and try to face a mid-game monster with your starter gear. Then it won’t be as difficult.

Kotaku's always been shit for anything gaming-related, but that's a bafflingly common trap with reviewing MH, sadly. It does suck to constantly hear MH boiled down to "b-b-b-but it gets fun after ten hours!!!!" and such non-criticisms. Dunno. MH has never been a series for the attention span-deficient, so I suspect the reason is just that people are turned off because they're not getting that instant gratification.

MH is one of those games that's always going to be hard for so-called games journalists, because we all know that there's no such thing as a games journalist who's actually halfway competent at playing games. That and the fact MH naturally has a reasonably steep learning curve and is by design a challenging game about fighting things the size of buildings who can cart you in one indignant smack.
It was a so-so direct... but come on, I’ll never be satisfied.
