A Pokémon shrouded in hearsay and urban legend, spoken of only in whispered tales and hushed gossip.
I'd take Johto Chikorita over Ultra Alola Rowlet. Meganium can at least take hits and use support moves in a bad match-up. Decidueye is weak to the obscene amount of Dark-types and Dark coverage in Alola and its physical bulk is average at best.

This is a bit of a minor rant after I got Cosplay Pikachu on my Alpha Sapphire nuzlocke and immediately found out online she's basically useless, but my God I am so sick of Pikachu being in almost every generation. It actually had a use in its original generation as a decent early game Electric type, and I know nostalgia is a powerful factor, but can we please take a break from this thing?

Its knock offs are actually surprisingly solid though, and deserve more of a chance than they tend to get.

This Pokémon is the Unovan regional form of the Pokémon White Chaos, shrugging the Dark/Psychic typing in favor of a Grass/Poison persona.
While she can't evolve, I wouldn't say she's useless. Being one of the only Electric types in the game with access to Ice-type coverage is sweet (the other being Lanturn) and flinching can be a nice win condition in a pinch.

But yeah, I prefer the generational "takes" on Pikachu far more than Pikachu itself. Togedemaru, for example, is an absolute treat of a Pokemon.

Adept at procrastination. If he ever seems productive, it's likely because he's ignoring something far more important.
They also give you a free Light Ball in the main game of ORAS, so it's actually very usable for something that's stuck as a Pikachu.

She's like a sea urchin. Tough and prickly on the outside, but delicate and easily wounded if hit the wrong way. Please handle gently.

I like pichu, emolga, mimikyu, and togedemaru. I don't like pachirisu and plusle/minun, and im neutral on morpeko. (almost forgot its name and wrote hamtaro.)

This Skarmory/Charizard fusion is very rare and tends to be quiet and shy until befriended. Also a huge fan of Smash Bros. and writing.
I'm okay with most of the Pikaclones-Plusle/Minun were always solid for me in Gen 3/Colosseum, and Togedemaru and Morpeko are both cool. Pachirisu is meh, I don't really care for Emolga, and Mimikyu needs to die in a fire. To be honest though, I like Pikachu more than any of the clones.

Recently, I'm took liking to Wingull and Pelipper. While frail, Wingull surprisingly useful in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon series during second trial as they can resist most of Totem Araquanid moves(except Aurora Beam) if you raise it right. Also Pelipper is very good and surprisingly Tanky. My Pelipper back in my Omega Ruby run is surviving a Thunder Fang from Zinnia's Salamence freakin' twice in different occasions and that's something.

I like Pachirisu, but even I have to admit its stats are garbage. I was stoked to find out that one guy managed to get it on his winning championship team though, because I'm always a sucker for the underdog.

Pachirisu is super cute and I love it to bits. It's probably the most versatile of the clones in game due to its access to Super Fang/Charm/Bide/Grass Knot/Sweet Kiss/Flash/Light Screen/U Turn. There's a lot of roles it can play in a Nuzlocke which is always fun.

I'll just say there was a certain satisfaction in sweeping Elesa's two Emolga and Zebstrika with a Dream World Emolga of my own back in the day. Actually gave me quite a bit of respect for it.

I don't like Absol very much. I just find it a rather average Dark type; nothing that really sets it apart from anything else.

Probably unpopular, because I've seen this get slapped down with target audience!!! talk before, but...man, would I like some more extensive character customisation in pokémon, most of all being able to play as an actual (young) adult. Not the eternal baby Jon Doe with the single mom.

Think my desire for that is just getting greater and greater not just because I'm getting older like everyone else, but ESPECIALLY because of Gen 7 and 8, frankly, being obnoxious with the "Kid, you're a kid, kid. Kiddy. Baby, kid. Exactly 11 years, w h o a!" talk. When it was easy enough to ignore it in older gens.

This has been your daily dose of fandom fossil yells at games.

In addition to all the Kalos love here (yay!) I actually prefer Lysandre to Ghetsis. Why? Because at least Lysandre had a reason for his existence other than "blah blah blah take over the WOOORRLLLD"

This is one of the reasons I like Gen V. The fact that Cheren is made a Gym Leader in BW2 means he, Bianca, and the BW protagonist have to be a good bit older than the standard 10-11 that most Pokemon protagonists are.
