Another thing I found out recently in GSC is that Oak has a line if you reach him in Pallet Town with no Kanto badges. I normally get the Kanto badges as I go round, but this time round I decided to leave them until the end to make it a true (piss easy) boss rush. Oak actually says "Have you not been collecting Kanto badges?" rather than his usual spiel. I assume it's the same in HGSS as well.

In USUM, Totem Mimikyu won't summon its second ally Pokemon until you break its Disguise.
Discovered when I went in with Sylveon. Used Psych Up turn 1 to copy the Totem boost, killed the Banette. It wouldn't summon the Jellicent while I was spamming Sand Attack. (It also got affected by Cute Charm in the process for extra hilarity)

There are many basic things I wasn't aware have changed since Gen 7 (as I blinded both Gen 7 and 8, and never bothered to later check them).

Among them is the fact that confusion no longer has 50% to work, but is now only 33%. Wish I knew that before my battle with Leon.

Adept at procrastination. If he ever seems productive, it's likely because he's ignoring something far more important.
So there's a Sightseer named Jamie who appears in Poni Breaker Coast in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. She makes some weird comment about "power spots" before you fight her, and then complains about her Pokemon not getting infused with power as her losing quote. After playing Swish, it's now clear that she was intended to be from Galar, and she was trying to find somewhere she could Dynamax her Pokemon!

Despite that, of the five different Pokemon she owns between the games, only her Vulpix from S/M is actually native to Galar. Her Persian in US/UM kinda comes close, but not close enough.

Wow, that's some pretty nice foreshadowing there!

That you can change the order of moves and items in the bag in Gen 1 through the SELECT button! I have replayed Gen 1 REPEATEDLY and NEVER knew this!

I just figured out that the multiselect function in the PC boxes already exists in the 3rd generation! I just pushed the select button while playing Pokémon Emerald and was surprised that this existed! I thought this feature firstly existed in the 5th Generation..!

This Skarmory/Charizard fusion is very rare and tends to be quiet and shy until befriended. Also a huge fan of Smash Bros. and writing.

Rookidee and Corvisquire are pure-Flying types. I just assumed they were Normal/Flying like every other early bird...

In Gen 8 Eevee evolves into Glaceon by Ice Stone and Leafeon by Leaf Stone. I can't explain to you how profound this seemingly minor change is in my opinion, as Leafeon was always the missing Leaf Stone evolution of Eevee ever since gen I. Sort of historical justice if you ask me (Though makes it hard to explain why Kantonians never unlocked Leafeons).

Same is also true for Vikavult who now evolves using a Thunder Storm. Wonder what they'll do with other mons that evolve in a magnetic field once they'll add them in the expansion.

A bizarre Pokémon who dislikes many social activities. She appears to have a penchant for peanut butter and foreign languages.
You know those rails in XY that you skate on? I always thought that the broken ones were one-way. Turns out that whether you can cross them or not depends on how fast you’re skating.

I found that out a few months ago, still I was surprised I didn't notice it for all the years I played pokemon - The gender of pokemon owned by trainers tend to be the same as the gender of their owners.
Will's Heart Gold team is all female; Lorelei's FRLG team is male except for Jynx. Interesting huh?

In Gen 1, if you go back to Oak after beating your rival on route 22 with only your starter, he gives you five Pokeballs.

It's probably because it's a pseudo-fossils. The fossil Pokemon (at least the ones through Gen 6, I don't know about the new ones) are all mostly male species.
Yep, that's why they're fossils now lol.

Same with the starters being rare and not in the wild, they are mostly bred in captivity because the species isn't well adapted

Grimsley's Liepard is always female as well, most likely for the Attract strategy.

The only types to not have a specialist in any region's Elite Four so far are Electric, Grass, and Normal. If you exclude Bede, since he technically wasn't supposed to be fighting you when he did, then Fairy is also still lacking a specialist.

However, non-specialist Champions can use all three of those types in Let's Go, S/M (if you picked Popplio), and US/UM (if you picked Popplio or Litten). If you picked Scorbunny, then Hop would have all three in the semifinals in Galar (though he drops the Pincurchin after the postgame, so it's not in any of his rematch teams). Each type also has at least one representative in the Pokemon of the Elite Four in Alola in both S/M and US/UM. Of the three, Grass is the most common, appearing on at least one team (or one team variation) in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kalos, Alola and Galar, making Unova the only region where you will never see a Grass type. You'll also never see an Electric or Normal type in B/W2's League, though Ghetsis has both an Electric type and a Normal type in B/W.

The only League without a single trainer with a pseudolegendary is Sun and Moon. The only Champions that don't use a pseudolegendary are Blue (though he gets a Tyranitar in his FRLG rematch)/Trace, Wallace, Alder, Kukui and Hau. Technically N doesn't either, but he uses a box legendary, so he doesn't get any credit for that.

This Pokémon is the Unovan regional form of the Pokémon White Chaos, shrugging the Dark/Psychic typing in favor of a Grass/Poison persona.

A timid Pokémon typically found in groups. The only thing that motivates her more than companionship is food.
The move Uproar immediately wakes up any Pokémon that was put to sleep before the move was used, in addition to preventing any mons from going to sleep while a Pokémon is uproaring. (Only that second property is mentioned in the move’s Gen 4 flavor text.)

In hindsight, this should’ve been obvious, but it did lead to a very scary moment against Falkner.

Very ironic in retrospect how Hoothoot not only learns both Hypnosis and Uproar, a contradiction in its own right, but has a chance to carry Insomnia to boot.
