A lot of you are probably wondering how up to this point in the Nuzlockology storyline, somehow the team has remained so streamlined, optimized, and unusually small? Well, that's because for the sake of exactly those things & being able to properly focus on character/plot development, I needed to omit a lot of the Pokemon I caught in the actual FireRed Nuzlocke itself from the Nuzlockology storyline. However, I planned ahead of time for a way to include these omitted Pokemon in the story in even at least a small mention/cameo, in what I personally feel was a clever concept. Today, you get to see right here & now how that idea has been implemented into Nuzlockology canon.

So to anyone wondering...no, I did not catch a very small number of Pokemon in the original FireRed Nuzlocke whose gameplay has been serving as the basis for the FireRed Arc of Nuzlockology.

In fact, I caught at least 30 total, basing off of old notes I have been keeping on-hand to look back through.

Personal Report #36 (December 16, 2010):

12-16-2010 1:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
Something's wrong...and I mean, really REALLY WRONG. I guess I need to recap a little so that what I am about to explain afterwards makes more sense.

After Dr. Oak gave us the confirmation that he received the last of the rescued Pokemon from the now-condemned Celadon Casino, we decided to make our way east. He referred us to an assistant of his who has been at the forefront of advocating for the increased rights, safety, protection, and wellbeing of Pokemon worldwide. Dr. Eldert Fuji is his name.

We stopped by at home back in Saffron Central to wash up, freshen up, and pack whatever we planned to carry with us once we left home again to head further east, beyond Saffron Central. During the shopping trip a few days ago, I decided to buy backpacks for everyone else on the team (Scorch, Nikolai, Quinlan, Abraham at least; Mitch already had his own). I figured this would make it easier to propagate our increased inventory, so that we can leave some stuff behind at home in Saffron, while we also have stuff on-hand in case of needing to spend more than a day away from home.

Eventually, we finally left for wherever our next destination was, which in hindsight was a bad idea, since it was dark out, making it more difficult to navigate our way east, despite the general path/direction being a straight shot out of Saffron Central. Also...the closer we were getting, the more this eerie ground fog began to take. Once we were within range of our destination hours later, the combined pitch black darkness of the night sky, and the dense fog made it difficult to see. Luckily, with Scorch's flame, and the combined psychic powers of Abraham & myself, we were able to continue onwards just fine.

Then it happened...

We finally entered the city, and...Abraham started complaining about sudden, gradually growing pain overcoming him, a feeling he insists he had never felt before. As the minutes passed by, the spontaneous fatigue, exhaustion, and pain worsen, and Abraham's pleas for relief increased. Soon...Abraham collapsed, thankfully being caught in Quinlan's embrace, before he could've hit the ground. The others started growing even more worried, as I did everything I could to keep everyone calm & resolute. Luckily, another Pokemon Center/Hotel was nearby, and we were able to run inside. We abruptly checked into a room, and I set Abraham down on a bed.

Now...one psychic technique I taught Abraham how to do was a self-healing technique, in case of injury, or whatever. However...I knew something was off, like really off. It was not like Abraham to suddenly go from being one of the most powerful team members, to this helpless, sickly, inexplicably hurting victim of some sort of injury. I knew good & well Abraham was more than capable of healing himself in case he needed to employ his psychic powers for such. So, when he wasn't healing himself on command, I suspected something bad.

When I proceeded to try to heal Abraham myself, two things ensued...first, I could not locate any source of possible injury on Abraham, whether it be a physical wound I could find externally, or maybe something that may have happened internally...second, something in the air was off, something was blocking my own psychic powers from working. This was something I had never experienced before, and I could tell Abraham had never experienced before either. The complete enigma unfolding before our team was growing more & more unsettling for each of us.

I can't even tell what is going on out there...Quinlan, having been able to sense danger previously in the cave he prevented myself & him from entering back at Port Vermilion, decided to try to feel out any sort of possible danger here in 'I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW.' Just as expected, Quinlan's whiskers straightened out, his body went full-on adrenaline mode, and he began hissing wildly out the balcony of the hotel room we were in.

Then...the feeling...it came back.

The same feeling I experienced when I first rescued Abraham.

The same feeling I experienced when Abraham, Quinlan, and I were being pursued on our way back from Cerulean Cape the night they evolved.

It was back. But this time...it was worse. WAY WORSE THAN EVER BEFORE.

[BOOTING UP TRANS-FEED]

[COMMENCE TRANSMISSION]

A storm has moved in on Lavender Town, where the team has taken shelter.

A few hours have passed well into the absolutely bleak darkness of night, as the eerie ambiance continues.

Back in the hotel room, the team rides out the storm, and whatever has been disrupting all psychic influence from Axis & Abraham.

Abraham has been suffering from whatever has been overcoming him, the Kadabra breathing heavily, eyes closed, all while experiencing an overwhelming sensory overload in his now compromised psychic mind.

Axis, who remains undeterred, continues to tend to Abraham in a desperate attempt to heal him, despite his own psychic power being prevented from doing it's work to heal the Kadabra, or even at least diagnosing what has been troubling him the entire time.

Scorch tries to sleep through this nightmare the team has been experiencing.

Nikolai has been frantically searching the team's backpacks for anything that could possibly help, be it medicine, food, or whatever.

Quinlan on the other hand, has been continuing to stare out the window into the stormy darkness, convinced that there was someone, or something, out there.

Quinlan: "..."

Nikolai: "Is he gonna be OK, Axis?"

Axis: "I don't know...I really do not know...I don't understand..."

Abraham: *struggling to breathe, whilst in agonizing pain*

Axis: "I can't pinpoint what's wrong...but I know something's wrong."

Quinlan: "..."

Nikolai: "What could it be?"

Axis: "Whatever it is...it's stopping all psychic influence from working..."

Nikolai: "Could it...could it be the area we're in right now?"

Axis: "I don't know...it might be...this is legitimately foreign to me..."

Hours pass by, morning arrives, and the storm eventually subsides.

It's much brighter now, but the thick ground fog cover persists, and it remains a gray/white gloomy sight outside.

Axis, having refused to sleep, stays by a bedridden Abraham's side.

Nikolai & Scorch have been asleep for some time.

Meanwhile, Quinlan has remained on the lookout for whatever he has convinced himself is out there.

Before long, Quinlan begins hissing loudly, thus waking everyone up.

Abraham's ears begin twitching wildly, as he too wakes up, and resumes his labored breathing.

Quinlan steps back from the sliding door/window, as something descends upon the hotel room.

Axis turns his attention towards the sudden new presence, his psychic powers gradually beginning to return.

The hooded/cloaked-face trainer puts his guard up, ready for a possible attack.

Abraham begins murmuring someone's name, almost as if sensing & recognizing who has entered the room from outside.

The barely visible, and mostly transparent apparition phases through the glass, and lands in the room, as it begins to materialize.

Abraham: "Em...Emers...on...Emer...son..."

Nikolai: "?!"

Axis: "Huh?"

Abraham: "...Em...Emerson..."

The apparition continues to materialize, gradually becoming more & more visible to everyone in the room.

Abraham: "...Emerson...is...is that you...?"

The apparition, having materialized fully, responds.

Emerson: "Yes...it is me, Abraham, good sir."

Abraham struggles to continue the conversation, eyes still closed from the pain, but now able to telekinetically sense Emerson's presence.

Abraham: "Emerson...wh...what...what happened?"

Emerson: "I...I honestly do not know."

Emerson looks at his hands, then inspects himself, having materialized into a ghost of his formerly human self, complete with an apparition of whatever he was wearing when he was last alive.

Abraham: "Do...do you...do you remember...anything?"

Emerson: "I...wait...I was still on-board the S.S. Anne...an explosion rocked the ship, and woke me up from my nap..."

Nikolai: "Uh oh..."

Axis: "...?"

Emerson: "I quickly got myself dressed...and...I attempted to evacuate...but...my cabin door."

Abraham: "What happened?"

Emerson: "The bloody thing would not open. Either something fell over on the other side of the door, and blocked me in...or..."

Axis: "...?"

Emerson: "I think...I remember seeing water seeping through the door at some point..."

Abraham: "...and?"

Emerson: "The last thing I remember was water bursting into the room, causing the door to break down, strike me in the face, and knock me out cold..."

Quinlan: "...!"

Emerson: "I think...I tried to wake up...but...all I can recall...I felt like I was surrounded by water...and...I felt it entering my mouth, my nose, and flooding my lungs...yet...I could not fight back...then that was it..."

Abraham: "Emerson...you died on-board the S.S. Anne...you drowned down there, trying to escape...Emerson..."

Axis: "Wait...you're a ghost? But...a regular one?"

Emerson: "I think I am...but..."

Quinlan: "I...I don't think that's a Missigno GHOST, boss..."

Axis: "Wait...who are you?"

Emerson: "I...I met your Pokemon friend here back on the S.S. Anne, good sir..."

Abraham: "No...oh no...Emerson...why? Why did you have to die?"

Emerson: "I am sure it could not possibly be your fault, chap. I must ask of you, sir...what the bloody hell happe--GAH! URK!"

Before Emerson could finish his question, he suddenly clutched his chest, the ghost of the now-deceased dapper human suddenly feeling a sharp pain.

The human-ghost apparition, having gotten used to his weightlessness, suddenly feels weighted down again, and collapses onto his knees, whilst still grabbing onto his torso.

The pain begins to subside, as he feels something odd in his chest...a heartbeat?

Emerson began to feel his heartbeat return into him, along with the feeling of breathing air in & out of his lungs again...

The kneeling ghost begins to materialize into a physical/tangible form, his transparent human shape slowly transforming into something slightly different.

His once-human ears slowly morphed into a pair of spiky appendages, now pointing upwards.

His clothes appeared to revert from their ectoplasmic form back into real clothes.

His once human-body retained it's general structure & size.

However, his skin complexion was no longer it's former human self...it had taken on this new, odd, purple coloration.

Emerson opens his eyes, now having become this strange, all-red color, with black irises.

The humanoid stands up, having fully materialized from a ghost of a human, into what appears to be a completely physical, and anthropomorphic ghost-like Pokemon...

In particular, Emerson has become a Gengar, a humanoid one at that.

The mysterious transformation now complete, the pain & odd sensation has subsided, and Emerson stands up, embracing his unexplained newfound form.

Axis: "Wait! What just happened?"

Abraham: "You...you're...you're a Pokemon now..."

Emerson: "Good lord..."

The Gengar inspects himself, looking at his hands, arms, and searching his body up & down.

Emerson: "Blimey...I...I am alive again?"

Axis: "I...I think you are..."

Quinlan: "Gyararawrawr?"

Nikolai: "Woah..."

Emerson: "But...how?"

Abraham, having finally staved off his night of supposed pain, finally opens his eyes, and slowly gets up out of the bed, taking a good look at the Gengar.

The Kadabra walks around the Gengar, trying to get a look for himself.

Abraham: "Yep...you totally are a Gengar. A humanoid & anthropomorphic one at that."

Emerson: "Bloody hell, I have turned into a Pokemon?"

Axis: "Yep...you totally have."

Emerson: "So, I have died, turned into a ghost, and re-animated as a ghost Pokemon?"

Nikolai: "Sounds about right..."

Abraham: "At least you still have your clothes."

Emerson: "I know, right? Good Lord, my flatcap, my vest, my dressy shirt, my pants, and even my dressy shoes & socks are suddenly dry & clean again. I could have sworn I was just waterlogged..."

Quinlan: "This...is...just...weird."

Nikolai: "I know right, Quin?"

Axis: "Looks like we truly do learn something new everyday."

Abraham: "I think we are far from done learning too..."

[END TRANSMISSION]

12-16-2010 1:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Well, this has been quite the day so far. It seems like whatever messed with our psychic powers is gone now. Or at least...Abraham & I gradually regained control of our abilities when that ghost of the man Abraham met on-board the S.S. Anne showed up & materialized into a Pokemon; Gengar I think?

We got Emerson up to speed, as far as what happened on-board the S.S. Anne the day it sank, as a result of the out-of-control gym battle between our team, and Sgt. Surge. Emerson gave us his perspective of what he remembers from that day. From what I'm starting to piece together based on all of this, it looks like there were casualties on the ship after all. Either the explosions killed some people or Pokemon, or some were unable to escape the ensuing rushing water, and unfortunately succumbed to drowning. Looks like poor Emerson here was one of those who could not make it out in time.

I feel so bad now...even though Sgt. Surge was the one who tried to set that exploding Voltorb on us, it was OUR gym battle in happened in. Surge wanted to fight hard, and play dirty, just as he had in previous battles with other trainers before. Nikolai...he didn't have full control of his immense power, and the Nidoking ended up overdoing it. In retrospect, an eye for an eye, I guess? But still...the S.S. Anne sinking was collateral damage gone really wrong. Survivors reassured me after the fact that based on how well they were aware of Sgt. Surge's out-of-control way of battling, some sort of fatal cataclysm on the S.S. Anne was bound to happen eventually. Doesn't help take away the guilt...'survivor's guilt' at that...

12-16-2010 3:00 PM (Abraham's perspective)
I am feeling much better now than I was last night, and this morning. But...I cannot forget what I saw, what I felt, what I sensed. I do not think what I was experiencing was my own body seizing up. I think...it was more of an S.O.S. signal. I could feel them...the plights & deaths of my fellow psychic fox brethren. Other Kadabra who have passed away ever since this pandemic began.

I most vividly remember one particular Kadabra...he let his guard down...I think it was against this big serpentine Pokemon...it was inside this tower, like an indoor cemetery of sorts. All of a sudden, I could feel the Kadabra having been struck by the much bigger dragon...it was almost as if...I was him. I felt everything...his spinal cord breaking...his body crashing against the wall inside the tower...his lungs deflating & failing...his tearful goodbye to his trainer...it was a female trainer...I think there were other Pokemon there too...an Ivysaur...a Nidoqueen...a Butterfree...that Kadabra left a loving team behind...

I felt helpless...I could not tell if these were happening in real time...or if they were flashbacks to the past...or if they were even premonitions to the future. I need to tell Master Axis about this. Not just him, I need to get him to tell Dr. Oak. He needs to warn any & all trainers who also have a Kadabra...my species...we're dying out...Pokemon are dying left & right from this wretched disease. But my species in particular...I fear we are in danger of a complete exodus...total obliteration, and eventual extinction. I have to save my kind...I have to save...everyone...

12-16-2010 7:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Abraham told me everything that he experienced. Turns out, he was never in any danger to begin with; apparently, it was him sensing the pain of others within his species. I imagine it was something like a radio frequency, but with Psychic Pokemon & some sort of common area in some sort of mental/telekinetic spectrum. I knew it was time to go to Dr. Fuji, and consult with him on this whole mess.

12-16-2010 8:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
We made it to Dr. Fuji's home, on the other side of this still-eerie town we're in. The moment we entered, I saw several Pokemon, mostly smaller/younger Pokemon. Dr. Fuji has been taking in Pokemon abandoned by or separated from their trainers, or Pokemon taken away from potentially abusive trainers or dangerous situations. This was definitely very similar to what I had been doing for the entirety of my time here in the Kanto region. Between rescuing Abraham as an Abra from that Missigno GHOST raid, and taking Mitch away from his former abusive living situation, I knew. I had a feeling I was not the only one who saw this entire crisis as a wakeup call to the increasingly dangerous societal climate for the Pokemon much of this society has taken for granted. It feels great to finally be meeting with someone else who has been hard at work with advocating for the increased awareness of saving Pokemon from dangerous situations, the Nuzlocke Disorder Pandemic at the top of the list.

I think the only thing I remain confused about is what on Earth caused my psychic powers (Abraham's too) to completely shut down, fail, and be straight-up prevented from working at all. Not even just that, I wanna know WHY they weren't working at all. Then there's the whole enigma behind how did Emerson's ghost of his human self somehow conveniently show up where we were, and more than that, transform into a Ghost Pokemon. Also, if he is supposed to be a Ghost Pokemon now, why is his body completely tangible & whatnot, as if he's totally alive, complete with flesh & blood no less? Looks like this is another mystery that has yet to be unraveled. Just when I thought I made enough sense of Nuzlocke Disorder, the humanoid Pokemon occurrences, and the whole Poke Ball conspiracy...

12-17-2010 12:00 MN (Emerson's perspective)
Good evening, chaps. Allow me to introduce myself.

I am Emerson Grovehart, Former President of The Evolutionary Stone Club.

I was originally born, and raised in the lovely metropolis of Wyndon, Galar.

I graduated from the University of Saffron Central at a right smart age of 22, earning my degree in Pokemon Evolutionary Studies.

Since then, I have been spending the past decade traveling back, and forth between Wedgehurst, Wyndon, and Vermilion.

I furthered my own studies, and helped to establish an organization that has been putting forth some hard work towards understanding the differing evolutionary methods of Pokemon across our eight regions from Kanto through Galar.

I eventually opened The Evolutionary Stone Club on this lovely cruise liner that used to travel internationally between Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Galar.

When this sickness knackered all of Pokemon society, I have remained in the Kanto region for the last year, before everything happening recently.

I am not used to this new body, which is a right sight different from my human self.

But bloody hell, do I find myself intrigued by what I can do, now that I am a Pokemon.

As a Gengar, I am capable of quite a few things, if I may say so myself.

My good sir Mr. Johansson here has helped me realize that I seem to have my own psychic power too, much like his own, and even his trainer, Dr. Vactaire.

I wondered how well my combat skills I learned at 25 years old in my human life would translate into being a Gengar.

Good Lord, have they translated well.

I threw out a punch, and these odd ghostly shadows seem to ensue every time; almost like a shadowy sort of punch.

I tested out my flexibility, and swung my foot upwards, in a kicking sort of fashion.

Blimey, my feet have these pointed claws now, and they leave these interesting shadowy entrails whenever I swing my legs around to perform a kick.

It appears that as a Gengar, I have learned Psychic, Shadow Punch, and even Shadow Claw.

I must say, I am most intrigued by this sudden development that has unfolded in the past week or so.

I do not seem to have anywhere else I can go at the moment, so for the time being, I am joining Dr. Vactaire's rather charming posse.

I am at least familiar with Mr. Johansson, who has helped me get acquainted with these other marvelous Pokemon on their team, and of course their trainer too.

I hope to bring about something extraordinary out of this abrupt change in lifestyle, but at least I am not dead.

After writing this entire entry out, I realized afterwards it was way too long, and that it could clearly be split into two entries, one for the action bit, one for the dialogue & actual entry afterwards. However, I have decided against that & will instead put this out as is. Also, to those of you who may not be aware, when I first discovered the Nuzlocke Community/Scene back in 2013, Pettyartist was one of the first Nuzlocke Comics I watched & followed since I discovered it. I owe much of my motivation to Petty (who remains a big inspiration to me), and I thought I'd give the fellow Nuzlocker a nice big cameo/shoutout in Nuzlockology, as my way of giving back to a community I am happy to have become a part of since then.

Personal Report #38 (December 18, 2010):

12-17-2010 8:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
After all that stuff that unfolded back there, we're finally back home in Saffron Central. Obviously this sudden development of Emerson dying as a human, only for his ghost to rematerialize back to life, albeit as a Pokemon, is all new territory to all of us (even Abraham & myself). None of our current combined research has covered anything related to ghosts, particularly the Missigno GHOSTs & the reasoning behind their existence in the midst of this pandemic. Not even Dr. Fuji's own research, nor Emerson's past studies have given any of us any sufficient leads. Although, Emerson himself & his anomalous 'reincarnation' from a human into a Pokemon might help in some way.

12-17-2010 10:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
So...Emerson has been here for sometime, and I can tell he is having a rough time adapting to his sudden life change. For starters, despite Emerson retaining his height, build, and general body shape, he has after all just recently turned into a Ghost Pokemon from the ghost of a human. Secondly, he fears that because he is no longer his old self, he can never be able to go back to his old life of luxury & whatnot.

Then again, he says he now vividly remembers his entire past life in his old body, which means he is at least able to find a way to access his monetary assets by ordering a new bank card. However, it'd have to be mailed to this home's address, as opposed to his actual old home's address, wherever that old home may be. One thing he requested of me at some point is that I take him shopping at the Celadon Mall, so that he can buy more sets of his current outfit for himself...at least once he gets the new bank card in the mail. I have to imagine this guy must've been really rich or something...

P.S. This time, everyone else is staying behind at home, while Emerson & I head out to the Celadon Mall. I'm not doing a repeat of what happened last time I took the team shopping. Abraham can watch over everyone else while we're out & about for the day (I hope).

12-17-2010 2:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
I know I have been repeatedly expressing my constant fascination over how the unusually anthropomorphic Pokemon on our team (pretty much everyone else besides Scorch) are able to nonchalantly perform regular human tasks & exhibit perfectly human behavior. But I have to say, having Emerson on the team has really put into perspective the sort of societal divide between Pokemon & their trainers. I even had to remind myself at one point Emerson was a Pokemon, not a human. It really makes me want to further my ultimate goal of establishing a more even playing field of equity, as far as giving Pokemon more of the rights that non-Pokemon humanoids & humans have. But to be perfectly honest, it's become such a gray area, since as stated previously, you have the completely animalistic/mammalian/feral Pokemon, you have the partially humanoid (but not necessarily fully anthropomorphic) Pokemon, and then you have the fully humanoid Pokemon (i.e.; most of our team).

Anyways, Emerson & I have just finished having lunch (which was a hassle, because this posh Gengar insisted on something higher class & more expensive than straight-up diner/fast food). We are now browsing the shops here inside the mall, and already I can tell Emerson has frequented this mall in the past. Actually, more than that, Emerson seems to know this entire region better than I do. Looks like he's really gotten around during his human days, which are obviously behind him now.

12-17-2010 7:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
OK...finally...made it...back...home. That was easily the longest shopping trip of my entire life (during my time in the Kanto region, at least). I'm pretty sure this was the most money I have spent in one go. But it's all good though, I wanted to do this for Emerson. He did say he was gonna pay me back once he gets his new bank card in the mail (hopefully that's soon). We successfully found & purchased a few more matching sets of Emerson's current attire, much to his delight.

However, when we set foot inside the mall's general merchandise retailer (something that felt like a Target back home in NYC)...I learned something new & big about Emerson. Apparently this guy also has some pretty solid knowledge in culinary arts. I noticed he was stocking up on different kitchen tools, utensils, appliances, and food ingredients. When he saw my cart with the usual frozen/junk/quick-prep food items I have normally been buying for either myself, or for the team, Emerson eventually gave me this Gordon Ramsay-like stare of disapproval, before continuing his own shopping. I have a feeling this home's kitchen is about to get much busier than ever before.

12-17-2010 11:00 PM (Emerson's perspective)
Dr. Axis has insisted I format my entries in a more optimized fashion, which I bloody hell did not understand at all. Confound it all, but nevertheless I shall comply.

Yesterday's shopping trip with Dr. Axis has been quite the outing for the both of us. I am more certainly enjoying his company, and I can sense with these newfound psychic powers he is enjoying my company as well. The bloke is a psychic himself, and he (along with Mr. Johansson) has helped me get used to my new body. However, he has most certainly lost the plot, if he thinks I am going to eat any of that rubbish he took to the till, and purchased for our team. I mean, chips? Biscuits? Crisps? Cheap food meant for university folks? Bloody hell, sir! Eat a little cleaner for once!

12-18-2010 2:00 AM (Emerson's perspective)
After I finished sorting the new stuff Dr. Axis, and meself have purchased at that shopping mall, the rest of the team has went to bed for the night. I can tell they all appear to be knackered from the past several days. I know I am all knackered meself. However, I sensed someone walking into the lounge, feeling restless. It was Mr. Pyron, the team's starter Pokemon. He has confided in me, over feeling out of place on the team from looking different from everybody else. I could sense his feeling of alienation, the poor bloke. I shall clue in Dr. Axis on this matter when he wakes up in the morning. Perhaps Mr. Pyron may wish to return home to South Pallet, and be taken care of by Dr. Oak. I suppose Mr. Pyron will be just fine under his care, and it may be for the best with the kind of dangers our team has been subject to from what I have been told.

Personal Report #39 (December 19, 2010):

12-19-2010 9:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
I had a talk with Scorch this morning...and already I knew what the issue was. I could tell from what I've been sensing lately that the rather shorter, smaller, weaker, and not-so-anthro Charmeleon felt out of place on the team as of late. We agreed that it would be best that similar to the Pokemon we rescued from the illicitly-run casino back in Celadon, Scorch should be sent back to Southern Pallet, and remain under Dr. Oak's care.

To be fair, we've been going through some freaky stuff the whole time we've been out here in this messed up region. Between the multiple Missigno GHOST mob attacks, the increasingly dangerous gym battles, and whatever happened back there east of Saffron Central in that spooky nightmare town...Scorch would be much safer if he stayed to the side for the time being. We've discussed this with the rest of the team in a little group meeting, and everyone is on-board with this idea. Everyone said their goodbyes to Scorch, who wished us all the best of luck, before being sent off back to the Southern Pallet Pokemon Laboratory, where he will be in better hands.

12-19-2010 2:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Emerson confided in me about something...something I clearly let slip my mind, with everything going on lately. The next Pokemon Gym Battle Facility is located in this greenhouse/florist center in the western segment of Celadon. Somehow I never knew this the entire time, but obviously Emerson did. However, that wasn't the main reason why he brought it up as a topic of conversation.

Emerson sensed my reluctance towards Pokemon Gym Battles, ever since the S.S. Anne incident with the battle against the now-late Sgt. Surge. But, I've been reassured that none of it was our fault. A bit of survivor's guilt, I guess...but anyways, Emerson also brought up the fact that because of the kind of Pokemon expected for us to face the next gym battle, Scorch would've been the ideal candidate for such an endeavor. However, as I have literally just sent him back to Southern Pallet for his own wellbeing & safety, I now need to have someone else take Scorch's place in this next gym battle.

Well let's see...Scorch took part in the Pewter City Gym Battle. Then, Quinlan [over]did the Cerulean City Gym Battle. Finally, Nikolai was put in the line of danger (well, we all were) on the S.S. Anne for the Port Vermilion Gym Battle. So, I figured...I should give everyone else on the team a turn. However, Abraham appears to be busy with research again, since now he's become curious over deciphering the origin of the Missigno GHOSTs once & for all. Then, you have Mitch, who has expressed lacking sufficient experience to be ready for something as serious as a gym battle.

So...that narrows it down to none other than Emerson himself. Thankfully, he appears to also have some extent of psychic power, not unlike Abraham & myself. As a rather sharp & wise Gengar, he has been learning very quickly how to develop & properly control his own psychic abilities. This is in addition to the ghostly techniques he has fashioned, as an iteration of the physical combat skills he remembers from his time as a human.

12-19-2010 4:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Emerson decided to do a demonstration of his current attacking techniques, which he plans on employing in this upcoming battle inside the Celadon Gym Battle Facility. Mitch volunteered to be his battling partner, both men mutually agreeing to training one another using just their punching/kicking attacks. After a bit of training, I could already tell Emerson was somehow simply just inherently battle-ready, which impressed me a fair amount. So, with the reassurance having convinced me, Emerson & I have decided to make our way to the Celadon Gym Battle Facility, while the others stayed behind at home.

12-19-2010 5:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
We just arrived here at the greenhouse, and as much as I have been repeatedly told not to think back to the incident back in Port Vermilion, I simply can't take it off my mind. Going through something like that has only made me even more protective of the team. They've grown on me, you know. I haven't gotten to know them for that long, but already we've become trusting friends with one another. I couldn't possibly imagine what it would be like having to lose any of them to Nuzlocke Disorder, and thus be taken away from the living world. I just hope this next gym battle goes much smoother than the previous ones, because right now I am having second thoughts.

[BOOTING UP TRANS-FEED]

[COMMENCE TRANSMISSION]

Emerson stepped out onto the battlefield, before he was confronted by some sort of plant-based Pokemon, which fashioned a gigantic flower atop it's head & body.

Emerson waited for the opposing Vileplume to throw the first strike, which soon enough it did.

An odd purple liquidy substance was shot towards Emerson, who used his quick thinking & reflexes to dodge out of the way.

The Gengar looks back, seeing how the gunky stuff landed in some plants, and began to corrode them with little effort.

Emerson: "Blimey...an Acid attack. That shall most certainly damage my clothes, if I am not careful."

Emerson, choosing to keep his distance, simply waited for the Vileplume to shoot out another Acid attack.

The second shot was launched, and Emerson used his psychic power to redirect it away, around, and behind himself gracefully, before launching it back at the Vileplume.

The gunk splashes all over it's petals, and begins corroding them, resulting in a flailing panic from the Grass-type.

With his opponent now distracted, Emerson retaliated with his own attack from a distance, by using his psychic ability to levitate the panicking Vileplume into the air.

Soon, Emerson's spiky ears perked up, his red eyes began glowing, and he proceeded to telekinetically spin the Vileplume in mid-air, almost as if like a giant top.

The Vileplume helplessly spins rapidly in place, and becomes too dizzy to fight after about a minute of being spun around.

Emerson soon sets the defeated Vileplume down, having just realized what he did after the fact, and now feeling a sense of regret, having just won his first gym battle (according to the referee).

Apparently, the gym battle was nowhere near as long as Emerson recalled it being before for other trainers who challenged it in the past.

[END TRANSMISSION]

12-19-2010 8:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
As a bit of a post-gym update, we have not only received the official Gym Badge, respective prize money, and TM for our anti-climatic victory today at the Celadon Greenhouse Gym, we also just received the previous gym's badge, prize money (with a huge additional bonus as compensation for the danger & trouble we were put through to get it), and TM. It arrived in the mail back in the Southern Pallet Pokemon Laboratory, and Dr. Oak forwarded it to our current home in Central Saffron.

Emerson expressed some concern over the more recent gym battle though, despite how it was extremely easy & painless, compared to the previous ones. Apparently, the gym leader (named Erika Greene) used to have more Pokemon to her name in the past. Particularly, she used to have an Ivysaur, a Victreebel, and a Tangela. Nowadays, all she has left surviving is her Vileplume, whom she has been taking care of since her childhood from a baby Oddish. However, the Nuzlocke Disorder pandemic appears to have cost the lives of her other Pokemon over time. It seems that even the Gym Leader Trainers in all this have been impacted by this increasingly deadly outbreak, and everything that has resulted from it. I would've never truly realized it from the past three gym facilities I have went through up to this point in time.

12-19-2010 9:30 PM (Axis' perspective)
In the meantime, we are now back at home for the night. Emerson's showering off in the bathroom, while I am now sorting out the laundry. Thankfully, I can take care of it here at home, with a new washing machine/dryer we purchased pretty recently from the Celadon Mall. Once that's done, I'm probably just gonna order delivery from the diner across the street. I know Emerson insisted on cooking for the team from here on out, but tonight he deserves a break after today's battle.

As of right now, I have no idea what lays ahead, what we should be doing next, or where we should even be going next (if there is somewhere else to go). I know at the very least there are eight badges in total I am supposed to collect, which means we are now halfway there. I think for the time being, I'm just going to give the team & myself sometime to breathe, rest, and relax. This could also give Abraham, Emerson, and myself some time to focus on research from the comfort & safety of here at home. Plus...with the holidays drawing near, I have to wonder if everything might be closing soon for Christmas Break anyways, assuming the Pokemon regions celebrate & observe Christmas (and New Year's).

Meanwhile...in another region somewhere far southwest from Kanto & Johto...

Inside a Pokemon Laboratory in a coastal town on the southern edge of the Hoenn region...

A machine has just finished incubating an orange egg with a small yellow flame-shaped crest symbol on it.

The egg wriggles around, and soon after, it hatches.

A tiny baby chick-like Pokemon slowly breaks out of it's eggshell.

The Pokemon is greeted by it's caretaker, Dr. Birleigh "Birch" Odamaki.

The Hoennian Pokemon Professor spends the next month taking care of the hatchling.

Fast forward to the present, the young chicken Pokemon has grown mostly orange feathers on his body, with yellow feathers covering his short, stubby wings, and a flame-shaped yellow/orange crest on his head, similar to the symbol on the egg he hatched out of a month ago.

Dr. Birch has been monitoring & studying this particular Pokemon specimen for some time, after realizing he developed the ability to walk at an unusually accelerated rate, compared to others of his species the professor has taken care of before in the past.

However, this particular specimen, part of a Pokemon species called, "Torchic," appears to be an outcast amongst the clutch of similarly-aged Torchic the professor has been caring for, potentially a loner by the professor's observations & predictions.

It appears that this particular Torchic not only developed his ability to walk earlier than usual, he generally moves faster than an average Torchic of his current age.

Dr. Birch, whilst sympathetic for this oddball outcast of a Torchic, remains intrigued by it's distinctive uniqueness from other Torchic Dr. Birch has incubated & taken care of, and thus decides to study this particular chick more closely.

Personal Report #41 (December 21, 2010):

12-21-2010 8:30 PM (Axis' perspective)
It took all of the past few days of downtime, but we finally managed to find some leads on how the Missigno GHOSTs tie into this whole crisis. As a result, we have more or less completed the puzzle, so to speak. Allow me to explain...

When a Pokemon in question dies from Nuzlocke Disorder (or rather, dies whilst being a carrier of Nuzlocke Disoder), the Poke Ball system & the Pokemon Storage System do not know how to properly handle, store, or transport the now lifeless Pokemon body. Normally, a Poke Ball properly detects if a Pokemon is dead, and then treats the Pokemon as if it no longer 'belongs' to that Poke Ball (as if it were released, or a non-match to the Poke Ball, or otherwise unfit to be electronically stored inside the Poke Ball itself).

But apparently, this failsafe has not been configured to detect this in a carrier of a Nuzlocke Disorder who has died. Most likely, the electromagnetic radiation that triggered the symptoms of Nuzlocke Disorder in the first place is to blame for the overriding or failure of this 'dead-or-alive' detection mechanic. As a result, said body eventually starts to decompose, even digitally from within the Poke Ball. This makes any attempt to store the dead Pokemon back in the ball/PC a horrible mistake, as found out by the first wave of cases/trainers who had no idea what was going on when Nuzlocke Disorder had first broken out.

The internal digital decomposition causes a gradual scrambling & corruption of the internal data & information. As a result, the decaying Pokemon starts to leak some of the electromagnetic/nuclear radiation caused by Nuzlocke Disorder, and conflicting with the radiation emitter in the Poke Ball’s mechanism itself (akin to a hot vat of oil boiling over & catching onto the flame below it). The resulting out-of-control oscillation starts to corrupt the digital information/composition/makeup of the Pokemon inside the ball even further.

The Pokemon’s spirit begins to leave the Pokemon’s body, responding to said corruption & radiation leakage. The ongoing digital decomposition & oscillatory behavior causes an ectoplasmic manifestation, and the creation of the malevolent/rogue Missigno GHOSTs, out of the first waves of Pokemon who developed & died from Nuzlocke Disorder. However, it seems that the general public is unaware of all of this going on, so chances are more Missigno GHOSTs may be soon to appear in subsequent invasions & raids. But at the very least, trainers are gradually being instructed by regional professors & Pokemon Center Medical Personel alike not to attempt to use their Poke Balls or the Pokemon Storage/Electronic Transportation System on any deceased Pokemon.

So how have we been able to finally get to this developing breakthrough? Well, apparently Emerson’s manifestation from the departed spirit of his former human self into a Gengar relies on an uncorrupted version of this same process that manifests the creation of the Missigno GHOSTs. This helps him retain his human memory/traits/conscience, whilst giving him the newfound Gengar abilities & powers his now has, and having manifested as an actual ghost-like Pokemon, as opposed to the more rogue Missigno GHOSTs instead. Emerson’s existence & coming-to-being has helped us make a lot more sense of the conception of the Missigno GHOST spawn.

But in the end, we need to relay all of this information to Dr. Oak, in the hopes that this could help potentially combat the increasing rate at which Missigno GHOSTs have been popping up. We may be far from how to actually do something about this pandemic, but at least now we know enough about what we're up against during this troubling time. I'm talking about looking into possible embargoes & boycotts of the current Poke Ball system, rolling out big-scale measures to properly handling the bodies of Nuzlocke Disorder carriers who have died, maybe opening more crematory/mortuary facilities than the very few just this region alone seems to have at the moment. Whatever this mess of a society can do to at least try to combat part of the problem. But...Abraham has been acting unusually skeptical lately...he's telling me that this kind of information can't simply just be put out there. Which...I honestly did not expect him to figure out so quickly. The concept of classified information & how to properly handle it in a low-profile manner has come naturally to this fellow psychic I have only spent maybe a month mentoring. I'm so proud...

This is the bit of Nuzlockology that has been inspired by what I feel is an unlikely source of inspiration for a Nuzlocke series. Pokemon Creepypasta, or more particularly, the Missigno GHOST from Pokemon Scary Black. Now...I for one am way too faint-hearted (literally so; I have tachycardia & afib) for scary shit or jumpscare stuff in general. BUT...the very idea of including the Missigno/GHOST concept in an actual Nuzlocke storyline/headcanon just...it's the topper to this ginormous cake, and it just had to be implemented. It's the ultimate end product & consequence of the Nuzlocke Disorder Pandemic, and thus one of the main antagonists in the Nuzlockology realm.

Meanwhile...back at Sevault Canyon, the small green reptilian Pokemon from before is hanging around with his fellow earthen Pokemon neighbors.

In particular, the Larvitar is moving around the area, accompanied by a ragtag team consisting of a Geodude, Onix, Cubone, and Phanpy (with Onix leading the way as the biggest).

The terra-posse discovers a rare patch of berries in a small grassy oasis in the midst of the otherwise rocky environment, and feasts upon their findings.

It appears that they all enjoyed the multitude of mostly pink, sweet berries (mostly Pecha, Persim, and Nanab; a few Magost in the mix).

After finishing their feast, they continue their daily trek through the valley, and eventually happen upon a sleeping Skarmory.

The crew come up with an idea for pure amusement.

The Onix acts as a makeshift ramp, and has the four smaller Pokemon climb up on it.

After being given the signal, the four smaller Pokemon leap off the Onix, and glomp the sleeping Skarmory to spook it awake.

The metal-covered avian squawks wide awake, flaps it's wings, and begins flying around, while Geodude, Cubone, Phanpy, and Larvitar try their best to ride on it's back.

The Onix watches & begins chasing after the others for a while.

Eventually, the Larvitar notices the Skarmory is about to blindly run into the side of a mountain, and tells the others to jump off.

They all leap down, and stick the landing on the ground below.

They look up & watch as the Skarmory crashes into solid rock wall, tumbles down, and plops onto the ground, in a daze.

The four small earthen Pokemon laugh at the Skarmory's expense, as Onix finally catches up to everyone, all tuckered out from slithering quickly in hot pursuit.

The Onix looks at the Skarmory, then back at the four smaller Pokemon in disapproval, albeit whilst simultaneously amused at the large metal bird's silly predicament.

Personal Report #43 (December 23, 2010):

12-22-2010 7:00 AM (Emerson's perspective)
It appears Dr. Axis, and everyone else on my team are all still in the middle of their nightly kips. I may as well begin preparing some morning nosh for them, and a cup of tea to perk myself up for the day.

12-22-2010 8:30 AM (Emerson's perspective)
Just as planned, the sound of the tea kettle has woken the other blokes for the morning. Some of them are quick to rise. The others, not so much. Luckily, Mr. Oceanside has taken the initiative to ensure the rest of the team wakes up, albeit not in the gentlest fashion.

12-22-2010 10:00 AM (Emerson's perspective)
While Mr. Johansson helps Dr. Axis clean up after we finished breakfast, I decided to take a gander at something I had a hunch about earlier.

-----

Axis & Abraham begin telekinetically cleaning the dining table, utensils, dishes, cups, and bowls.

Meanwhile, Emerson went into the living room, in search of something.

The Gengar telekinetically shifts a cupboard to the side, revealing a door behind it.

Emerson opens the door, and there's a closet inside, revealing several boxes covered in dust.

The box Emerson desired is levitated into the living room, and the team gathers around curiously, as it is opened.

There are some Christmas decor in the box, conveniently reminding the team Christmas was right around the corner.

The team decides to spend the rest of the day putting the decorations up.

There was even a Christmas tree somewhere in the back of the closet that was pulled out, cleaned up, and set up in a corner of the living room.

-----

12-22-2010 9:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Man, how could I have forgotten all about the holiday season? I guess my time in this region as a Pokemon trainer (and with research time keeping me busy) has distracted me from other things I normally do back in NYC. At least Emerson caught on, and was onto something earlier.

Anyways, Emerson & I are taking a later than usual grocery trip to the Celadon Mall, while the others stay put at home. Abraham is continuing with Nuzlocke Disorder research, while keeping a watchful eye on the rest of the team. Quinlan, Nikolai, and Mitch are just outside, doing a little casual, friendly training in front of the house.

Emerson insisted that we buy some particular ingredients for some Christmas dinner recipes he remembers from his human days. But, I'm still buying the stuff I normally buy myself for this time of the year regardless. I imagine restaurants & businesses might likely be closed on Christmas Day here in the Kanto region, so I'm planning ahead for that.

12-22-2010 1:00 AM (Mitch's perspective)
Just finished training with Quinlan & Nikolai. Oh boy, I can't wait for us to celebrate Christmas soon. I never get to celebrate anything back at the dojo, so this is a weird change for me. Hell, I'm not used to having downtime between fighting sessions or battles. This much breathing time makes me worried I'm letting master down, but then he reassures me this is OK. He's a really nice guy, and everyone's been very friendly & welcoming so far. I'm really happy to be out of there, and here now.

12-23-2010 6:45 AM (Quinlan's perspective)
Gyaraawrawr, is boss gonna let us do another gym battle soon? There's a facility right here in Saffron, but he's busy being a nerd & stuff. That new ghost guy ain't helpin' either. At least my spiky boi Nikolai agrees with me, so we started training with that knucklehead in the karate outfit, Mitch. Gotta break him in & teach him how to fight like a real brute man. Someone gotta knock some sense into Axis, so he can let us do a nice big battle again soon.

Meanwhile...back inside Dr. Birch's Pokemon Laboratory in Southern Hoenn, the unusually fast, young Torchic from before is looking out a window.

Dr. Birch notices this behavior, and realizes it's still outcast from the rest of the Torchic clutch.

Feeling sympathetic towards the odd 'mon out, he decides to take the Speed Boost Torchic with him, while he does some last minute food shopping for Christmas.

The two head to a town inland, somewhere north of Littleroot Harbor.

After about an hour of walking, Dr. Birch & the young Torchic accompanying him arrive in Oldale Village.

They end up going into a local, family-owned grocer, to do their shopping in.

The professor begins picking out different foods in a hurry, as he didn't want to spend too much time away from the lab.

However, he soon remembers his daughter, Maybeline "May" Odamaki, is watching over the lab at the moment, so the professor decides to slow down & take his time.

The quick-footed Torchic chirps in delight, upon seeing something he likes, much to Dr. Birch's curiosity.

Dr. Birch realizes the Torchic appears to want a Charcoal Charm, which would help him develop his Fire-type powers much more efficiently, and compensate for his lack of a Blaze ability.

The professor decides to purchase the power-boosting item, along with the rest of the food he has picked up to prepare back at home for Christmas (including some food for the Torchic too).

The two finish up at the store, and begin making their way back to the lab.

As they leave Oldale Village, someone watches from a distance, whilst hiding in a tree.

Is someone spying on them?

If so, what do they want?

What do they need?

No one knows...

After Dr. Birch & the Torchic get too far away, the supposed spy attempts to get out of the tree.

Before they can, a sleeping wild Seedot falls out of a higher tree branch, and lands on the mysterious spy.

Upon being bonked, the spy knocked out cold by the hard-shelled acorn Pokemon & falls to the ground, all in a comedic manner.

The Seedot remains asleep after falling off too, and end up rolling away.

Personal Report #45 (December 25, 2010):

12-25-2010 11:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
It is Christmas morning, and a thick layer of snow has blanketed the city in a bright & white wintry wonderland. Emerson & I spent all of yesterday (and the day before) in the kitchen, preparing various foods & dishes for the household.

12-25-2010 1:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
With the rest of the team now wide awake & ready for the day, we gather around in the living room. I hand out a present to each team member, and each Pokemon takes their turn opening up their gift. Don't worry about Scorch, I sent him some sort of charm necklace meant for Fire-type Pokemon like him. The charm itself was some sort of compressed, petrified, and polished chunk of burnt wood, in a nifty little cylindrical shape.

Nikolai opened up his present first; a Quick Claw wristband, consisting of an ivory-based claw, fitted onto a heavy-duty leather band.

Then, Quinlan opened his up next; a Mystic water necklace, made of braided rope sourced from driftwood pulp, with a blue, teardrop-shaped gem containing water.

Abraham was gifted with a second Twistedspoon to accompany his trustee Twistedspoon-Comet Shard item. In addition, I spent yesterday fitting his Twistedspoon into necklace, so Abraham can wear it, whilst wielding the new one.

Afterwards, Mitch opened his box & embraced his gift; a Focus Band, a sort of red headband, adorned with flame patterns.

Finally, Emerson got to open his gift; a Miracle Seed ring (easily the most expensive of the bunch) to complement the new Giga Drain technique he learned from the TM we were given as part of our winnings from the fairly recent Celadon Gym Battle a week ago.

We embraced one another afterwards, thankful to be together, healthy, and alive for this celebration.

Afterwards, some of the boys decide go out in the snow for some Christmas funsies.

-----

At Axis' recommendation, Nikolai remains inside the house, since the cold & icy environment would be hazardous for his health, given his Ground-typing.

The Nidoking does not mind however, and decides to help the hooded/cloaked trainer with preparing the dining area for tonight's Christmas dinner.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team is playing out front.

Abraham & Emerson begin building various ice/snow sculptures, using their psychic powers, which they are currently honing in the hopes of improving them.

Quinlan & Mitch decide to throw snowballs at one another.

Quinlan dodges one particular snowball, as it heads towards Abraham, who is busy building stuff.

The Kadabra yips loudly upon feeling the sudden freezing cold sensation hit, the moment the snowball strikes.

Quinlan snickers at the now-shivering psychic fox, before being swept by a wave of snow from Emerson.

The Gyarados falls onto the icy ground, and flails around whilst squeaking in a starled manner, before getting back up, and shaking the snow off of himself.

Quinlan throws another snowball, this time at Emerson, who briefly turns himself translucent via his ghostly abilities.

The snowball phases through the Gengar, and thumps the window behind him.

The noise startles Nikolai, who was inside, helping Axis with preparation.

The spooked Nidoking drops a metal bowl, which hits the floor with a loud clang, while some water spills & splashes on his feet.

Axis ignores the others horsing around outside, and helps Nikolai clean up.

Whilst Quinlan is distracted, Mitch sneaks up behind him, and bonks the Gyarados on the head with an Ice Punch.

The serpentine amphibian suddenly finds himself frozen in place, and encased in a solid coating of ice.

Annoyed by this funny predicament, Quinlan hisses, and vibrates intensely, quickly breaking out of his icy prison.

The Gyarados rawrs out at his Hitmonchan teammate, and begins chasing him, while Abraham & Emerson watch in pure amusement, before they take part in the chase shortly after, to stop Quinlan from beating Mitch up.

Inside the kitchen, Axis is putting together a cheesy & tomato-laden lasagna for the team, while he & Nikolai hear a loud thud & the sound of snow falling off from the house's front porch awning.

The hooded, cloaked-face psychic rolls his glowy eyes, and simply continues assembling the lasagna, ignoring his team being silly.

-----

12-25-2010 9:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
After hours of Nikolai & I going back & forth between the kitchen & the dining area, we were finally ready for tonight's Christmas dinner. After the snowy ruckus got too out of hand, I called the rest of the team to come back in. At least they got a chance to clean themselves off, warm up, and rest before dinner.

12-25-2010 11:00 PM (Emerson's perspective)
Good lord, that was the most exceptional nosh I have ever had at a Christmas dinner in a long time. Everyone else enjoyed what I cooked for them, and even Dr. Axis' cooking was real dandy. The lasagna was a tad rich in the ingredients he used for it, but delicious nonetheless. I most especially appreciate the gift I have received from him.

I have to be honest, considering my life has suddenly taken quite a turn, I am thankful to be alive at the very least. I am especially thankful to be spending the holidays with this loving, welcoming team. Dr. Axis has been doing a gobsmacking good job at not only training us, but taking care of all of us as well. For someone who has not been a Pokemon trainer for that long, he sure seems to know what he is doing. I wish him, and our team a Merry Christmas.

Meanwhile...at the Southern Pallet Pokemon Laboratory, Dr. Samuel Oak receives an envelope from Axis' team.

Enclosed, are some letters, and something meant for Scorch; the Charcoal charm necklace Axis sent to Scorch as a Christmas gift.

The professor hands the item over to the eager Fire starter, who had finally evolved into a Charizard a few days ago.

The dragon flaps his newly developed wings happily upon putting on the gift from his trainer.

Dr. Oak then opens the other letters, and sees they are all written either by Axis, or Abraham.

The professor reads through the life updates from the team, and then...

He reads the classified information letter from Abraham, about the team's breakthrough regarding Nuzlocke Disorder, and all of the phenomena that has been happening ever since it's initial outbreak.

In particular, the bit about the Poke Ball system, the new anthropomorphic evolutionary sub-branching, the Missigno GHOSTs, and most importantly...how everything ties together to Nuzlocke Disorder in this sequential domino effect (in almost a Rube Goldberg sort of way) piqued the professor's interest.

At the same time, it made him realize why the team has not been contacting him via video calls, and why he needs to keep quiet about this potentially forbidden information he now knows.

Dr. Oak looks back & forth, to make sure no one else is around, and he returns the letters into the envelope, hiding it on his person afterwards.

He steps out of the lab for a moment, to look for his granddaughter Daisy Oak, who is nearby.

Personal Report #47 (December 27, 2010):

12-27-2010 11:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
After celebrating Christmas the other day, we spent all of yesterday pretty much just resting. Well...most of us, anyway. Quinlan found another gym facility at some point. Apparently, it just so happens to be here in Saffron Central. The Gyarados begged me to take him there to do the next gym battle. I suppose I may as well bring him over there tomorrow, since at least it's within the city, and not too long of a walk from home.

12-27-2010 2:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Quinlan's been training & practicing since yesterday, particularly with Abraham, who he forced outside to be his sparring partner. The only reason why the Kadabra complied, is because this city's Gym Leader uses Pokemon specializing in Psychic-based techniques, much like what Abraham, Emerson, and I use on a regular basis. I guess it helps prepare him in a way, but he could've at least let me know beforehand. Oh well, I was too preoccupied sleeping in to notice anyway, so it's fine.

12-27-2010 5:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Quinlan's currently outside practicing some more with Abraham. They were both able to clear out the snow from out front (Quinlan using his Water-type ability, and Abraham using his Psychic powers). At least they won't be battling in the snow this time. They did exactly that yesterday, and needless to say, there was a bit of a mess when they returned inside afterwards. It didn't take that long to clean up, but still...

12-27-2010 8:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Emerson decided to discuss some plans for the team with me, after he found out earlier today that Quinlan intends on taking on the Saffron Central Gym tomorrow. He mentioned something about the location of the next gym facility we should head towards after this one. It's somewhere south of Celadon, but the way to get there requires some form of transit, due to much of the road being on quite the incline. In particular, Emerson suggested either a moped, or a bike...neither of which I possess at the moment. Plus, because neither Abraham nor myself have ever been to that part of the Kanto region, teleporting down there is out of the question.

So...we decided to look around the house to see if maybe the Black Belt guy possibly has something stored away somewhere in closet. As luck would have it...there's an electric sit-down scooter (complete with a helmet, and a charger), which Emerson & I found stored inside one of the other closets in the house (this one was a closet in the bedroom). A bit of cleaning off & re-charging later, I decided to test it out in a small segment of pavement I cleared the snow off of, and...surprisingly, it still works perfectly fine. Looks like we finally have a decent mode of transport to get places, just in case teleporting isn't an option. Let's just hope that the downhill road leading from Celadon to wherever our eventual destination is located gets cleaned of the snow & ice by then.

12-27-2010 11:00 PM (Abraham's perspective)
I know Quinlan wants to continue helping the team out the way he knows best; by winning gym battles & badges for Master Axis, but...something has been bothering me lately. Visions I have been experiencing, usually in the form of dreams. Axis says he has experienced them himself before, particularly the one I have been having lately. I could not make out exact context, but I remember seeing two silhouettes. One which appears to be mine, and a second one resembling Quinlan. Whatever this vision is trying to tell me, it cannot be good. I need to start keeping a closer eye on not just Quinlan, but my fellow teammates too.

Personal Report #48 (December 28, 2010):

12-28-2010 4:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Welp...here we are. Quinlan & I are making our way towards the Saffron Central Gym Battle Facility. I just hope this one goes as smoothly as Emerson's gym battle back at the Celadon Greenhouse did. The last thing I need is another incident similar to the S.S. Anne incident back in Port Vermilion.

12-28-2010 5:00 PM (Quinlan's perspective)
Oh yeah, I'm ready for this battle. Bring on the spoon-bending nerds. Bet they ain't got no muscle on 'em neither, much like Abraham, Emerson, or boss even. This should be easy.

-----

Quinlan steps out onto the battlefield inside the Saffron Central Gym Battle Facility, clad in nothing but his swimming shorts.

The humanoid Gyarados anthro assumes a battle stance, ready for the first Pokemon of the opposition to be summoned.

The first Pokemon sent out to fight Quinlan is an odd pink Pokemon, appearing to look like some sort of hippo-lizard hybrid.

Upon being given the signal by the referee to fight, Quinlan wastes no time, and makes the first move.

Quinlan rushes towards the Slowpoke, who is too docile to react, and thus gets punted into the air by a strong kick from the Gyarados' powerful legs & feet.

The Slowpoke lands on the ground with a hard thud, and is immediately knocked out on impact.

Quinlan smirks & snickers, interpreting the first Pokemon as a mere warm up, before the second Pokemon is sent out.

This second Pokemon was this purple moth-like Pokemon, with rather large wings.

The Venomoth flutters into midair, then swoops down on Quinlan, who leaps & rolls out of the way.

Having successfully dodged the flighty-swooping attack, Quinlan keeps his eyes fixed on the flying bug.

The Venomoth attempts to swoop down on Quinlan once again, only for the serpent to anticipate this now predictable maneuver.

Quinlan shoots water out of his mouth onto the ground, to propel himself into midair, leaping above the Venomoth just as it flies low.

In a short moment, Quinlan swings his fists down like a hammer, bashing the Venomoth onto the ground, as they both land.

Quinlan grabs the moth by the horns, and begins striking it repeatedly, before breaking one of the horns off.

The Venomoth screeches in agony, before slumping over from the overwhelming pain.

Quinlan tosses the discarded horn aside, as the third Pokemon is sent out to fight, the gym leader now getting angered at his fighting style.

A weird, clown-like Pokemon is summoned before Quinlan, who simply snickers out of sheer amusement, over the ridiculous appearance of his supposed opponent.

However, the Mr. Mime takes this opportunity to exploit Quinlan having let his guard down, and fires a rainbow-colored beam at the unsuspecting Gyarados.

Quinlan flails his arms as he's hit, but brushes the attack off as if were nothing, and simply hisses at his foe.

He rushes towards Mr. Mime, before being stopped right in his tracks by a sudden glass barrier that materializes out of seemingly nowhere.

Quinlan falls onto his back, and gets annoyed by this current opponent's silly gimmicks.

Hissing once again out of annoyance, Quinlan runs up to the barrier head-on, and smashes it full-force, somehow causing it to shatter.

The Mr. Mime, having failed to predict the extent of Quinlan's strength, is knocked backwards, as some of the glass shards from the shattered barrier fly everywhere.

One of the shards flies at Mr. Mime, and slices the side of it's neck, causing it to begin bleeding out, and gradually choke on it's own blood.

The now livid gym leader abruptly sends out her final Pokemon to dispatch Quinlan.

A peculiar female humanoid Pokemon materializes from the last Poke Ball, and sees Quinlan, who has sustained a cut on his hand from the shattered barrier.

The Jynx turns towards her now fallen Mr. Mime teammate on the ground, then looks back at Quinlan, now sensing her trainer's anger towards the violent Gyarados.

Quinlan rushes towards Jynx, and attempts to strike her like he did with his previous opponents, only to be outsped by the faster Psychic type.

Having anticipated Quinlan's move, Jynx dodges out of the way, then swings a glowing fist towards the back of his head.

An explosion of ice results, as Quinlan's head is suddenly frozen in ice, the Gyarados falling over with a thud.

The amphibian flails his arms & squeaks in panic, as the Jynx points a hand at the incapacitated Gyarados, and begins levitating him into the air.

Quinlan thrashes & kicks his legs violently as he's lifted by seemingly nothing, before realizing he can shoot water out of other places besides just his maw.

Quinlan closes his eyes in an attempt to focus, then he points the soles of his feet towards the Jynx down below.

The Gyarados successfully shoots a jet of water out of his feet at the Jynx, breaking her telekinetic hold on him.

Quinlan leaps down, and uses his newfound aquatic jet technique to break his fall.

Jynx, now soaking wet from the Hydro Pump, attempts to untangle her mess of blonde hair now covering her face, before Quinlan runs up, and bashes his ice-covered head against her.

Quinlan breaks free of his icy encasing, and finishes off the stunned Jynx, by grabbing her by the hair, and begins swinging her round & round, as he spins in place.

Several rotations later, and the Jynx is sent flying towards a window, where she crashes.

The Jynx's body lays on the window sill & frame, whilst mangled in shards of glass.

Quinlan lets out an ear-rattling roar in victory, causing more windows inside the gym to shatter outwards.

The Gyarados' roar is heard throughout the city, as passersby look towards the general direction of the gym.

Quinlan stands in the middle of the battlefield, all steamed-up & livid, failing to notice blood dripping down his hand from his injury (albeit minor).

A concerned Axis, knowing the battle has been won & is now over, runs over to his Gyarados' aid, and does his best to calm the raging dragon down.

Abraham, having listened to & watched the entire fight go down from inside his Poke Ball, summons himself & appears.

The Kadabra looks around to survey the damage done just now by his Gyarados teammate.

Abraham can sense the anger inside of Quinlan, but realizes why he feels this way.

It appears that Quinlan had somehow been aware of the history of the region's gyms, and how Pokemon owned by numerous trainers who have challenged the gyms more recently have been dying in-battle, whether from Nuzlocke Disorder, violent injuries sustained during a battle gone horribly wrong, or in some cases both.

Looks like this was not something unique or exclusive to Sgt. Surge back in Port Vermilion.

-----

12-28-2010 10:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
How did Quinlan know? He knew...but how? I never explicitly told him the extent to which Pokemon of trainers challenging these gyms have been dying in the line of duty. I still don't support the general idea of these Pokemon being put in harms way like this, especially in the middle of a pandemic. But..this is just crazy. This is just straight-up Hammurabi. This ain't it...it really ain't.

If I would've known beforehand that Quinlan intended to take my protesting of the current Pokemon Gym Battle System into his own hands, I would've stopped him from taking part. He can't just be doing affirmative action in such a destructive manner like this. I know he's upset...I can sense he's not having any of it after how Sgt. Surge nearly got our team killed. But...this isn't right. This is WRONG. Two wrongs just don't make a right. They flat out just don't.

12-28-2010 11:00 PM (Nikolai's perspective)
Whoa, that was quite the fight back there. I knew Quinlan was strong, but not this strong. The man's insane. I know he's probably still bitter from when that Surge guy tried to kill me & the team, but seriously? There's gotta be a better way to go about all this. I hope Axis finds it, whatever it is. Because sooner or later, the gym leaders aren't gonna be the only ones losing Pokemon. And, I know Axis isn't gonna want anything bad to happen to us. Hell, he panicked over Quinlan cut up his hand.

Like...did that guy even notice he was bleeding? I know he felt that, there's no way he didn't. But also...I'm just glad that wasn't me up there doing the fighting. That last Pokemon was freaky looking, and really powerful too. I got worried for Quinlan for a moment back there. Well, I still am. Not because of Quinlan getting hurt, but because of just how much more hurt he inflicted, compared to what he received.

You know...after that battle yesterday...I don't know how much more of this I can do...

I've grown to care for these boys, and...seeing the kind of destruction they're capable of causing & the kind of destruction they're at risk of being involved in...

The S.S. Anne incident should've been a wake-up call...I should've stopped after that.

I contemplated it too...but...something in me stopped me from going back to Southern Pallet, and handing everyone/everything over to Dr. Oak.

I know good & well it was Abraham who ultimately convinced me to rethink my decision about leaving this region, and ultimately abandoning this whole journey.

But...I dunno...I feel like I'm still needed here, and that suddenly leaving when I almost did would've been a big mistake.

I know I'm needed here...I know something that can potentially help save millions of lives of Pokemon & non-Pokemon alike.

Everything I've learned, studied, and done during my time here...I can't let it all go to waste now.

If not the rest of Poke-society...my team.

They need me too.

Abraham...Scorch...Nikolai...Quinlan...Mitch...Emerson...

These guys need me.

MY TEAM needs me.

They're not just a team to me anymore...they're my friends.

They need me...as much as I need them...

Personal Report #50 (December 30, 2010):

12-30-2010 12:00 NN (Axis' perspective)
With the year coming to a close, I look back at everything that has transpired over the course of the past two months. When I first decided to take on this endeavor, I had zero idea what I was about to get myself into. Sure, my psychic instincts told me this was where I was needed. But even I would've never expected anything like this. In my time here, I have learned & experienced so much already. One thing's for sure, I have a feeling this journey is far from over.

-----

Axis: "Alright, boys! Gather around, team!"

The team convenes in the living room, which has become their routine location for gathering around, in case of pep talks, or important announcements everyone should be clued in on.

Axis: "So...with the new year around the corner, I thought we gather around today, and...talk about possible New Year's resolutions with each other. Emerson, you first."

Emerson: "Thank you, good sir."

Emerson adjusts his collar, and clears his throat, before he begins speaking.

Emerson: "I, for one, have never really expected to see myself suddenly in a completely brand new body, a brand new life, and a brand new routine."

Axis: "M-hm. So, what's your New Year's Resolution, Emerson?"

Emerson: "My New Year's Resolution, is to help you chaps with your battling, and studies, to the best of my ability."

Axis: "Alrighty. Quinlan, yours?"

Quinlan: "Me? Hmm...OK. My New Year's Resolution...I've been on a good streak with gym battles even if I kinda overdo it, and I wanna keep it going, no matter what the risks."

Axis: "...good enough. Next...Nikolai."

Nikolai: "Nido? Umm...I...never really thought about something like this. I guess my New Year's Resolution is to get better at battling, while continuing to bond with you guys."

Axis: "Thanks for that. How about you, Mitch?"

Mitch has been pensive this whole time, and only just notices being called upon.

Mitch: "Yes, master?"

Axis: "Come on, we've been over this. Just call me, 'Axis.' It's OK."

Axis gives Mitch a smirk of reassurance, before the Hitmonchan finally speaks.

Mitch: "You know...I never really felt comfortable or happy living back in the dojo. And...I never really got to experience life outside the dojo, so you know what? I'm thankful & happy to be on this team. And...I've always wanted to do something big for myself. My New Year's Resolution is for us to make it all the way to the Elite Four in the Indigo Plateau, and to take on the Pokemon League."

Axis: "Awesomesauce. How about you, Abe?"

Abraham: "Hmm..."

The Kadabra briefly closes his eyes, whilst in deep thought about his resolution. He opens them, having found his answer.

Abraham: "I've noticed...I've never seen a Kadabra with Nuzlocke Disorder survive for long, especially in battle. I feel like I've been extremely lucky to have survived thus far. I am thankful to be alive, and especially grateful to have a loving, caring, wise trainer like you, Axis. I hope we can go far with our continued efforts on research towards Nuzlocke Disorder, and everything that has ensued since it's initial outbreak. My New Year's Resolution...is to become the first of my species to survive Nuzlocke Disorder, and somehow save my species' population from it's current endangered status."

Axis: "Very well. OK..."

The hooded leader sighs...thinking long & hard about his own resolution, whilst sitting before his Pokemon team, who has grown on him.

Axis: "I never really expected to become someone like this, boys...I've been grateful to have y'all here in my company. I'm happy & relieved that I have been able to keep each & every single one of you alive & well, throughout this pandemic so far. Everything's been a mess this whole time, especially with two of our previous gym battles. My New Year's Resolution...is to one day bring an end to this borderline-dystopian crisis, save as much of society as I can from all that has happened. But most importantly...my New Year's Resolution is to do everything I can to keep all of you guys safe, and prevent death, Nuzlocke Disorder, or anything else from taking any of you away from me & this living world. By all means necessary...I shall protect all of you, however I can. Even though we have not known each other for too long...I love you all, and I do not know what I would do if any of you were to die before your time..."

The team is moved & touched by their trainer's caring, affectionate, and protective love for them. Their psychic leader, who has sworn to guard the Pokemon team with his life, embraces them all.

-----

Something's been on my mind lately...I've been having more visions. Not just the ones with Quinlan & myself...but more of them. I can sense something is about to happen. I do not know when it will happen. But, it feels like it might be about to happen soon. Everyone's been in such a great mood for the past week, and I don't wanna be a party pooper by ruining the mood, during the New Year's Eve festivities tomorrow. I have to be on the lookout though...and I hope it's not what I fear it is...

Personal Report #51 (January 1, 2011):

12-31-2010 7:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
So...with tonight's New Year's Eve festivities apparently on pace to be observed worldwide, I figured they'd be celebrated here too. There's gonna be a ball drop countdown ceremony at the heart of Saffron Central tonight. I just hope it ain't the clusterfuck it tends to be back home in NYC...at least all the snow melted away quickly, after it got unusually warm for the past couple of days.

12-31-2010 9:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
I'm honestly surprised restaurants & whatnot around here aren't closing early for tonight. So...we decided to just walk across the street from the house to the diner we've pretty much become regular customers at. The team decided to dine in this time, even though we normally just order food to-go, walk back home, then eat it there.

As per usual, I'm ordering a pizza; gotta have it with extra tomato sauce too.

Nikolai decided to order some sliders for himself; I'm not really one for burgers, but...

Unsurprisingly, Quinlan has ordered the chicken tenders platter; note to self, do not try to take some of his fries, unless you wanna risk potentially losing a finger.

Abraham, being his usual brand of health-conscious, has chosen to stick with ordering a rather modest-looking salad.

Emerson, not wanting to eat much either, is getting a simple creamy tomato soup; hope it doesn't stain his clothes.

Mitch, I could tell was feeling too coy to order anything (I bet money he was rarely allowed to eat back at the dojo, much less whatever he wanted).

I eventually got him to order some grilled cheese sandwiches, although I'm not sure he'll be able (or willing) to finish 'em.

12-31-2010 10:30 PM (Nikolai's perspective)
Dinner at the West Saffron Diner is done, time to join in with the rest of the townsfolk for the ongoing festivities. Also...Abraham said he needed to run back home to get something? Ehh, whatever. I'm sure he'll catch up with us later, before the countdown starts.

-----

Abraham has been spending the past hour scrambling to stuff his backpack with different essential items.

One could sense the panic in the Kadabra's eyes.

He knew...something was about to happen.

Something was coming.

Abraham throws his backpack on, leaves the house (whilst closing/locking the door telekinetically) and bolts it for the city centre where everyone else was currently at.

Meanwhile, at the ceremony, the countdown starts.

While everyone counts down, Abraham eventually reaches the team, and physically gets each team member's attention.

Axis quickly notices the Kadabra's sudden late appearance, but also senses his panic.

Abraham does his best to speak, despite how out of breath he is.

Axis: "Abraham, what is it? What's wrong?"

Crowd: "TEN! NINE! EIGHT!"

Abraham: "We need to go. NOW! WE NEED TO LEAVE!"

Axis: "What? You sure?"

Crowd: "SEVEN! SIX! FIVE!"

Abraham hastily nods, and tries to pull Axis along.

Axis beckons the rest of the team to start for the house, before...

Crowd: "FOUR! THREE! TWO! ONE!"

The moment the new year rings in, fireworks go off, and everyone else begins cheering.

But then...the crowd's excitement suddenly turns into fear & horror, as a loud eerie noise commences.

Axis: "SHIT! GUYS! GRAB HOLD!"

Axis' team huddles around him & grabs hold of his cloak, as a haunting of Missigno GHOSTs begin swarming & raining down on the now terrified crowd.

As the invasion starts, the team is safely teleported back to the front of the house, where the electric scooter is parked.

The team looks back at the scene in the distance, not too far away.

One could see the ghosts beginning to swarm the area, as explosions, attacks, screams, and destruction fill the air.

Axis opens all five team members' Poke Balls, and telekinetically points them at everyone.

Axis: "EVERYBODY IN!"

The entire team is retreated into the safety of their capsules, as the now shaking Axis secures all five Poke Balls onto his Poke Ball belt.

He secures the riding helmet, mounts the electric scooter, and begins driving off.

Axis wasn't entirely sure where he was going, but he knew he needed to get out of there.

He revs up the scooter (which was now suddenly starting to feel more & more like a motorcycle with the sudden speed/boost it was experiencing for some inexplicable reason), and accelerates fast enough to break down the doors to the West Saffron Checkpoint Gate.

As Axis drives past, he yells out to whoever is inside the checkpoint building, to leave & run away.

The scooter blasts out the other side, and makes a bee-line for Celadon, with some of the Missigno GHOSTs now in hot pursuit of the team.

As Axis zooms westward through Celadon, he continues yelling out warnings of caution to whoever he passes by, telling them to get to safety, as more of the GHOSTs join the chase.

After leaving out the other side of Celadon, the scooter nyooms past another checkpoint gate, this time going right past a bunch of bikers in the process.

The bikers are annoyed at first with the sudden interruption to their hangout & partying, before they notice the incoming danger.

They scramble & panic, as they try to get their Pokemon into their Poke Balls, and attempt to get on their vehicles.

Most of the bikers & Pokemon are too late to flee, as the Missigno GHOSTs close in on them, snuffing them out by either engulfing them, possessing them, or suffocating them with their sheer ectoplasmic/gaseous presence.

Axis, refusing to look back, and doing his best to ignore all of the noises, begins speeding downhill on the Cycling Road.

The vehicle gains speed as it goes further down the inclined road, but Axis does not dare attempt to slow down.

Abraham eventually summons himself out of his Poke Ball, once he senses some of the Missigno GHOSTs getting closer & closer to the team.

The Kadabra uses his psychic powers to try to propel the scooter even faster, and to keep both Axis & himself safely glued to the seat.

Axis: "ABRAHAM, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET BACK IN!"

Abraham: "THEY'RE CLOSING IN ON US! KEEP GOING!"

Axis: "ABE! YOU'RE CRAZY!"

Abraham, ignoring his trainer's pleas, tries his best to turn in his seat towards the Missigno GHOSTs behind them.

Abraham aims his wielded Twistedspoon at them, as he closes his eyes.

His blue forehead star begins to glow, along with the similarly-shaped/colored Comet Shard on the other Twistedspoon he is wearing around his neck on a string necklace.

Soon, Abraham's eyes open, now glowing brightly as well.

Eventually, Abraham's entire body glows the same blue color, and he waves his spoon in an odd, metronome-like manner, in the general direction of the pursuing Missigno GHOSTs.

Then...the Twistedspoon begins to shoot out some odd electromagnetic spheres coated in lightning.

The zap cannon blasts home in on the Missigno GHOSTs, and strikes each one, evaporating them instantly.

The electric blasts shoot out in a few short spurts at first, then they begin to fire out at an increasing frequency.

Axis, trying hard to concentrate on driving, leans forward, as the vehicle continues speeding.

Eventually, the last of the GHOST swarm is successfully expunged, as the team nears the end of the cycling road, and the bottom of the incline.

Axis: "ABE! NEW PROBLEMS! I CAN'T SLOW US DOWN!"

Abraham, having come to his senses, stops glowing, turns back forward, and sees the bottom of the incline approaching fast, followed by a curve.

The scooter is successfully slowed down telekinetically, and Axis is able to bank into the leveling off & the curve at a safer, slower speed.

Axis: "ARE THEY GONE?!"

Abraham: "YES!"

Axis: "HOW THE HELL DID YOU DO ALL OF THAT BACK THERE JUST NOW?!"

Abraham: "I DON'T KNOW!"

Unaware of what exactly he just did (or how he did it), Abraham holds onto Axis, as the scooter eventually makes it to the next area.

They zoom past a sign displaying, "WELCOME TO LAKE FUCHSIA."

Soon, they arrive at their destination, and park up at the town's Pokemon Center/Hotel building.

Axis & Abraham dismount the vehicle, and notice slight smoke emitting from the back.

Axis removes his helmet & takes a closer look.

Axis: "Fuck...it looks like we overwhelmed this thing..."

Abraham: "I know...at least...we made it out of there."

Axis: "Yeah...we did..."

Axis soon lets Nikolai, Quinlan, Mitch, and Emerson out of their respective Poke Balls, as they all materialize.

Emerson: "What the bloody hell was that, sir?"

Quinlan: "An invasion...it was them spooky shits all over again."

Nikolai: "Wait, was it really?"

Abraham: "Yep, it totally was."

Mitch: "Is everyone OK?"

Axis: "No...not everyone."

Abraham: "Maybe not everyone...but WE are."

Axis: "M-hm."

Emerson: "Thank bloody fuck we are away from there. Lucky bastards the good lot of us are."

Nikolai: "Without a doubt..."

Axis: "Thank goodness you're all OK...we made it, boys...we're gonna be alright now..."

Axis & the team embrace one another in an emotional group hug, having just barely evaded almost certain death, in a heated chase...

...literally heated at that, according to the scooter's tires.

-----

1-1-2011 1:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
I don't even know where we are...but we're here. We made it. We're alive. Wherever this Lake Fuchsia is that we just barely made it to...we're here now. We owe it all to Abraham, who somehow foresaw this invasion ahead of time, and managed to warn us in the nick of time. Plus...Abraham...I dunno what he did back there that successfully dispatched the Missigno GHOSTs that chased us on the way here. But...he did it. None of us know what it was exactly. All we can deduce is that it may have been similar to what happened the night Abraham & Quinlan evolved, back in Cerulean.

Dangerous pursuit in the thick of night, Missigno GHOSTs chasing us, Abraham glowing all over, and unleashing an inexplicable power even he is unaware of doing while he just does it. At least we're safe now, and there's more than enough room at this particular hotel for us to check into for the night. We'll deal with whatever else in the morning...right now, I'm dead tired (probably a bad choice of words), and I'm sure so is everyone one else on the team. I just hope at least someone we warned on the way down made it out of there alive...

Personal Report #52 (January 2, 2011):

[NO ENTRY DETECTED]

[SHUTTING DOWN...]

...

...

...

...

...

Meanwhile...back inside Dr. Birch's Pokemon Laboratory in Southern Hoenn, the professor is currently sitting at a table in a designated dining area in the lab.

The Speed Boost Torchic from before is resting on top of the table.

The two are currently watching something on a nearby TV.

Then suddenly...a Koffing breaks through a window, and lands on the floor in the middle of the lab (almost like a smoke grenade), and begins filling the room with a blinding fog.

A group of masked, full-suited intruders begin to storm the place, as the Pokemon inside start to panic.

Dr. Birch soon takes quick action, grabbing a nearby Poke Ball, quickly storing the Speed Boost Torchic inside it, then hiding it in his lab coat pocket.

A Grovyle summons itself from another Poke Ball, and comes to the professor's aid.

The intruders search for Dr. Birch, who tries to escape the smokescreen-filled lab, with the help of the Grovyle.

The Koffing starts to spew increasingly harmful gases into the thickening cloud.

The intruders, who are wearing respirators, remain protected & unfazed by the now unbreathable air.

Soon, one of them finds Dr. Birch crawling on the floor, and alerts the others.

The professor is grabbed by the intruders, who begin to strangle him to death.

The Grovyle attempts to fight back to save the professor, successfully slicing an arm off of one of the masked intruders, who yells out in pain, as they bleed out on the floor.

Meanwhile, one of the intruders guards the entrance to the lab.

May, who has picked up on the commotion from nearby, attempts to intervene, only to get mauled to death by a Mightyena owned by the intruder blocking the door to the lab.

May's Wingull exits it's Poke Ball on it's own, and tries to flee, only to be slain by the Mightyena too.

The Grovyle decapitates a second intruder, before being snuffed out himself, by a Seviper sent out by one of the remaining perpetrators, who sinks it's fangs into the lizard's neck.

Upon being let go of, the helpless Grovyle struggles to death on the floor, as he begins foaming at the mouth, reacting violently to the very poison he was fatally weak against.

A minute of seizuring & foaming later, the Grovyle goes limp & dies, right before the terrified professor, who gradually grows weak from being strangled by his captors.

Dr. Birch attempts to reach out for the forelorn & fallen Grovyle, before his arms falls over, and he goes limp himself.

The intruders confirm that the professor has died, and then sets his body down next to Grovyle's.

The remaining Pokemon in the lab eventually succumb to either suffocation or poisoning from the dangerous gases & smoke in the air.

The surviving intruders attempt to salvage whatever valuables & Poke Balls potentially containing any surviving Pokemon they can find.

Eventually, one of of them searches Dr. Birch's pockets, and finds the Poke Ball housing the Speed Boost Torchic, the very Pokemon the group came for.

The Torchic, having been the sole survivor of this slaughter, is taken away from the lab in the Poke Ball by it's invaders.

The sketchy posse (or whatever of it survived the ordeal) quickly savor their success in stealing the supposedly valuable Pokemon, and disappear before the police can arrive on the crime scene.
