Personal Report #18 (November 28, 2010):

11-27-2010 11:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
After getting acquainted with one another, we all decided to head to the breakfast buffet here in the hotel in Cerulean City (albeit later than usual). Having a team of an absurdly humanoid/anthropomorphic Kadabra & Gyarados, plus a seemingly ordinary Charmeleon & Nidorino, all four capable of speaking in a humanoid manner, all led by a hooded guy with a cloaked face...probably not the most subtle combination to have walking in on a breakfast buffet with maybe an hour at best remaining for the morning.

Once we got there, needless to say the morning was quite interesting. Quinlan was amazed at how quickly he got used to performing all the basic movements someone with a humanoid body could perform (walking around, talking, exhibiting human-like emotions, using his hands & stuff), considering he had evolved from just an ordinary Magikarp mere hours ago. What was even more astounding was how suddenly he understood how to not only understand human speech, but be able to communicate via human speech in return. I suppose most Pokemon suddenly having a whole slew of humanoid traits/features bestowed upon them inexplicably would feel this way...although I have to wonder how they would know to react in such a manner, let alone know to acknowledge such a thing. Abraham was also having the same thoughts as Quinlan, though he already pretty much had his "moment of epiphany" earlier.

One could imagine the odd looks our team was getting. Thank goodness there were so few others at the buffet at the same time as we were. As per usual, Scorch was opting for the spicy/savory stuff. Nikolai seemed to have a preference for more natural stuff (anything fruit or vegetable-based). Abraham on the other hand seemed quite reluctant at picking out anything, and barely filled what few plates he actually decided to grab. Then you had Quinlan...wow, that Gyarados could eat. The guy was going for plate after plate of the french toast, the waffles, the eggs, the chicken tenders, you name it. At one point, he even hissed under his breath at another trainer sitting nearby who was looking over in mild disgust. Eventually, we were done with eating, and decided to head back to the hotel room to rest for a bit longer, considering a lot has happened in the past few days.

11-27-2010 4:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
We were simply relaxing in the hotel room. Abraham was meditating to pass the time (whilst floating no less...interesting, it's almost like looking in a mirror), Scorch decided to sleep in his Poke Ball, Nikolai opted for the same in his own. Quinlan laid in bed for few hours before "slithering over" to the pool. As reluctant as I was at first to let an unusual-looking humanoid/serpentine Pokemon into the hotel's pool, I let him go anyways. I figured he's a Water Pokemon, he's gonna get bored if he's away from water for too long. I was simply sitting in a chair, just channel surfing. Nothing really interesting caught my attention.

Advertisements from different department stores (although one of them is supposedly nearby in some city named Celadon), a casino/arcade (OK, this one actually piqued my interest to be honest. I wanna go to this one, plus it's near the Celadon department store), some random cooking shows using a bunch of odd-looking berries/fruit, there was something with a bunch of humanoid-looking Pokemon wearing different outfits or costumes competing in some sort of wrestling tournament (this seemed mildly amusing for the few seconds I went past it; I wonder how Quinlan would do in something like this, since he looked most fit out of everyone on the team to be in it, given how the competitors I briefly saw looked), the list went on...

Then I came across a breaking news report. It was covering how the bridge going towards the cape north of Cerulean was out after last night's storm, making the two routes north of here virtually inaccessible until further notice. Apparently the abandoned shack I retrieved Abraham out of had burned down sometime afterwards that night. From the looks of it, the shack was struck by lightning, which caused it to go up in flames...must've been part of the batch of lightning strikes that triggered the bizarre evolutionary occurrence in both Abraham & Quinlan.

Although, it did make me think...what if I had not rushed out towards the cape in time before the storm started & blocked out the bridge? What if I had not gotten Abraham out of the shack before the storm began & eventually caused the shack to be incinerated? If anything...what if I did not have Quinlan with me when Abraham & I were cornered by all those possessed Pokemon that emerged out of that cavern across the river? So many questions...no telling how things would've played out differently if they could've...

11-28-2010 6:00 AM (Quinlan's perspective)
OK...so there's this place you can fight at to prove your worth, and your leader gets some sort of medal as an achievement. Abraham walked in here yesterday, looked around, got back to the hotel room, and told me everything. This morning, I go to check it out for myself. The battlefield is freaking giant swimming pool! I wanna battle in here ASAP! I gotta tell chief as soon as he wakes up I wanna fight whoever gives out those shiny-looking medals & win one for him. Also, on my way to the gym, I tripped over this stupid pink lizard/hippo-looking Pokemon sleeping in front of a bush planted in a gap in a fence across some sort of bike shop. The heck was it just randomly doing there?!

Personal Report #19 (November 29, 2010):

11-28-2010 9:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
The one time I decide to try to sleep in...something else decides otherwise...or rather, someone.
In this case...Quinlan. The Gyarados just bursts into the hotel room excitedly, and shakes me awake. Feeling hungry & groggy, I can barely make out what he's saying at first. Eventually, I perk up, and get Quinlan to reiterate to me that he eagerly wants to battle in the Cerulean City Gym. This silly serpent woke me up for this?

11-28-2010 11:00 AM (Axis’ perspective)
More breakfast, washing up, getting ready, and...we are now on our way. I suppose we'll check out a day or two after we finish up our business here in Cerulean, by winning the next gym badge...I think that's how that works, right? Between the evolutions, chases, research, and all my Pokemon suddenly all capable of humanoid behavior...I've lost track of what to remember from how this Pokemon battling stuff works. Luckily, I write everything down, so I don't forget (hence these entries). Quinlan leading the way to the next gym was like a child eagerly pulling their parent along with them to the toy store, candy shop, or whatever, I imagine.

11-28-2010 12:00 NN (Abraham's perspective)
Hi, Abraham here. I never did one of theses journal entries before. Master Axis told me it would be a good idea for someone to alternate with him, while he's busy with his duties as a Pokemon trainer. He's busy enough as it stands with his research, so I started helping him out. I was able to get up to speed & get a feel for everything very quickly. I am a psychic myself after all. I am honestly surprised Master Axis himself is a psychic too. I feel much more comfortable in my own skin, knowing my own team's leader is able to act as a proper mentor for me. He saved my life, so I feel I must return the favor, and devote my time to being as helpful as I possibly can to both him, and the rest of this team I am now a part of.

Right now, we are trying to collect these badges a Pokemon trainer is required by the authorities to rack up eight of in order to enter this final challenge called the Elite Four. I hope Master Axis is willing to see this through. I can sense the reluctance in him, although I perfectly understand why. He cares for us very much, despite only having gotten to know us for a short period of time. Sure a perfectly pure soul inside of him. I am honored to look up to someone like him.

At the moment, Master Axis is talking to this female trainer in charge of the battle facility here in Cerulean. I assume they are arranging for a battle match between our team, versus hers. Master Axis insists that myself, Scorch, and Nikolai watch from the sidelines, due to our typing and/or defenses. Or rather, the lack of in my case, unfortunately. Luckily, we seem to have an ace on the team now. Quinlan Oceanside, a rather humanoid-looking aquatic serpent Pokemon descending from an ancestry of much larger, hard-hitting serpentine Pokemon. Quinlan appears to be more than ready to have a go at earning the second badge for our team. I suppose with the way this facility's battlefield is set up, Quinlan will be on even footing with whatever he will be up against, since he's a Water-type Pokemon himself.

<actual situation unfolding below, not in report>

The battle commences, Quinlan up against some sort of star-shaped, mineral-looking, brown extraterrestrial Water Pokemon, supposedly named 'Staryu'.

Staryu's gem-like core begins to blink, as it flies towards Quinlan.

The Gyarados puts his arms up to protect his torso & face, successfully deflecting the starshape's full-body Tackle attack.

Quinlan retaliates with his own physical lunging attack, propelling himself towards Staryu by jetting out aquatic bursts from his feet. He strikes the star with the full force of his muscular body, sending Staryu flying into the wall behind it.

The Staryu is partially lodged into the now-cracked wall, it's own gem-like core also cracked. Staryu has been defeated by the Gyarados.

Misty, amused, but also annoyed at the apparent shoo-in maneuver from the unusual-looking Gyarados, sends out her own ace to fight the Gyarados next.

The newer, larger, faster starshape Pokemon, has a more elaborately-shaped jewel core, a rigid, purple-colored figure, and a starshaped propeller behind it for extra speed. This one is named 'Starmie'.

Before Quinlan can react, the Starmie dives underwater, confounding the amphibian Pokemon, who is currently standing on a small platform floating atop the giant swimming pool battlefield.

As Quinlan anxiously looks around for where the Starmie has gone to, the starshape jumps out from the water in front of him, shooting a sonar-like pulsing blast of water at the bewildered dragon fish.

The Gyarados flails his arms wildly as he's knocked back from point-blank range, falling into the water behind him.

But with this, he suddenly remembers being underwater is also an advantage for him, as much as it is for this nimble Starmie.

Both Pokemon are now duking it out underwater, Starmie striking first once again, this time with a series of beam-like stars swiftly striking Quinlan.

The Gyarados, now enraged, hisses at the Starmie and swims towards the psychic-starshape Pokemon, grabbing onto it with his arms & legs. Quinlan starts biting down on & punching the starshape now in his clutches.

The Starmie then spins in place rapidly, sending Quinlan flying out of the water into midair.

Quinlan flails about once again, but then suddenly gains control of himself in midair (not realizing until now his partial Flying-type essence).

The Gyarados then dives down towards Starmie, who has now emerged from the water itself, flying up towards Quinlan.

Quinlan puts his arms up in front of his face, and strikes Starmie with all his might.

The Starmie falls down, hitting the floor marble floor hard, paralyzing it.

Quinlan lands safely in the water nearby, leaps back out, and then swings his fists at the immobilized Starmie, striking it's core.

The hard gemstone core is shattered, and a dent in the floor is created around the now-defeated Starmie, as Quinlan stands before it.

He roars out victoriously into the air, vibrating the windows, and everyone else's ears.

Misty, shrieking at both the noise, the injuries her Staryu & Starmie have taken, and the damage done to her gym, promptly surrenders.

Axis, amazed at Quinlan's power, but also shellshocked at just how powerful the Gyarados anthro was...is now at a loss for words.

<end actual situation, continue report>

11-28-2010 2:00 PM (Abraham's perspective)
We have two badges now. The Boulder Badge, and the Cascade Badge. I just hope Master Axis is not too upset at Quinlan. I sensed Master Axis' reluctance from the beginning, and also Quinlan's persistence. I knew beforehand from research that Gyarados were powerful to begin with, but never would any of us have imagined that a smaller, human-sized/shaped Gyarados would be just as strong.

Thankfully, it does not seem that there are any repercussions or dissuasion for collateral damage to the battle facility. Considering the power Pokemon are capable of, I would hope this is the case. I can tell a rift formed between Master Axis, and the Gym Leader. I could tell that she was reluctant to hand over the badge, Technical Machine, and prize money for an easy win. Similarly, I could tell he was reluctant to accept the rewards, given how crude Quinlan's fighting style was.

The rest of us were watching in amazement & awe at first. But then, soon it became a bit more of watching in shock, and slight fear. Hopefully, all will be forgiven, and this will blow over pretty soon.

11-28-2010 4:00 PM (Quinlan's perspective)
Heheheheheh, wew that was a lot of fun. I wanna do that again at the next gym we go to. Oh man, it feels so good to be on top, and emerge victorious. Boss told me dragons like myself tend to be on top, and with this power I can feel within me, he's totally right. Plus, surrounded by own watery element made the experience feel a whole lot better.

I'm hungry now, and I'm craving all the food this serpentine metabolism can process in a heartbeat. I hope we can stop by somewhere for food before we leave this city.

11-28-2010 5:30 PM (Scorch's perspective)
Quinlan's power is a lot more than mine. I never thought reptilian Pokemon could be so tough & powerful. I hope I can evolve into a flying dragon like him someday. I want power like that too.

11-28-2010 8:00 PM (Nikolai's perspective)
Nidooo...I thought I was the most powerful on the team. Now I've been outclassed by Quinlan. I'm proud of him though, thrashing his way to victory like that. That was a thrill to have witnessed.

11-29-2010 12:15 AM (Axis' perspective)
After the gym battle, we went straight back to the Pokemon Center for recovery & stuff. Quinlan claimed he was perfectly fine, but apparently his power & adrenaline rush mid-battle prevented him from experiencing any pain, or soreness post-battle. In other words, he needed to heal, but he didn't feel like he needed it. I sure hope he doesn't overdo it...like other trainers' Pokemon have...only to collapse, and never wake up again. I'm happy for Quinlan, I really am...but I don't want his reckless, destructive, devil-may-care fighting style get the better of him one day...

Anyways...after resting at the hotel room, we're having dinner now here at some pizzeria that was still open late. Scorch, Nikolai, and Abraham are sharing one pie. I'm having my own personal pie. But Quinlan...that Gyarados has already gone through one large pie like it was nothing, and is still eating this second pie.

Man, raising these boys is going to be expensive...and difficult. I think I'm more than ready for it though.

Personal Report #20 (November 30, 2010):

11-30-2010 6:45 AM (Axis' perspective)

I didn't really make an entry for the rest of yesterday, so I'll at least try to make up for it by getting you up to speed with this entry instead.

Yesterday morning, I simply decided to check out of the hotel in Cerulean, and have everyone pack up. By midday, we were on our way down south to wherever our journey decided to take us next.

We passed by what appeared to be a Pokemon Care Place, but it was closed for the day, so we just continued onward.

I didn't really feel like having the boys subjected to any encounters/battles, be it against wild Pokemon, or against other trainers' Pokemon.

I felt like having the team keep a rather low profile for a bit anyways.

I figured after the battle back at Cerulean Gym, suspicions would be raised over multiple things, Quinlan at the top of the list.

About midnight last night, we eventually made it to the next town/city limit, wherever this is.

Quinlan told me he could sense the ocean nearby (despite how dark out it was), so I imagine we are at some sort of seaside city, or a port city of sorts.

I couldn't get much sleep after we settled into the hotel room at this city's Pokemon Center, so I decided to simply step out for some air this morning.

This is in fact a city by the sea. Vermilion it's called apparently.

There were a few things I walked past on my way to the port.

Some sort of high-class looking club...another bike shop...another supermarket thankfully...but...I don't see a Pokemon Gym around here though...

I could see boats & ships at the port, at the southern end of the city.

In particular, there seems to be a rather big one that stood out to me; a cruise ship, supposedly named the "S.S. Anne."

I'm just here watching the sunrise gradually unfold here.

Seeing some islands??? or other places in the distance on the other side of the water gives off the impression that this appears to be some sort of large bay that eventually spills out into open ocean.

I have to wonder if the other side is just more of Kanto...or if it's a different region altogether...hmm...

With the first pair of chapters for Nuzlockology: FireRed now fully finished & released, I figured I'd take a moment to thank everyone who has kept up with the series so far. There is still a lot more to write, which luckily I have all planned out. And, with the backlog of what I've written/released previously elsewhere now resolved & all caught up on here, I can now focus on writing the upcoming entries with a fresh feel.

For now, here is the first of many debuting concepts of artwork I plan on gradually releasing on here (with plans to release one art piece at the end of each chapter of a character from the Nuzlockology series as they make their debut in later entries):

Personal Report #21 (December 1, 2010):

12-1-2010 1:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Abraham & I have been hard at work with doing further research on Nuzlocke Disorder, and whatever anomalies, oddities, occurrences, and events that may or may not be tied in to this outbreak. Abraham's own curiosity sure has been piqued, and despite having been part of the team for only a few days so far, he's caught on extremely quickly. Guy's like a prodigy, an apprentice if you will. I guess that makes me his mentor, in all this psychic, floaty, nerdy, academic, and researching business. Having a fellow psychic around must be quite the life not just for him, but for me as well; a literally like-minded entity to share common ground with.

I'm currently taking a brief break from research work to write this entry up. I asked Abraham if he wanted to stop for a moment (even just for lunch), but the Kadabra insisted that doing research, 'for the greater good of fellow Pokemon-kind,' was more important. I have to hand it to him, he's really disciplined for someone I feel is a bit too 'young' to already be acting this way, but I still feel unsure if he should be allowed to work himself this hard.

Anyways...we've both been trying to make heads or tails of why both Abraham himself, and even Quinlan are so unusually humanoid (or 'anthropomorphic' as it's supposedly called in the trade) for their forms, even for Abraham. Much of the research has pointed towards Nuzlocke Disorder itself. To start, there are different sorts of 'Egg Groups' or 'Breeding Groups' for the hundreds Pokemon that appear to exist in the world here (much more than I could possibly imagine actually). Some Pokemon are more animalistic, or feral. Some tend to be this sort of mammalian-esque form. Some are even aquatic, amphibian, or reptilian. Then you have these odd non-animal/non-mammal variant of Pokemon. Finally, you have the humanoid Pokemon; bipeds complete with exactly two arms, two legs, a torso, and a head. Even outside of this human-like Pokemon genus, there are some still partially humanoid within the mammalian field for instance.

Based on all of this research, in addition to my team's own firsthand experiences, I did a bit of extrapolating. So...it seems that Pokemon contracting Nuzlocke Disorder seem to be affected by it, showing it through not just the obvious 'mortem-syncope' part, but by way than that. Maybe...Nuzlocke Disorder is some sort of...mutation...or rather, an un-mutation. From what I have researched, it seems that there are segments of Pokemon DNA sequences that either partially match DNA sequences in humans/humanoid entities, or appear to match such sequences if 'hypothetically' swapped around. What if...maybe, just maybe...Nuzlocke Disorder is just that? A puzzle game where the affected Pokemon's DNA sequence is being switched around, and mutated back into what seems to be a consistent with a distant human ancestor that first experienced the initial mutation into the first Pokemon for that bloodline?

It seems that these mutations tend to be on a spectrum of sorts of increasing intensity. Minor symptoms consisting of comprehension of human speech being expanded into not just understanding it on a receiving, level, but also being able to learn to reciprocate human speech & communicate as such; more moderate symptoms involving thinking, behaving, and acting less & less animal/feral-like, and more & more human-like; and the more extreme cases involving the most bizarre part, the effects of the reverted & partially un-mutated DNA being fully unleashed when a Pokemon's sudden evolution is triggered...almost as if Nuzlocke Disorder has been creating this completely new & unheard of evolutionary branch, almost like a bipedal/upright evolutionary branch where the Pokemon in question are evolving into a sort of humanoid form for their species.

In one of our own cases, Abraham's bloodline seems to have already had a solid enough foundation or prerequisite of partially humanoid genetic makeup to allow this evolution into a more complete humanoid form as a Pokemon. So chances are, the extent of mutation may not be too extreme in Abraham. On the other hand, you have the less intense cases within Scorch & Nikolai, where one is behaving, talking, walking around in a humanoid manner, another simply just talking & behaving as such.

Then you have Quinlan...the most extreme case by far. His mutation is most likely a total departure from what his evolutionary pattern normally does. It is nonetheless still a great magnitude (considering what a Magikarp normally does is evolve from a tiny fish that one could carry in their arms into a 30-foot tall feral serpentine being), just extreme in a different sense. Our Gyarados here seems to have the full extent of mutations resulting from Nuzlocke Disorder (if it is all indeed resulting from Nuzlocke Disorder); a generally humanoid physique; a conscience, mental capacity, bodily coordination, behavior, and mannerisms consistent with that of a human, and total command of human speech both ways. And beyond all of that, a somehow already pre-existing battle-ready instinct & combat experience out of nowhere,

Really fascinating stuff to be perfectly honest, but even if Nuzlocke Disorder is responsible for all of this, both the bad & the good...that doesn't answer the remaining questions still looming over Abraham & I. Where is this Nuzlocke Disorder coming from? Was it just the nuclear fallout? Does it have another source, and the nuclear radiation part is just a scapegoat? Or maybe both the nuclear radiation & whatever is the source of Nuzlocke Disorder may be two similar sources of radiation, or even one & the same source? And what is with the Missigno GHOSTs anyway? Do they tie into all this, and if so, how? So much more Abraham & I need to look into...

Personal Report #22 (December 2, 2010):

12-2-2010 12:00 NN (Axis' perspective)
Abraham decided to stay behind in the hotel room at the Pokemon Center here in Port Vermilion to continue doing research. Scorch & Nikolai are currently resting in the room, with Abraham nearby. Quinlan & I are now taking a walk around the city, just to see what everything's like around here.
We stopped by at the supermarket to stock up on supplies & food, and let me tell you. I could not count on hand how many times during our visit to the mart that I had to [telekinetically] drag Quinlan away from the seafood section. This Gyarados was repeatedly 'slithering over' (he's anthropomorphic, so not literally slithering) to the fish area, staring at every tank he could, and even hissing at the barrels of crabs. This guy is one silly serpent, despite being the strongest Pokemon on the team (I think).

Eventually, we made our way through the rest of the city, and...one, this city's bike shop is closed too?! Forget the bike shop, where's the gym? The map keeps saying this city has the next Pokemon Gym, but I do not see it anywhere in sight. I tried to find out if maybe it was underground or something, so we started for this cave at the eastern end of the city. Quinlan kept looking out towards the ocean though, almost as if he wanted to jump into it for a swim or something. Must be a Water-type instinct, I imagine...

When we got to the entrance to the cave, Quinlan suddenly leaped in front of me, and began to hiss loudly, his fins standing up & all. I couldn't see anything in plain sight, so I was puzzled at first. Then...I closed my eyes, and decided to use my psychic power to try to sense what was inside the cave. It seems to go down into some sort of naturally-formed tunnel, as if it was dug & excavated by something. Also...a lot of holes/pits? And...I sense a lot of Pokemon down there, and I mean a lot. But...nothing like what the team encountered back in Mount Moon. And...they seem to be bobbing up & down repeatedly, vibrating or something...? And, theyre moving really quickly too...I don't get...I really do not get it...but Quinlan insists that going in there is not only not where the supposed Pokemon Gym for this city is located, it's apparently too dangerous to go in there?

So...we did an about face, and kept looking around the rest of the city. In a clearing in the northeastern part of the city, there seems to be a construction site for what seems to be an office tower, and a co-op apartment building. Wonder how long it'll take to finish...and, I spotted several of those humanoid Pokemon similar to the ones I saw back in the Indigo Plateau owned by that fighter guy. They appear to be helping out some construction workers with building & whatnot. Still can't get over why Quinlan reacted the way he did over that cave though...

Personal Report #23 (December 3, 2010):

12-2-2010 9:45 PM (Axis' perspective)
Returned to the hotel room with Quinlan after failing to find any leads on where this city's gym is even located. Quinlan kept looking at the S.S. Anne on the way back, dunno why though...

12-2-2010 11:00 PM (Quinlan's perspective)
Is this nerd going to realize soon that the next gym is on that ship? Boss is looking in all the wrong places, and that smelly cave with all those dangerous little rat mole vermin things...NOPE! ABSOLUTELY NOT! HISSSSSSSSSSSSSS

12-3-2010 1:30 AM (Abraham's perspective)
Master Axis is having trouble finding the location of the Port Vermilion Gym Facility, so I decided to do my own investigation. I hope he does not mind that I decided to go out in the thick of night, while the rest of the team was sound asleep. I sneaked out of the center by teleporting outside anyway, so at least I was undetected.

This city is without a doubt bigger than the city we were just at previously. Quinlan mentioned something about the docks, and the largest ship anchored to the port. So, I followed up on this possible lead, and found exactly what I was hoping for. Turns out, the ship itself used to sail internationally across several Pokemon regions year-round as some sort of cruise liner.

Ever since the Nuzlocke Disorder pandemic, the ship remained stationary at Port Vermilion. After the city could no longer afford to keep it's standalone Gym Battle Facility running, it was simply demolished in favor of newer real estate plans, hence the construction site Master Axis saw yesterday. Instead, the S.S. Anne itself hosts all gym battling for this city nowadays.

I must let Master Axis & the rest of the team know...but most especially some words of caution. Quinlan must not be the one sent out to battle whatever Pokemon the Gym Leader has. We need to find someone different for this one. Quinlan would be in grave danger if he were to engage the kind of Pokemon required to be fought next. I have to warn the others.

12-3-2010 12:00 NN (Axis' perspective)
Great...I slept in again. Must've forgot to set the alarm on my iPhone this time. Abraham kept yipping to wake me up, which didn't do much. Eventually, Quinlan was the one who woke me up, by letting out an ear-rattling roar that nearly cracked the windows in here. Soon, we set out for the S.S. Anne, after Abraham reported his findings to me. Odd...I don't recall Abraham leaving the hotel room at all yesterday...unless maybe he stepped out for a bit after Quinlan & I left, but returned before Quinlan & I did...?

Before long, we made it to the ship, which I honestly expected to have required a ticket or something to board. Apparently, this thing no longer sails, it just stays here at all times these days, which I guess makes sense, considering this is where they decided the gym is located in now. No wonder I couldn't find it before...

This ship really huge, and honestly expensive-looking; place seems to be a luxury cruise of sorts. There's so much to do here! Swimming pool, water park, concert hall, training dojo, restaurants/buffets, some sort of evolution stone club/party (what even...?), and of course the Pokemon Gym itsel--OHHH A CARNIVAL-STYLE ARCADE, MINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINE--

Personal Report #24 (December 4, 2010):

12-3-2010 8:00 PM (Abraham's perspective)
While Master Axis remains preoccupied immersing himself in what the S.S. Anne has to offer, I shall be taking over for reporting our team's observations & findings at the moment. In the meantime, I decided to check out something that I felt might be relevant to our team's upcoming endeavors. There was a formal party being held for a group who swore on elemental stones, which Master Axis acquired at least one of at some point in his journey. I decided to inquire with whoever was in chrage of the gathering.

After a bit of poking around, I was able to successfully consult with the host, Emerson Grovehart; a rather well-dressed human with an explicitly posh personality & appearance, and surprisingly young for someone of this sort of status (roughly his late 20's or early 30's in humanoid years based on initial estimations). The well-dressed leader of the gathering discussed the whole philosophy & history behind his group's coveting of the elemental stones. He gave me the full rundown on how the stones were to be used, where they could be found, and a lot of mystical context behind them. I figured a lot of the Pokemon in the vicinity at the moment had something in common, and Mr. Grovehart's reassurance confirmed this hunch; they all respond to the presence & touch of the elemental stones' essence & power. One of the Pokemon in question even looked similar to one of our very own...Nikolai Nardo.

After a while, I got exactly the answer I was hoping to find. Master Axis needs to use the Moon Stone he acquired at Mount Moon to evolve Nikolai from his current Nidorino form into a fully-developed Pokemon that would be the perfect candidate for the Pokemon Gym Challenge aboard this ship. More specifically, Nikolai will develop a certain elemental typing upon evolution that will keep him safe & at an advantage against the opposition required to be fought to acquire the next badge. I must find Master Axis, and relay this information to him at the first opportunity. I thanked Mr. Grovehart for his time, and was now on my way.

12-3-2010 11:00 PM (Abraham's perspective)
I could sense Master Axis has been very immersed in his rare moment of littlespace & leisure, and most likely preferred to remain uninterrupted. As such, I have made the decision to hold off on getting him back into business for the time being. I may as well at least check up on the rest of the team myself.

Meanwhile, Scorch & Nikolai have been helping themselves to the food at the buffet on-board the ship. I may need to intervene soon before they get themselves into some serious trouble, especially since they are currently unattended with Master Axis busy elsewhere still in the arcade & gaming area. I decided to come up to the surface deck for some fresh air, and then I found Quinlan. Like our team's Charmeleon & Nidorino, this Gyarados was also up to no good. Quinlan found the water park section of the ship, and began causing mischief just as I sensed he would be, albeit playful, harmless mischief. For the entire afternoon & evening, he has been chasing smaller Pokemon down the water slides, jumpscaring little children by hiding inside piles of pool noodles before floating over & popping out, and doing re-enactments of 'Jaws' by swimming with just his dorsal fin sticking out at the surface of the swimming pool. Needless to say, I really need to find Master Axis, and fast. I cannot wrangle the rest of the team on my own, although with my psychic power being similar to Master Axis' & having been mentored by him, I might actually be able to anyways.

12-4-2010 2:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
Wow, that was so much fun, between the arcades, buffets, and shops. I didn't even realize we spent the entire day in there yesterday, and I was so preoccupied, I let the rest of the team get loose. Abraham told me everything that unfolded...oops. But on the bright side, he also let me know how we should approach the next gym challenge. Apparently, the captain of the S.S. Anne (who is also in charge of the Pokemon Gym Facility on-board this ship) just so happens to be a retired US Marine, Sgt. Matis Surge, who prefers to go by just 'Surge' or 'Sarge'. Based on some research, he specializes in a rather difficult-to-find variant of Pokemon whose power manifests itelf in the form of electricity.

It took me not even a fraction of a second to realize why Abraham repeatedly warned me against letting Quinlan take on this next gym himself. The elaborate concept of knowing what kind of Pokemon handle the receiving of different kinds of attacks better or worse than others, or more simply put, 'type matchups,' was something I now remembered I needed to continue studying up, well beyond what I read previously.

Luckily, it appears that we have what we need to be properly prepared for the next challenge. Now it's just a matter of figuring out what exactly I'm supposed to do with the weird lunar crystal I found back there at Mount Moon Square, and how to use it to get Nikolai to evolve again. As it stands, I never got to actually see Nikolai (nor Scorch for that matter) evolving firsthand. And, when Abraham & Quinlan evolved during that pursuit on the way back from Cerulean Cape, even that series of events from that night remain a blur to me. So really, I have no idea what I'm doing here. It's getting late now back here in the Pokemon Center Hotel Room, so I'm just gonna sleep this off, and wake up with a clearer headspace.

12-4-2010 11:00 AM (Abraham's perspective)
Everyone else appears to sleeping in once again, so I sneaked out (via teleportation) back onto the S.S. Anne. Everyone else on the team (including Master Axis himself) swears on the food buffet setups on the ship, so I decided to take a look for myself. I have not eaten much at all during previous mealtimes with the team, and Master Axis insists that I do not undernourish myself, so I am going to respect his wishes by putting forth a more honest effort at sustenance.

12-4-2010 3:30 PM (Abraham's perspective)
It has been a few hours, and as full as I have become since I am not yet used to eating this much, I have been chatting with this other Pokemon here at the dining area for some time. He needed some help getting around on the ship, so I explained to him what I found out about what the ship offers. We exchanged names; this guy goes by 'Mitch Irvington.' He seems to be a Fighting-type Pokemon, a Hitmonchan more frankly. His own trainer is a Black Belt, judging by the fact that this Pokemon's own clothing consisted of a Black Belt outfit too. He told me he wanted to take a breather away from the brutal training his master gives him & his team.

After I told Mitch how down to Earth, caring, and protective Master Axis was towards Scorch, Nikolai, Quinlan, and myself, I could definitely sense the envy in him. I felt really bad, and I did not want to just leave him alone, so I have been keeping him company for the past several hours. I can also sense he is not being fully honest about his life on his own team; I can tell his master is nothing like Master Axis, the abuse is more than obvious to me. If only there was something I could do about all this. I have only just met Mitch today, but I can already sense a newfound friendship has begun to bud between the two of us. I can now see why Master Axis is as empathetic, and caring the way he is, not just about the team, but Pokemon in general. No one should have to go through what Mitch is going through right now on his team. I feel Master Axis might have an answer as to what to do about Mitch's situation, even if this Hitmonchan is not a part of our own team. I must let him know right away about all of this.

Personal Report #25 (December 5, 2010):

12-4-2010 5:00 PM (Abraham's perspective)
I have been giving Mitch a tour of the rest of the S.S. Anne, since I memorized the ship's layout. I now understand why Master Axis wanted to unwind from all of the research, work, and training he has led us through up to now. So I have decided to humor the idea of simply relaxing, and taking my mind off of the serious duties I have been committing myself to up until this point in time.

12-4-2010 7:00 PM (Abraham's perspective)
Mitch & I eventually ended up in the same arcade-gaming area Master Axis spent much of yesterday in. It took little effort for me to figure out what made each game tick, how the science behind each one worked, and even how to undo the rigging measures each one had. Much easier to do when you're a Psychic; makes me wonder whether or not Master Axis immersed himself in this experience deeply for similar reasons.

Game after game, I kept winning with little to no difficulty, which gradually confused & confounded the attendants & any spectating or onlooking customers as time went on. The whole time, Mitch was simply watching in pure fascination & amazement, completely oblivious to what was going on. Before the attention I have been drawing to Mitch & myself could get out of hand, Master Axis found us. I could definitely sense his concern & relief, although given that he & I are both psychics, I'm sure it took no time for him to actually figure out where I was this whole time. He knew it was for the best that we took our leave from the arcade before the management would make that decision for us, but thankfully we at least got to keep all our winnings from in there, some of which I gave away to Mitch for his own to keep.

12-4-2010 10:00 PM (Abraham's perspective)
Speaking of which, I introduced Master Axis & Mitch to one another, and we spent some time discussing Mitch's situation over dinner at the buffet. Unfortunately, even Master Axis is stumped as to what to do about a Pokemon in distress, but under the ownership of a different trainer. I honestly hoped for at least some sort of lead, although I have to wonder if the regional professor, Dr. Samuel Oak might have some possible answers for us.

After dinner, we went our separate ways, Master Axis & I returning to the hotel room in Port Vermilion's Pokemon Center, and Mitch heading back to where his own team & trainer are currently stationed at the moment. We have not visited the city where it is located at yet, so I decided to study the regional map a bit more. According to the Kantonian Regional Atlas, there is one city our team went around on our way down from Cerulean several days ago. If I recall correctly, we took a rather hilly path connecting Cerulean to Vermilion, overlooking a nice big urban city down below. On the map in big letters read, "Central Saffron," the heart of the Kanto region as far as I can tell.

12-5-2010 6:15 AM (Axis' perspective)
I learn more every day I am here, and yesterday I have most certainly learned a lot. What have I learned? One, Nikolai evolves a second time, and conveniently, it involves that crystal I found before. Two, evolving Nikolai is also conveniently what I need in order to be able to take on the next Pokemon Gym Battle with proper preparation. Three, I have been a bad influence on Abraham, as the fellow psychic has now taken up the same bad habit I hoped he wouldn't figure out from me to do so. Four, there is a Pokemon who needs my help in some way, whom without Abraham, I will not have ever found out.

However, this Pokemon is not just one I can simply just catch and/or bring onto my team. He already belongs to someone else, and not a friendly someone else at that. I will have to take this up with Dr. Oak, since he might have a better idea on what to do here. In the meantime, I need to wake up Quinlan, and give him a lecture on what he did last night. Apparently, Quinlan got so hungry for food, he decided that raiding the buffet last night wasn't enough of an offense. That silly serpent went right into the galley, and started eating the food from right within there. Just when I thought Quinlan positioning himself right underneath the spigots to the ice cream machine, pulling the levers, and downing ALL the soft serve was not enough to take the cake (literally)...thankfully, I have more than enough money in case of emergencies (which apparently now include food feud farces). Then again, they simply kicked us out of the buffet, without making us pay. Between that & the arcade incident, I'm sure the entire team & I are eventually about to be kicked out of the S.S. Anne altogether real soon. I need to get the next badge & fast...but how do I even use this Moon Stone thing to evolve Nikolai?

Personal Report #26 (December 6, 2010):

12-5-2010 9:00 AM (Quinlan's perspective)
Grrrrrr...

12-5-2010 10:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
After giving Quinlan the lecture (which he didn't take too well), we made our way back onto the S.S. Anne so we can begin training the team in preparation for facing Sgt. Surge. Our main priority at the moment is to train Nikolai so he can evolve again (again, still no clue what the Moon Stone crystal has to do with it). However, everyone else needs some training too, so that no one is left behind.

Scorch needs more training in general, so he can control his flames better. I still have a lot of psychic mentoring to give Abraham, and Quinlan could use some serious self-control. I noticed that Gyarados has quite the temper, and some sort of runaway metabolism. I imagine because instead of being some sort of 30-foot tall wyvern, he's this odd humanoid-amphbian hybrid, and maybe now all that power is too densely packed in there.

12-5-2010 9:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Hours of training later (in this designated training facility on-board the ship itself), I figured I'd divulge our progress so far:

-Scorch managed to ignite the tail of a random trainer's Pikachu ablaze (thankfully Quinlan was nearby to extinguish it before it could spread). This Charmeleon definitely needs more training, not in terms of power, but with controlling said power.
-Nikolai has been doing well with his training; his spikes can definitely do some damage. He's only a Nidorino now, and he's hitting pretty hard. I have yet to imagine what he will be like once he evolves again.
-Quinlan has been very brutal, and reckless with his power. He left several punching bags, kickpads, and even a mirror damaged in some way (be it chewed up, mauled, dented, torn up, or shattered). As powerful as this Gyarados may be, he needs to learn to hold back some, and he even insisted at one point that he doesn't need the training to begin with. I fear he might be getting cocky, and that he's missing the point of the training session.
-Abraham...his mind has been somewhere else today. The Hitmonchan guy didn't return at all today, which has been leaving Abraham worried, and thus unable to remain focused on the psychic mentoring/training I attempted to give him today. He telekinetically let go of a concrete slab that nearly fell on Quinlan. Luckily, I reacted fast enough and redirected it to land elsewhere. I could tell Quinlan was angered by that, judging by the way he hissed at Abraham (whiskers flailing & all).

12-6-2010 1:00 AM (Abraham's perspective)
Mitch has not turned up at all yesterday. I really hope he's OK. I simply cannot take my mind off of someone who I know in good conscience needs our help.

12-6-2010 8:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
At Abraham's insistence, we slept last night inside the training facility on the S.S. Anne, instead of going back to the hotel room in-land (just in case the Hitmonchan from before turns up). We were joined last night by a different Black Belt trainer with one of those humanoid fighty Pokemon I've been seeing throughout my time here in the Kanto region. Apparently, this one (like the ones back at the construction site) was called Machoke. Never actually seen one in the wilderness, which I imagine for these kind of Pokemon makes sense. They seem to give off a more urban vibe anyway, especially judging on the history & theories I researched on regarding their supposed origins.

12-6-2010 3:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
The Black Belt guy with the Machoke noticed we were trying to train for the gym battle against Sgt. Surge, so he offered us some valuable assistance to aid us in our prep. He offered to do something for my Pokemon called, "Move Tutoring." Apparently, it's a thing that's prevalent throughout the Pokemon regions. Simply put, trainers or specialists teach a move or attack to a Pokemon, as opposed to a Pokemon either learning an attack naturally, or being taught one via one of those CD things the Gym Leader back in Pewter gave us.

The Black Belt guy (with the help of his Machoke) was teaching Nikolai some sort of kicking attack, while the rest of us watched the training unfold from the sidelines. Hopefully Nikolai gets something good out of this experience. I'm thinking this might potentially help him evolve or something, as in like this is literally the kick he needs to trigger his evolution. I need to quickly look up how exactly the Moon Stone plays a role in all this though.

12-6-2010 4:30 PM (Axis' perspective)
While the Machoke guided Nikolai with executing the actual attack for himself, I pulled the Black Belt trainer aside and asked him for something I had a hunch he would have a possible answer to. With Abraham listening nearby, I asked the Black Belt about the Hitmonchan from yesterday, by describing his appearance as eloquently as I could. One explanation later, I think I got the answer we need, and now I know exactly where we are headed next (I was wondering what we would do afterwards).

Apparently, there is a fully-blown fighting dojo for other Black Belts & mostly Fighting-Type Pokemon in a really big city somewhere north of here. I think it was the one we saw at to the side of the hill we went over to get from Cerulean to Port Vermilion. According to the Black Belt guy, the city (named Saffron Central) is strategically positioned at the heart of this region, almost as an urban hub of sorts, and a crossroads connected in all four cardinal directions to other areas throughout Kanto. Looks like we're heading there after we finish up down here, and get the next badge. Let's just hope the Hitmonchan from before is over there. But even then, I have a feeling we are about to open a new can of worms when we eventually arrive there.

Personal Report #27 (December 7, 2010):

12-7-2010 3:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
We were all fast asleep inside the training facility on-board the S.S. Anne, until a flash of light woke us all up. The Moon Stone started emitting it's own light, in response to being exposed to the moonlight shining down on it from a nearby window, as Nikolai clutched the stone in his sleep. Quinlan was the first to notice the light, and hastily shook me awake. Soon, I woke up the others. We kept our distance from Nikolai, just to be safe. The sleeping Nidorino remained asleep, as he continued to clutch the Moon Stone. The glowing stone soon enveloped Nikolai in a bright light, which soon intensified into a blinding intensity. We all turned away and/or covered our eyes, as the light shined throughout the vicinity.

Soon, the light faded away, and Nikolai had awakened. His voice noticeably deeper, his dialogue no longer just mammalian noises & eponymous syllables but now fluent human speech, and his body completely different than in his first two forms. He rose to his feet, whilst curiously swaying around his newly developed tail. We all opened our eyes, and the sight was almost impossible to believe. Nikolai had gone from a quadruped & mostly feral being...to one who was bipedal & quite humanoid (even for his new form), albeit with enough body features (and tail) to allude towards his evolutionary lineage.

<actual situation unfolding below, not in report>

Axis: "Nikolai? You can walk!"

Nikolai: "Huh? I can!" *looks at my hands, arms, legs, and feet & begins swaying around my new tail*

Abraham: *yips* "You can talk!"

Nikolai: "Wait! I can?!"

Scorch: "Nikolai? Is this really you?"

Quinlan: *confused squeaky fish noises*

Axis: *notices the stone laying on the ground next to the newly evolved Nikolai* "So this is what the stone was for...it's a stone that seems to be a key to some sort of evolution..."

Black Belt: "I...I don't understand...I've seen Nidoking before...but not one so...human-like..."

Axis: "I saw...a Nidoking is not supposed to look like this at all, based on what I researched..."

Black Belt: "No...I mean, a Nidoking should be bipedal, yes. But...this Nidoking's body structure is abnormally humanoid...something only more natural in Pokemon that are actually humanoid to begin with. Abra...Machop...Hitmonchan..."

Abraham: *is reminded of Abraham, but has no clue what the other two species are* "So this is it, huh? This is the fruits beared by the effects of Nuzlocke Disorder~"

Axis: "Without a doubt." *walks up to Nikolai* "Nikolai...how do you feel?"

Nikolai: *still examining my new body* "I...I definitely feel different..." *attempts to walk, but it feels a bit awkward at first, as I try to get a feel for walking on just my legs/feet*

Axis: "Here...let me guide you..." *helps Nikolai get used to walking as a biped*

Quinlan: *snickers* "Heheheheh...poor guy can't learn how to walk as quickly as I did."

Abraham: "Quin..."

Nikolai: *soon adapts to walking, and eventually tests my newfound power by kicking a nearby mannequin, my foot glowing as I do so, and the mannequin shatters into many pieces*

Black Belt: "Impressive...Mega Kick...looks like my lessons are done."

Nikolai: "Wa-hey! How about that? I finally learned it." *tail tapping against the ground*

Axis: "So...only certain Pokemon are supposed to be bipedal AND humanoid?"

Black Belt: "Yeah...a Nidoking like you, Nikolai...should be bipedal...but only just bipedal. I've never seen a Nidoking with the body structure of the more actual humanoid Fighting-type Pokemon."

Axis: "I've been seeing them every now and then, especially the ones back at the Indigo Plateau, the ones down at the construction site, and the Hitmonchan we still have not seen return yet. I just assumed it was more common or natural."

Abraham: *is watching all of this in fascination, taking mental notes for further research*

Nikolai: *starts wrapping my arms & tail around myself* "Oof...it's...it's kinda cold..."

Black Belt: "Here, someone left some pants behind in one of the lockers." *tosses the pair to Nikolai*

Axis: "Oh right! I got spare undergarments in my backpack!"

Quinlan: *simply stares awkwardly at Axis over being THAT resourceful*

<end actual situation, continue report>

12-7-2010 12:00 NN (Axis' perspective)
We decided to head back down to the Pokemon Center in Port Vermilion, so I could video-call Dr. Oak to check in with him. He needs a seriously huge update on how things have been going. Too much has transpired since the last time we last spoke. And...we can't hold off any longer on reporting to him.

This video call, compared to the previous one we made when Scorch first evolved, felt starkly different...and felt like the longest hour of my life. Turns out...Nikolai's appearance, Abraham's appearance, and most especially Quinlan's appearance...each just as puzzling as the last, even to Dr. Oak himself. Their ability to talk in a humanoid manner caught Dr. Oak off guard the most. Dr. Oak showed us pictures & videos of different normal Nidoking, and we soon pieced together that Nikolai's form was in fact not normal for a Nidoking.

The resemblance in body structure to naturally humanoid (who are biologically supposed to be anthropomorphic) Pokemon was enough for Dr. Oak to show us some stuff of such kind of Pokemon...Kadabra, Machoke, Hitmonchan, Jynx, Electabuzz...and other names that sailed right over my head, as I was still focused on this growing mystery surrounding how & why this was all happening. All the stuff Abraham & I pieced together about Nuzlocke Disorder was supposed to be mostly extrapolation & conjecture.

Dr. Oak soon told us that he has been getting similar calls from other trainers throughout the region in this increasing surge in not just Nuzlocke Disorder cases, but also this odd anthromorphing phenomena. We are now beginning to conclude that maybe Nuzlocke Disorder truly does play a big part in all of this. Perhaps all the conjecture is exactly the kind of thinking we needed in the end. However, we still haven't figured out the other unexplained phenomena; the Missigno GHOSTs, their origin, behavior, purpose, nature, everything about them really. I think it's safe to assume for now that the Nuzlocke Disorder pandemic may have something to do with 'em too. How? No clue...but whatever it is, it can't be good...

Personal Report #28 (December 8, 2010):

12-8-2010 7:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
After the long video conference with Dr. Oak, we spent the rest of yesterday finishing up with Nikolai's training, and helping him get used to his new body, form, and powers. Last night, we met with Sgt. Surge in the part of the S.S. Anne where he holds his gym battles with challengers who attempt to go for the badge he gives out. I say 'attempt' because apparently a lot of trainers who have tried in the past have more often than not ended up having to hospitalize their Pokemon afterwards, some even succumbing to their injuries/Nuzlocke Disorder. As far as I can sense it, none of these trainers have attempted to use a Ground element Pokemon against Sgt. Surge's Pokemon.

One thing to note is that because Abraham was the only one present with me at the moment when we were given the tour through the Gym Battle Facility on-board the ship, Sgt. Surge was thus put under the impression that Abraham was who I would intend on using when challenging him today. What he is unaware of is that not only do I have no plan on using Abraham for this, the Pokemon I plan on using may very well be one of seemingly few defeats Sgt. Surge has admittedly taken. I could tell the man puts up this really 'chest-puffing' front, sort of like a mind-game to instill fear & intimidation in potential challengers. What he doesn't know is that Abraham & I planned way ahead of time for something like this. Good to know this one really does have zero idea what he has coming for him.

12-8-2010 12:00 NN (Axis' perspective)
Nikolai & I made our way onto the battlefield inside the S.S. Anne's Gym Battle Facility. Abraham, Quinlan, Scorch watched from outside on the deck, through a window. The Black Belt guy & his Machoke were also watching with the rest of the team. Sgt. Surge was wearing his US Navy Outfit for the battle, presumably for show. I noticed he had not one, not two, but three Poke Balls attached to his Poke Ball Holster Strap. Already I knew this was going to be a step up, difficulty-wise, from the previous two gym battles.

Thankfully, my team has also risen to the occasion, improvement-wise. However, it seems pretty clear to me just why the supposed mortality rate at this gym is higher than at the first two gyms; electricity is indeed a dangerous element to control, and even more dangerous when used in this sort of fashion. Let's just hope Nikolai truly does have the supposed advantage & immunity the type matchup theory I studied up states he should have.

<actual situation unfolding below, not in report>

The battle begins, with Nikolai assuming a fighting stance, as Sgt. Surge sends out his first Pokemon, a Pikachu.

The Pikachu acts first, encircling Nikolai several times, before going towards him with a running start, whilst enveloping itself in electricity.

Just as the Pikachu leaps up towards Nikolai, the Nidoking slides to the side to avoid the electrically-charged rodent.

Nikolai rebuttals by grabbing it by the tail mid-jump, swinging it round-and-round, and throwing it high into the air, almost as if out of an Olympic Hammer Throw sport.

The Pikachu crashes into an overhead light, electrocuting/short-circuiting itself on it, and falling back onto the battle floor with a loud thud & crash, clearly out for the count (and then some).

Sgt. Surge, literally in shock, gets annoyed by the dirty maneuver from the Nidoking, and hastily sends out his second Pokemon; 'Raichu' another electrical rodent-based Pokemon looking similar to the Pikachu, but larger, and clearly stronger.

The Raichu takes a quick glance at it's fallen electric rodent brethren & teammate, and is now just as angered as it's trainer.

The Raichu charges up it's electricity, readying an attack.

Meanwhile, from the spectating crew just outside, Abraham's ears twitch wildy, the Kadabra having sensed the incoming attack, and proceeding to yell out to tell everyone watching to duck down onto the floor.

The moment everyone hits the deck from outside, the Raichu lets loose a supercharged electrical wave, expanding out in a circular fashion around it almost like an electrical explosion.

Nikolai reacts fast enough to this, by crouching down in place, and covering his head & torso with his arms, as the electrical attack shatters all of the windows to the gym facility.

Glass shards, and smoke fly outwards onto the deck & the open air, thankfully not hurting anyone thanks to Abraham's quick thinking saving everyone spectating.

The impact of the blast causes the overhead light from before to detach from the ceiling, falling down towards an unsuspecting Raichu down below, who only has enough time to look up at the falling metallic dome, before getting crushed underneath it with a second loud bang.

Sgt. Surge yells out in a rare fit of fear for his Raichu, having just witnessed his lifelong companion finally get it's own taste of death, after having taken the lives of other innocent Pokemon in the past.

The gym leader trembles, before clenching his fist, and now vowing revenge towards Axis & his Nidoking.

Axis, having witnessed all of this, is now too reluctant to let Nikolai fight any further.

But before the cloaked, hooded psychic can react, Sgt. Surge lobs the third Poke Ball onto the field, unleashing an odd, spherical white & red robotic Pokemon.

The shaken Surge commands the robotic orb to 'unleash hell', the electrical Pokemon complying quickly, and rolling towards Nikolai.

Axis, having telekinetically sensed the incoming danger through a brief vision of the electrical orb Pokemon exploding, leaps down onto the battlefield, and telekinetically flies towards Nikolai.

Nikolai embraces his trainer, who looks up, and sees the about-to-explode ball Pokemon approaching them.

The Nidoking reacts by punting the ball with full-force with his Mega Kick attack, launching the ball back towards Sgt. Surge.

Abraham, also having foreseen the explosion, quickly teleports Axis, Nikolai, Quinlan, Scorch, the Black Belt, his Machoke, and himself off of the ship, and away to safety.

Everyone lands safely on the sand at a beach in Port Vermilion, a safe distance away from the S.S. Anne, still within sight.

Soon, where the smoke continues to flow out the ship, the explosion occurs, startling everyone in-land within earshot..

The battle facility catches fire, and begins to collapse in on itself, the explosion having rocked the ship, and scaring everyone on-board, now beginning to evacuate in a panic.

Axis: "IS EVERYONE ALRIGHT?!"

Everyone else who Abraham evacuated answers.

Abraham: "AXIS! We need to go back in there & rescue everyone!"

Axis: "NO! DON'T! ABRAHAM, IT'S TOO DANGEROUS!"

Abraham: "But Axis, we can't jus--"

Quinlan: "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND, YOU CRAZY PSYCHIC FOX?! THAT FUCKER TRIED TO KILL US ALL! YOU WANNA GO BACK?!"

Abraham: "Oww, my ears..." @\.*./@

Nikolai: "What do we do now, Axis? What about the battle?"

Axis: "What ABOUT the battle? Look at the destruction!"

Black Belt: "I think it's safe to way you won that battle, sir..."

Machoke: *nods in agreement*

Scorch: "But Axis...the badge...the TM...?"

Axis: "FUCK OUTTA HERE! I ain't doin' this shit no more! Y'all in this region are crazy! I'm done!" (Welp, there's the inner NYC in Axis having been let out)

The hooded psychic walks off, starting towards the Pokemon Center, to alert the Pokemon League Authorities, and let the staff in there know about the incident.

Abraham, unsure whether to stay with the team witnessing the ship slowly go up in flames, or to run (teleport) over to calm Axis down, looks back & forth, unable to make a decision.

<end actual situation, continue report>

12-8-2010 8:45 PM (Abraham's perspective)
Master Axis has finally calmed down, but not before the earful he gave Dr. Oak earlier over today's disastrous sequence of events that have unfolded today. He was absolutely livid that another Pokemon trainer (a gym leader at that) would battle under such hazardous conditions, and in such a destructive manner. The regional professor reassured us that this was something the Pokemon League Regional Authority had been made aware of previously. Despite Dr. Oak's own sympathy towards us & other trainers whose Pokemon have been experiencing this increasing magnitude of dysfunction lately, he stated he unfortunately has no authoritative power to do anything about it, beyond simply notifying the right people. It seems that the Pokemon League Regional Authority is the one who has the legal power over this sort of thing.

Dr. Oak has reassured us that even if something has happened to Sgt. Surge, the proper arrangements will be made for a copy of the Port Vermilion Gym Badge, along with the respective Technical Machine/prize money that goes with it to be sent to Dr. Oak to hold onto for us. I just hope everyone else has gotten off that cruise liner unharmed...especially Emerson, and Mitch if they were on the ship at the time of the explosion. Even then, this whole thing is much more out of control than even I would have realized.

Master Axis has been dead set against the approval of any of this death, and destruction that has been going on all this time ever since the initial outbreak of Nuzlocke Disorder. As a fellow psychic, I can sense he wanted to try to do something about it, and I can now understand why he feels the way he does. Like Axis, I have to wonder if this region's government might have something to do with everything going on, particularly with the Nuzlocke Disorder pandemic. The reality that this has been happening, while the government has done much of nothing helpful about it, is beginning to feel suspicious to me now. If the government was aware of Sgt. Surge's past history, why have they taken no action? If the Revitalus Immortalis medicine is supposed to help treat Nuzlocke Disorder, why has it suddenly no longer become publicly available for commercial use? I suspect something bigger is at play here, and I fear it may not be pleasant.

Personal Report #29 (December 9, 2010):

12-9-2010 9:00 AM (Abraham's perspective)
Master Axis did not want to bother with logging at all today, so I am continuing to fill in for him with updates. Instead, he has been busy packing everything up, so that we can begin to journey towards our next destination; Saffron Central. At least we have some good news, after this whole fiasco from yesterday. The Black Belt trainer got in touch with someone from the dojo, and has confirmed Mitch has been there the entire time. Hearing that has made me so relieved since.

I hope everyone has safely evacuated the S.S. Anne in time though. The initial explosion resulted in a fire that quickly spread into the cruise liner's engine room. A subsequent explosion made holes in the hull, thus flooding, and sinking the ship entirely. To think all of that just for a gym badge...

12-9-2010 10:00 AM (Quinlan's perspective)
For his first time battling in his new form, Nikolai sure knew how to fight. That jacked up seafaring guy was sick in the head though. I hope he got what he deserved, for trying to kill us, and for everyone he's snuffed out before. There's no way he survived that explosion, or the ship sinking.

12-9-2010 11:00 AM (Nikolai's perspective)
Nidoooooo...I dunno how to feel after yesterday. I know I need to get used to my new body some more, but I feel like battled way too hard back there. The gym trainer did try to harm us though, so I just instinctively reacted out of self-defense. At least the kicking attack the fighty man taught me came in clutch.

12-9-2010 12:00 NN (Abraham's perspective)
After spending what felt like an eternity down there in Port Vermilion, we are now on our way up to Saffron Central. The Black Belt is leading the way for us, so that we do not get lost on our way there. The moment we arrive, I need to head straight for the dojo. It is important that I find Mitch, and get this whole situation with him sorted out.

[BOOTING UP TRANS-FEED]

[COMMENCE TRANSMISSION]

Inside a penthouse room atop a tall tower in Saffron Central, Giovanni Sakai sits on his throne in front of a conference table, his trustee Persian companian resting nearby.

A giant screen integrated into the window Giovanni is facing starts to display an incoming video call...it's coming from the President of Devon Corporation, Joseph Stone.

Stone: "Ahh, Mr. Sakai. To what do I owe the pleasure today, sir?"

Giovanni: "Enough with the formalities, Mr. President. You know why I'm here."

Stone: "Right, the current Poke Ball system you desired an inquiry about."

Giovanni: "It is not an inquiry, it is a complaint. The Pokemon have been getting sick, and dying ever since you rolled out that 'new & improved' mechanism."

Stone: "Now now, Mr. Sakai. We mustn't jump to hasty conclusions here."

Giovanni: "You know good & well it's the Poke Balls doing this to them."

Stone: "Anyway, why do you feel unfaithful about the innovative technology we put out there?"

Giovanni: "You should not be fixing what is not broken, Mr. President."

Stone: "Right, sir. We have simply improved the production & manufacturing process of only the finest Poke Balls across every region under our United Federation."

Giovanni: "Wrong. All you did was create a problem, when none was there in the first place."

Stone: "Come now, Mr. Sakai. I reassure you there is nothing wrong with my company's creations. Under our government's mandate, we have been rising to the occasion ever since the trainer & Pokemon population warranted the need for a more efficient method of making Poke Balls."

Giovanni: "...and that population has declined since you approved the Pokemon League Interregional Authority's little program."

Stone: "I suppose you wish to bring up the Revive Embargo too?"

Giovanni: "YES! That medicine has been tested, tried, and proven to cure the sick Pokemon of whatever has been killing them off in the first place! Why have you been withholding the production & propagation of it this whole time?!"

Stone: "You see...the medicine's effects conflict with the mechanism of our Poke Balls, and--"

Giovanni: "THAT IS A LIE, AND YOU KNOW IT!"

Stone: "Mr. Sakai, there is no need to raise our voices in here."

Giovanni: "You listen here, Old Timer. Whatever's in those Poke Balls you've been putting out ever since the government intervention, has made countless Pokemon sick or worse. Even my Pokemon, Mr. President...MY RHYDON! THIS DAMN PANDEMIC KILLED MY RHYDON! MY SON! MY DEAR SILVER! HE DIED BECAUSE MY RHYDON WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH TO GET HIM TO SAFETY! THIS DISEASE HAS KILLED MY TWO MOST PRECIOUS--"

Stone: "MR. SAKAI!"

Giovanni: "..."

Stone: "Ahem...your Rhydon died because you put it in a dangerous situation. You should know better than to let a Pokemon like that go anywhere near a body of water, much less a rip current in the middle of a dam collapse. Why your son put himself in such a ridiculous predicament back there in Northern Opelucid is beyond me. But I stand by the fact that my creations have done nothing of the sort to hurt neither the Pokemon population, nor the trainers who raise them."

Giovanni: "Then how about your son, Mr. President? What if it were Steven in danger of drowning? What would YOU have done then?"

Stone: "Mr. Sakai! You will not bring up my family in that manner."

Giovanni: "You & I both know good & well your precious Poke Ball program led to your son's death, just as much as it led to the death of mine."

Stone: "How dare you speak to me in such a rude fashion, sir."

Giovanni: "I know you're hiding something, and I know you're in on this whole scheme, Mr. President."

Stone: "There is nothing going on, Mr. Sakai. This conference call is finished."

Giovanni: "Hmph..."

Personal Report #31 (December 11, 2010):

12-10-2010 1:00 AM (Abraham's perspective)
As of several hours ago, the convoy has arrived in Saffron Central. The Black Belt trainer has been especially helpful for the past several days. He owns a small house in the outskirts of the city. However, he is rarely ever home these days. He is either busy training or residing at the dojo in this city, or he travels the region with his Machoke partner.

The Black Belt trainer is letting us take up residence in his home, while he returns to train at the dojo with his Machoke. The only favor he is asking of us in return is to take care of the place. For a pair of psychics like Dr. Vactaire & myself, this should be a non-issue. In the meantime, I hope Emerson survived the S.S. disaster from the other day. I am starting to hear there are some casualties from all of that. There are even some Pokemon or trainers still missing out there, or unaccounted for.

12-10-2010 12:00 NN (Axis' perspective)
The Black Belt guy gave us a tour of Saffron Central yesterday evening, after we settled down & unpacked in his home. He's letting us live in for the time being, while he goes back to the dojo place. Out of all the cities I've been to in this region, this one is by far the biggest, by a lot. We got dinner at this diner across the street from the house.

Just woke up about an hour ago, and no sign of the Black Belt guy, nor his Machoke. Looks like they already left for the dojo, which is apparently somewhere all the Black Belts who train there can also reside/camp in. Everyone else appears to still be asleep though, which considering we stayed up late last night after all the traveling we did to get up here from Port Vermilion, I'm not really surprised. I'll just let 'em sleep in today; they deserve a long rest after the past several days.

12-10-2010 1:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Alrighty, I just got done cleaning & tidying up the house. Thankfully, because I did all of this telekinetically, no noises to wake the team up from. May as well take a walk around the city while I'm at it. I can just resume research tomorrow, since I imagine Abraham, who has been working really hard towards doing his share of the research (as much as I kept trying to tell him to take a break & not overwork himself), is probably far ahead of me.

12-10-2010 5:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
There's another city just west of here, and I heard they have a shopping mall over there AND a casino too. That must've been the city I saw some TV ads before in the past. Can't believe we're actually right by that city now. I don't wanna go ahead without the team though; bad idea to be perfectly honest. Anyways...back to researching.

12-10-2010 9:30 PM (Axis' perspective)
OK...how much more research did Abraham do exactly, when we were down in Port Vermilion? Not even that, how much more did he do last night after we unpacked & settled down? No wonder I needed to recharge the laptop this morning after I woke up. I'm gonna need to take this all in for a bit before I can resume my share of the work.

12-11-2010 2:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
Well, don't that beat all? Abraham's onto something here. When Giovanni & I met for the first time, we chatted for a while on our way out of Mount Moon, before we went our separate ways. One of the things we talked about was the Nuzlocke Disorder Pandemic, and the research I have done up until then. Turns out, I wasn't the only ones hard at work with deciphering this mess. Giovanni has been doing his own research too.

12-11-2010 6:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
One of the things he brought up was something I had not looked into at all, even up to now. I never thought anything of it when he mentioned it at the time, nor did he go into any greater detail (which I can understand why he did, now that I am starting to see Abraham's take on this breakthough). I'm reading all of this now, and a lot more of the other stuff is beginning to make more sense.

It's the Poke Balls. The very system this region (and the other supposed regions out there) relies on for legally acquiring & securing Pokemon, propagating them, and apparently 'storing???' them in some sort of electronic system that works like a digital storage thingy...this system, according to this new bit of research I am reading, may be what has been responsible for the Nuzlocke Disorder Outbreak itself. It seems that the electromagnetic-based radiation used to power the Poke Ball system is somehow the exact same radiation that was used during the nuclear war from before everything started.

12-11-2010 5:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
It all makes perfect sense now. The spontaneous surgence & appearance of these humanoid Pokemon, these humanoid-hybrid Pokemon starting to appear now too, and then Nuzlocke Disorder itself...it all points to the same common denominator; the Poke Ball system. But why? Why is this happening? Whoever is in charge of making & manufacturing Poke Balls...why are they doing this? Why HAVE they been doing this? Are the retail workers who work in all these stores/shops/marts even aware of what they're selling? And, that medicine that got pulled from shelves, like some sort of commercial contraband? I know there is no way that part was accidentally timed.

12-11-2010 8:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Beyond the 'major change' to how Poke Balls are made in the factories that produce them, and the embargo on this Revitalus Immortalis medicine, that according to further research, might just be the cure to all this...there's one thing still missing. I'm still unable to make heads or tails of one crucial element in this whole mess. None of the research I've read so far that Abraham did, nor any of the newer research I started doing throughout today in an effort to catch up, is telling me anything about the Missigno GHOSTs.

Are they tied into the Nuzlocke Disorder Pandemic in any way? Are they also a newer breed of Pokemon? Are they EVEN Pokemon to begin with? If so, why have they been mercilessly killing, slaughtering, hunting down, or even possessing innocent Pokemon (or even non-Pokemon) left & right? What are they?! WHO are they?!

Personal Report #32 (December 12, 2010):

12-12-2010 12:00 NN (Axis' perspective)
The team is now well-rested, and Abraham has decided he is ready to head for the dojo now. I sort of wanted to check out Celadon to the west, but this is more important anyways. Hopefully, we can get this hashed out without much issue (if any at all). Although, something in my psychic senses is telling me I might need to be ready for a possible series of battles pretty soon. That's never a good sign...

12-12-2010 1:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
OK, we have new problems. The moment we arrived inside of the dojo, we were greeted by a lot of stern, intimidating looks from all of the other Black Belts & their Fighting-type Pokemon (save for the one Black Belt & Machoke who assisted us previously). The moment Abraham spotted Mitch, the Kadabra attempted to approach the Hitmonchan, before he was stopped by several other Fighting Pokemon (all of which looked really similar to the ones back at the Indigo Plateau). I knew this was gonna be bad...

[ENGAGE TRANSMISSION FEED]

Axis arrives at the Saffron Central Fighting Dojo with his team in tow.

Upon entering, the team is greeted with glaring, unwelcoming eyes.

Quinlan, remaining totally unphased, reciprocates & returns the leers, whilst hissing slightly.

Scorch, feeling nervous, holds onto Axis' cloak.

Nikolai, feeling anxious, shuffles his feet around slightly, looking back & forth repeatedly.

Abraham, standing right beside Axis, remains stoic & unperturbed.

After being blocked off from approaching Mitch by several other Pokemon, the leader of the dojo walks up to the team, looming over Axis & co.

Sensei Koichi: "Oi, you wish to challenge the dojo?"

Axis nudges Abraham forward slightly.

Axis: *whispers* It's for you...

Abraham: ;>.*.>

Koichi: "Well?"

Abraham: "We have come for your Hitmonchan."

Mitch: *smiles at Abraham from a distance*

Koichi: "OI! No one talks to our Pokemon, especially a scrawny 'telepathetic' outsider like you!"

Abraham: "..."

Quinlan: o.=.o

Nikolai: .w.

Axis: *in a ghetto NYC accent* "Oh no you didn't."

A Hitmonlee, Primeape, and Machamp surround Axis' team.

Koichi: "You have poisoned our Hitmonchan's mind with your outside world influence, little man."

Abraham: "YOUR philosophy is the one in the wrong here. You overwork your Pokemon, you abuse them, and you--" *sniff sniff* "...you live & train in THESE conditions?"

Koichi: "OI! That is none of your business, little fox! Hitmonlee, knock him down!"

Axis: "ABRAHAM!"

Abraham, having preemptively detected the sudden ambush, safely teleports out of the way.

The Hitmonlee strikes the floor with a now-missed kick attack, leaving a dent/break instead.

Abraham re-appears right behind Hitmonlee, shooting out a Psybeam out of his trustee Twistedspoon.

The unsuspecting Fighting type is struck from behind at point blank range, immediately collapsing to the floor afterwards.

Koichi: *gasp* "Hmph, I expect nothing less from a cheater"

Abraham is suddenly confronted by a flurry of punches from the now-infuriated Primeape.

The quick Kadabra yips loudly, barely dodging all of the hits via repeated teleporting.

The Primeape eventually bumps into Quinlan, who promptly bonks it on the head, knocking it out cold.

Quinlan: "Heheheheheh..." >.=.>

Abraham: "Quinlan! Behind you!"

Quinlan: "Gya?"

Quinlan turns around, and sees the four-armed Machamp charging up an electrical-based punching attack, running towards him.

Quinlan: *squeaky feesh noises* o.=.o;

Abraham teleports & re-appears in front of Quinlan, casting himself between the Gyarados & the incoming Machamp.

The Kadabra's forehead star & the gem on his Twistedspoon both glow brightly, as the charging Machamp is suddenly stopped right in it's tracks by a psychic glow surrounding it.

Abraham raises a hand, and waves it, sending the Machamp flying & hitting Koichi, both men being knocked onto their backs.

Abraham gives off a victorious smirk, as he tries again to approach Mitch, this time simply floating over to the fascinated Hitmonchan.

Mitch: "Abraham, that was amazing. Thank you..."

Abraham: "Don't worry, Mitch. We're here to rescue you."

Mitch: "Yes! Please! Take me out of here!"

Axis clears his throat, and walks over to the bewildered sensei, still pinned to the grimy dojo floor by the stunned Machamp.

Axis: "Now...if you would prefer for your precious, smelly dojo to remain open, and not receive a complaint or inquiry, I highly recommend you let this Hitmonchan go."

Koichi: "Nrgh...get...out...now..."

Abraham: "Kada..."

Koichi: "Ergh...fine...take the Hitmonchan with you...that one was a runt anyway..."

Mitch: .w.

Abraham extends his hand out towards Mitch, who grabs it, gets up, gathers his backpack, and starts for the door.

Axis: "Very well then. Come on boys, let's ditch this sweatshop."

Scorch: *covering his muzzle* "I'll say...I can't stand the feet funk in here..." .w.

The others follow Axis, Abraham, and Mitch out the door, Quinlan looking back for a moment.

Nikolai: "Hey Quin! You comin' or what?!"

Quinlan pauses, before spraying Koichi & his Machamp with cold water, before snickering deviously, and running out the door afterwards to catch up with the rest of the team.

[TRANSMISSION TERMINATED]

12-12-2010 6:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
Welp, that was quite a treat for our team. We all promptly showered back at home, because that place reeked, and had no ventilation whatsoever. At least we got Mitch out of there. He seems really happy to no longer be 'imprisoned' in there, as he transparently put it. Plus, our team hasn't quite had a Fighting-type before. I think in the name of being able to make better sense of our research findings, Mitch's newfound presence on the team might very well help further our research by a lot. This is gonna be additional spending I need to do now for groceries, essentials, and laundry though...

12-12-2010 6:30 PM (Scorch's perspective)
That place stank...but hey, new guy on the team, yay~

12-12-2010 7:00 PM (Quinlan's perspective)
Heheheheh, that was fun to do, messing with those muscleheads. LET'S DO IT AGAIN!

12-12-2010 7:30 PM (Nikolai's perspective)
Our team has gotten bigger once again. I sure hope our new team member makes himself feel welcome here. I heard he went through a lot of stuff back at that sketchy place.

12-12-2010 8:00 PM (Mitch's perspective)
Hi, guys. My name is Mitch Irvington, a Hitmonchan born atop the Mount Mortar area in the Johto region. Sensei Koichi raised me from a baby Tyrogue, but the place he kept me in wasn't the friendliest environment. They trained too hard, we didn't get much to eat between fights, and the guys rarely cleaned the place or themselves sometimes.

I'm just happy to finally be out of there now. I desperately wanted to get away from there, even if temporarily just to see the outside again. So, I started sneaking off to the ship down south, and that's how I met Abraham. He has been very understanding, and helpful from day one. I am honored to be a part of a newer, better, and more welcoming team now. I owe my life to my new fellow teammate, Abraham Johansson, and my new trainer, Axis Vactaire.

Personal Report #33 (December 13, 2010):

12-13-2010 6:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
It's been quite a while since someone new has joined the team, so now our current rations of essentials such as groceries, toiletries, apparel, and the like are suddenly no longer enough. Looks like a shopping trip is in order, and with luck on our side, we just so happen to currently be near the biggest shopping mall in the Kanto region; Celadon Field Mall. Plus, after all the hard work, battling, and research our team has been doing, I think it's time we were given the opportunity to unwind for a bit.

12-13-2010 9:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
With the last of our food finished this morning for breakfast, it is time for us to make our way to the Celadon Field Mall. Thankfully, Abraham has built up a sufficient enough mastery of the psychic powers I have been training him on getting a better handle on. As a result, Abraham & I can now combine our psychic impression together, and transport our entire team wherever we need to via teleportation. This maiden voyage of mass teleportation will be interesting. Let's see what happens.

12-13-2010 9:30 AM (Abraham's perspective)
Mission success! Master Axis, and I have successfully teleported our team from one location to another. More specifically, we have teleported ourselves from Saffron Central to the Celadon Field Mall. It looks like everyone is OK after that, since Axis has warned me how teleportation involving more than just yourself has risks, with an exponentially increasing risk factor with each additional entity requiring transport. I think I shall stick with the group for the moment, while I wait for this city's casino to open for the day. Each of us on the team has been given our own wallet, and personal allowance courtesy of Master Axis himself. However, since he will be buying most of the essentials regardless, I am saving up my share to spend at the casino to win our team a lot more money. I think for a budding psychic like myself, this shall pose no problem for this Kadabra~

12-13-2010 10:00 AM (Axis' perspective)
Let's see...new footwear & clothing sets for Mitch.

Probably some new footwear & clothing for each of the other team members too.

These mini-sandwiches filled with Pecha Jelly & Peanut Butter could tide us over for a bit.

But...knowing Quinlan (and now Nikolai too apparently), these will barely satiate their high metabolic needs & hunger.

I just hope Mitch isn't another big eater like they are...

Mitch also wants some arm wraps for his hands...?

Hmm...this box of frozen mini-pizzas looks tempting, but not every hotel/motel we've stayed at before has even so much as a microwave, much less an ove--

OH WAIT, we live somewhere now, complete with a full-sized fridge, stove, and oven.

I don't remember seeing much in the way of cooking supplies such as pots, pans, utensils, cups, and whatnot...

I guess I could get away with getting more of the frozen/refrigerated stuff now than before...

Plus, I feel like this team is about to get bigger once again, even beyond getting used to spending more than usual now with Mitch becoming a part of the team as of yesterday...

Uh-oh...where did everyone on the team go?

12-13-2010 11:00 AM (Quinlan's perspective)
There's a sit-down restaurant inside this shopping mall that just opened up for the day. The Hungry Snorlax Cafe, or whatever it's called. Nikolai tagged along with me, both of us ditching boss, because screw walking around all morning at the grocery store, watching that nerd stare comparatively at boxes of whatever Nikolai & I are just gonna down in one day tops anyways.

I think I'm gonna have us order a real beeg pizza, now that the chief entrusted us with some of his money for us to spend ourselves. Nikolai better learn fast to keep up, because I eat quick, and I eat a lot. Thank frick that lil' lizard ain't with us, he always complains when things aren't piping hot or spicy enough for him. That fox Abraham is another nerd, just like Axis. Guy barely eats anything, how does he even do it? Doesn't he need more food to power his Gary Stu of a brain or something? Whatever...time for lunch!

12-13-2010 11:00 AM (Nikolai's perspective)
I hope Axis won't be too pissed at us for wandering off, haha. Ohhh...why does Quinlan act like this? I'm hungry for lunch too, but must he be so high-spirited, this Gyarados? I better not spend this money all in one place. I feel like Axis has a lot of money, but still. I think he wants to teach us fiscal responsibility or something...I hope that new guy feels welcome on the team though.

12-13-2010 12:00 NN (Abraham's perspective)
Wow! This casino is huge! It's even part of a luxurious hotel resort & everything! Kadaaa...where to even begin? Video Poker, Slots, Keno, Roulette, this place has got it all! Oh boy, there's another all-you-can-eat buffet. Really pricey too, although the food looks plentiful, and super tantalizing. I hope a certain Gyarados does not find out, or Master Axis' wallet is about to be bled dry like a desert.

Meanwhile...in a canyon/valley area on an island in a faraway distant land...

A Larvitar, having hatched from an Egg just a couple of months ago, has grown from a newborn, into a youngster, now able to walk around on it's own.

The small green reptilian is frolicking playfully with the local Pokemon in it's habitat; some Cubone, a few Phanpy, some Geodude, and even a much smaller-than-usual Onix (possibly a regional variant of sorts).

The Phanpy begin rolling around, the Larvitar proceeding to try to mimic this maneuver; despite failed efforts, the little Rock Pokemon tries; this was most likely Rollout.

Later on, the wild Geodude try to teach the Larvitar some sort of weird technique.

The technique involves charging up a shockwave by vibrating their own body in a gradually intensifying manner, before letting loose the built up energy in the form of a mini-tremor to the immediate area; perhaps this was a Magnitude attack?

The Larvitar attempts to emulate this move, by vibrating intensely, only to make itself dizzy from the shaking.

Eventually, the Larvitar (joined by the Cubone) rides on the Onix's back, as the rocky serpent slithers around the vicinity.

The local wild Pokemon here appear to be at peace with their side of the world, potentially due to their chain of remote islands being isolated from the mainlands & regions, and the horrible struggles accompanying & burdening those unfortunate enough to be living out there in said regions.

The rough, forbidding layout of the canyon & valley area (referred to as Sevault Valley) discourages most trainers & their Pokemon from exploring this mostly untouched sanctuary.

Personal Report #35 (December 15, 2010):

12-15-2010 7:00 PM (Axis' perspective)
OK, so it's been a hectic time these past two days. Where do I even begin? Oh yeah, Abraham sneaked off to the casino in the middle of the grocery shopping trip (of course he did). That Kadabra proceeded to use his psychic powers to rake in too much from the table games, until some shady-looking people (presumably either security or the people in charge of running the casino) were summoned. Some wrassling later, Abraham accidentally revealed a [literally] underground operation going on behind the scenes.

Apparently, there's this membership rewards program for any casino patrons who sign up for it (I know for a fact Abraham signed up for that the moment he walked in). Depending on how well you do in the casino, you earn points on this sort of membership card, and each visit gets you a stamp or something. There's also this sign-up starter freebie package you get too. I imagine Abraham thought maybe the supposed prizes you could redeem all of this stuff for was probably something along the lines of arcade prizes (much like the redemption arcade I'm pretty sure we got kicked out of on the S.S. Anne).

Well...those weren't the only prizes available. Actual Pokemon were also available as prizes at the casino. According to some asking around, no one ever really questioned the ethics behind why the people running the place did this (which tells me a lot about the advocacy for Pokemon rights in this region, as if the way the Nuzlocke Disorder Pandemic has been addressed was already enough to stomach). Turns out, these Pokemon were acquired by illict means. Mostly, they are hunted down, poached, or captured in illicit ways, then held captive in cages, and living in unhealthy conditions.

At some point, the shady people set some Pokemon to attack Abraham with. Luckily, I trained him well enough, so he knew how to keep on the defensive. At one point, Abraham dodged an incoming attack, only to trip, slip, and fall onto a breaker panel on a wall. By being smashed into, it short-circuited, and resulted in an otherwise concealed door opening. The moment it unlocked, some of the caged Pokemon started running out the door, causing a ruckus & panic throughout the casino. Police eventually showed up, and with Abraham's help, the shady people & their own Pokemon were successfully taken down. It just so happens the opposition's Pokemon were all a bunch of Poison or Fighting Pokemon, all of which Abraham had a huge advantage over.

The casino owners were arrested, the place was shut down pending an investigation, and the remaining Pokemon were either returned to the wild, or returned to trainers who owned them, and reported them missing ever since their initial kidnapping. However, a few trainers have since passed away between the time their Pokemon were stolen from them, and their rescue from captivity now. It was decided that since Abraham was the one who rescued them, the rescued missing Pokemon of the dead trainers apparently belong to me now.

Unable to figure out what to do with this new information, and these sudden new Pokemon, I decided to video call Dr. Oak once again. Sometime later, he told me that legally, I am not supposed to have more than six Pokemon accompanying me in-person at any given time. As a result, he has offered to take them in at his laboratory back in Southern Pallet.

There were so many Pokemon too...I guess I can at least list out what they were:
-Persian (similar to the one Giovanni Sakai has actually) native to Southern Cerulean
-Gloom originally from Cerulean Cape
-Clefairy from Mount Moon
-Duduo who lived just outside Celadon
-Vaporeon whose origin is unknown, due to having been captive for too long
-Arcanine also native to just outside Celadon
-Venomoth from some place pretty far south of Celadon
-Golduck from some distant island cave off the coast of Southern Kanto
-Dragonair from the same place as the Venomoth
-Lickitung from somewhere not too far from Celadon
-Hypno from a forest (called Berry Forest) on another distant island
-Weezing from a volcano island somewhere far south of Southern Pallet
-Arbok from an area somewhere south of the Indigo Plateau area
-Marowak from somewhere near the Indigo Plateau area

I don't even know what most of these Pokemon are, where they're from, or who any of their original owners are. But...this is so many...I can't just take care of this many this quickly. And...these Pokemon...they spent much of their lives separated from their trainers, and whatever Pokemon they knew under their original owners. How would they even get used to living in the outside world again? Will they be able to understand the fact that their trainers have been dead for a long time? I just hope Dr. Oak can take them in, help them heal/recover, and care for them as best as he can. He's the best in the region though, I have faith in him.
