This is going to be a tough two weeks for me. On the one hand, I REALLY want to go in as blind as possible. On the other, I'm REALLY curious about the leaks. There's also the assholes who attempt to spoil it for others for no reason. I BRIEFLY saw something, but I managed to get rid of it fast enough that I don't remember what I saw.

Given the amount of leaks, I wonder if they'll be releasing a trailer with the actual starter evolutions to counter it or if they'll just ignore it considering we have less than 2 weeks before the games come out. I'm really surprised we went this long without an actual starter evolution trailer.

Adept at procrastination. If he ever seems productive, it's likely because he's ignoring something far more important.
I'm starting to suspect this might be all we're getting officially. I think there have been two separate "everything revealed so far" trailers this weekend and last. If there was only one I could see more happening, but two makes me think this might be it. Based on the trailer timing, if we get anything more, I think it'd only be a few days before release. In that case, it'd probably just be whatever new Corocoro has to show for release month, which could easily include mid form starters and other early game evolutions.

So, they confirmed a couple new mechanics this morning:

-Mints can be used to change a Pokemon's nature
-It seems the 100 EV limit from vitamins is gone, so you can use 26 of them to max out a stat
-You get to pick how many to use on a Pokemon, so no more mashing A
-Rare Candies might be gone or supplemented by EXP Candies ranging from XS to XL, which add a set amount of experience to a Pokemon (XL gives 30K)
-PC can be accessed from almost anywhere (I think this was already confirmed, but I just wanted to make sure)
-Pokemon of the same species can pass moves onto each other at the Nursery (The example they showed was a Sylveon passing Moonblast onto another Sylveon)
-For a short time, some Gigantamax raid battles will be more common. Butterfree in both, Drednaw in Sword, and Corviknight in Shield (Which means that Corviknight is going to be on my Shield team)

Also, and this is speculation on my part, it seems vitamins might be easier to obtain (Not that they were THAT difficult to begin with)

EDIT: One last tidbit that I missed: You can now nickname traded Pokemon provided they don't already have a nickname.

Progress...? At least now I can give nicknames to Pokemon in Wonderlockes in SwSh.

The Violet Wizard. Passionate about art, food, and games.
Mints are a great addition! Being able to change the nature of a specific Pokémon is really cool, especially for those that find a shiny with a shit nature. Exp Candies sounds like a nice way to level up those trickier Pokémon like Pawniard and Zweilous, and feeding Pokémon multiple vitamins at once is great for filling up their EVs! All these and the new Egg Move mechanics seem like a great way to raise up your Pokémon for casual and competitive play! I'm really happy they're streamlining this process!

Changing Natures and Egg Moves of caught Pokemon means it's now possible for you to change any Wild Pokemon to be as good as any Pokemon that you bred! How easy that process will be remains to be seen, as Hyper Training was a little too awkward to obtain the level 100 requirement in S/M... But it's great that I can make any shiny I catch into a perfect Pokemon of that species. Same with starters and any other Pokemon I use in my in game teams and have a strong attachment to. This is all very good news!

A Pokémon shrouded in hearsay and urban legend, spoken of only in whispered tales and hushed gossip.
All we really need now is the ability to tweak IVs and access hidden abilities. As much as there's a neat "exclusive" or "investment" feel to breeding, I would happily trade that in a heartbeat for not needing to spend hours just trying to get the right mon with the right IVs and stuff.

Yeah, Hidden Abilities and specific stuff like minimum Speed/Attack or Hidden Power-based IV spreads still can't be obtained on something that didn't already have them with the current methods... But everything else can, so I'm happy!

I'm interested in the fact that we can swap Pokemon from PCs from anywhere now. This will definitely make having rotation teams more viable as we won't have to stop at a Pokemon center in order to swap teams for grinding anymore. It might actually make grinding safer as well as if you have a very injured Pokemon, you can swap it into the PC and then swap it back out fully healed! No chance of running into a battle with your team badly injured if you swap regularly.

I'm curious about which of these new features will be ignored or utilized in nuzlockes.

The anywhere PC existed in Let's Go, too. In those games, the auto-heal upon depositing was no longer a thing, so I suspect it'll work similarly here. So it might actually get you into some prickly situations if you don't remember that fact and pull something half dead out of the box without checking!

We got our final trailer and, with it, two new Pokemon! ...which they said NOTHING about. No names, no types, nothing. I'm sure the leaks have already shown everything about it, but I'm ignoring those because I want go in as blind as possible because I haven't done so since Red and Blue.

The first one definitely looks like a Ghost type to me. Possibly Dark or even Rock as well, but definitely Ghost. The second one is harder to tell. I'd say maybe Ice judging by the way it is presented? The picture Serebii has shows it among a bunch of Ice types (And a particularly pissed off Lapras, I might add but that's not relevant).

And, for a bit of fun discussion before the games release, are there any Pokemon that have been OFFICIALLY revealed (Not leaked) that you're looking particularly forward to using?

The list of stuff I want to use are:
The three starters (Sobble first, then I'll probably flip a coin because I like both Grookey and Scorbunny equally)
Corviknight
Literally every Galar form and their respective evolutions
Yamper
Impidimp
Wooloo
Duraludon
Morpeko

EDIT: The belly of the second new Pokemon (the one with the ice types) is a Popplio cosplaying as Batman. You can't tell me otherwise.

I'm interested to find out how the games will affect Nuzlocke rules, mainly stuff like the Wild Area(this one is a big ??? on how to deal with it) and overworld Pokemon in relation to catches but also with the new portable PC. Might or might not try to do a blind run since I hear the game is super easy anyways

So, the review embargo has been lifted, and I'm not going to lie. I'm overjoyed that they are overwhelmingly positive. No 5/5s or 10/10s, which I didn't expect. The lowest I've seen was 3/5, but there are several 4/5s and 8-9/10s.

One review had an interesting tidbit, though. Of the 8 gyms in each game, 3 are version exclusive. I'd have hoped for one more to make it half, but I'll take it.

...

PLEASE JUST LET THERE BE A DARK ONE IN BOTH!

Almost immediate EDIT: Just skimming through reviews, and I found:

New type combinations include Ice/Electric and Electric/Poison
Gen V Pokemon evidently appear in the dex a lot compared to recent generations.
Gym badges restrict what level Pokemon you can catch. I understand this given how you can encounter high level stuff in the Wild Area.
Gym puzzles are more like trials rather than just battling trainers (Which I assume are still there, but with more puzzle solving)

EDIT2: There's a little Easter egg involving the Switch in your house in the game. The joy cons actually mimic the ones currently in use (handheld) or last used (docked) for your Switch. Just a tiny detail, but it adds a little charm. Also, the game appears to use British English as opposed to the American English seen in previous games (at least in the US). The TV says "It's a brand new telly. Your mum bought it so that you could use your game console." A small but very fitting detail for the region based on the UK.

Well, with one of the lead designers of the game being from the UK, it was only natural! I really love how it makes Galar feel distinct compared to the Japan inspired regions.

Used to be frequent, but has matured into a lazy son of a--
We got DLC, peeps!
First, Mystery Dungeon DX bait-and-switching the DP fans (it's still coming), but the art style is very storybook-like. Megas are confirmed there, just don't let the enemy Pokémon evolve like SMD when they kill us.
Now for the juicy meat that is ze DLC: part 1 is the saffron dojo guy's dream of having his own story.
DJ Mustard on the Beat, Ho officially deconfirms Gen 9's Pokémon Ketchup and Mustard, we get a toxic bitch/snooty goofball as the rival harem grows, we meet the new Kung Fu Bear that evolves into evil and hippie Po who get G-max (as the kids call em) forms and the other Kanto starters/the current starters as well.
Part 2 we get two new Regis which I shall dub Regizap and Regidge, which questions how Regigigas will work now since the Yellow and Crimson Regi Rangers are here. Most of the legendaries will return in raids/dens and the Kanto birds have G-forms with G-Moltres being the best. And with the dlc, the next split Evo Pokémon to get a G-form is Slowpoke.

And now, I will formally announce my future Sword run, titled Mmm Mmm, Bitch: A Pokémon Sword Cheflocke. Yes, a cooking nuzlocke that involves the currydex in some shape or form and using the switch to post screenshot will be a hassle.

Adding to this, there's an important thing to note:
All of the Pokemon added by these DLCs will be available via free update to those without the Expansion Pass to trade/transfer in. It doesn't necessarily state the NEW Pokemon, but all 200+ old Pokemon will be part of it.

Also, Accelrock now has something that can use it again. Seriously, it's in the base game and nothing learns it. You can only get it via Metronome.

So I've heard the legendary bird forms described by different fans as evolutions, Galarian forms, and G-Max forms. I'm personally of the opinion that they're Galarian forms, but I suppose it'll be some time before we know for sure.

Honestly, I'd rather have a $30 DLC pack than have to spend $60 on something that's basically the same game but better. But I suppose whether the pack is worth it or not depends on how much enjoyment I get from it, which is... something I'll have to decide for myself... after I buy it.

Also, I would have prefered a new Gen 8 PMD game to a remake of the first one, and I'm not really a fan of the art style, but I'll take what I can get. Been waaaaay too long since Super.

If they were G-max forms, then they'd have had the three little clouds around them in any of the concept art. I'm pretty certain they're just Galarian forms, since they seem roughly equivalent to their base forms, but with elements that would suggest different types. Curious what types, though. I got a Dark vibe from Moltres initially, and a Psychic vibe from Articuno... But looking at the three of them together, I could see them all as Dark types, potentially! Because I'm not sure what Zapdos' secondary type could be otherwise... Fighting, perhaps? It's got much beefier legs, and they've used that type triangle before...

Oh, I agree they're not G-Max forms. That type triangle does make sense, and it'd certainly be interesting if they used it.
