Doesn't actually like birds all that much.
Wooloo is already god tier, as evidenced by how the entire pokemon fandom is worshiping it.

Sightings of them in the wild are rare, as they prefer to stay indoors with their art tablet and little siblings.
I want there to be more early game representation for ice types. Aside from the fossil mon in Kalos, every single other type is available by the halfway point in every single region.

Fate, I hope Impidimp evolves into a demonic mon. I've been waiting for one since the old Dragon Warrior Monsters games, wondering when Pokémon could have a devil mon, so Game Freak better not disappoint.

I want there to be more early game representation for ice types. Aside from the fossil mon in Kalos, every single other type is available by the halfway point in every single region.
We also got Delibird and Smoochum on Melemele Island in Alola (though the latter's only in USUM), but it's still pretty terrible as far as availability goes.

Based on the Treehouse Live footage, we might get some other Ice types pretty early in the Wild Area, at least. We saw Snover hanging out in the same patch of grass as a level 14 Machop. So unless that changes, I'd say that's at least one early game Ice type confirmed! We also saw Vanillite on the lake that a level 10 Goldeen was fished out of. And another player's message popped up showing they caught a Snorunt, too! ...Though their appearance may be quite dependent on the weather...

Overall, I'm pretty excited for these games. I like most of the designs of the Pokemon we've seen so far. The characters are seem likable, and look to be pretty well animated. And the potential diversity of the Wild Area (and the possible nonlinearity that may be possible due to it connecting to so many different towns and cities) seems like it'll be great for Nuzlocke replayability! Aside from the whole Pokemon incompatibility thing (which I'm not sure I'll ever get over), I think these games look to be a good direction for the series, and I'm excited to finally get my hands on them in November!

I'm gonna come out and say it: I don't care about the lack of National Dex support. Whenever a new generation comes out, I'm always fixated on the new content, not so much the older content.
I already love what I've seen of the new Pokémon(Impidimp is my son now and I'll protect him with my life), and the human characters all look very nice and interesting. It's so cool how the rival is related to the Champion, giving them a more personal reason to want to become stronger. The Dynamax mechanic looks really cool, and I'm interested in finding out by how much it improves a Pokémon's combat abilities.
Also, I'm very hyped for these games because they've included things I've been planning for my own personal region for some time now(a grass monkey starter, a tan skinned female Water GL, a cooking mechanic using ingredients found in the overworld/NPCs, and open world elements where Pokémon appear in the overworld).
I am incredibly excited to get to play this game and see how the series evolves from here. Still not certain which version I'll be getting(probably not both since Switch games are expensive in Canada), gonna need to see some more version exclusives first. Either way, Galar awaits the arrival of the Violet Wizard!

My main issue is just how it will effect the replayability of the games. In every other region, I can breed a team of whichever Pokemon I like from all that exist and then use them as my team going through the game. But now, for the first time in the series, my choices will be limited.

I also enjoy using Pokemon that I've never used before. If popularity is a major deciding factor for which old Pokemon make it into the Galar Pokedex, then it's possible that far more of the Pokemon I've used before will be included than ones that I've never used before.

People will also be outright unable to use their favourite Pokemon in any capacity in Sword and Shield if their favourite is one of the (likely) hundreds that are cut. Since I've just completed a solo run with my own favourite Pokemon in both Ultra Moon and White, I'd be annoyed if I found out I couldn't do that in Swish because my favourite wasn't included.

And one of my favourite things to do when the Bank compatibility was added in Gen 6 and 7 was breeding and Wonder Trading a bunch of stuff that didn't exist in the region so that random players would get new Pokemon that they'd never find while playing the game normally. That's never gonna be a thing in Sword and Shield.

It's perfectly understandable why it wouldn't be a major issue to many players, but for a lot of us, there are many ways in which this decision will detract from our experience with the game.

From the *ahem* original poster, I'm glad Masuda stood his ground on the no national dex stance. I was completely aware that even though the roster is getting cut, it wouldn't mean they would return in a future game. So DP remake/Let's Go Snubbull + Marill hype!!

Hello OvO Everyone introduced in galar seems like a riot, and i can't wait to get my team handed to me by mons in the wild 10 levels higher than I am.
Not too big on the dynamax feature yet, gotta see how it works in game. But right now it just screams L A G to me (although apparently it doesn't, which is good to hear), and I literally can't suspend my disbelief enough to sit and watch two nukes collide in a stadium that's not literally rubble afterwards.

So that'll be something to work on before the 15th.

New trailer has dropped today, and I'm very excited to discuss this!
Three new Pokémon have been revealed, alongside the official announcement of Yamper. Alcremie is so freaking adorable! It's how I would have liked Slurpuff to look like from the start! Rolycoly looks pretty cool. I love just how rough it looks, which is fitting for a lump of coal(SINNOH REMAKES?!). Steam Engine seems like a useful ability, and I'm excited to see its evolutions. Duraludon looks pretty great as well. A Steel/Dragon that doubles as a cannon is a great concept. I'm excited to use this bruiser in battle.
Version exclusive gym leaders are an idea that was attempted in Gen 5, but I am so happy they're doing it again here! Bea and Allister look great, and I'm interested in finding out what their teams are. I'm leaning more towards Shield now since I love Allister's design so much!
So Gigantomaxing seems like this game's version of Mega Evolutions. Instead of simply growing bigger, the Pokémon's form actually changes, which is a great use of the Dynamax mechanic. Alcremie, Drednaw, and Corviknight's Gigantomax forms all look super cool. I'm glad they've only shown Gigantomax forms for the new Pokémon, because we don't need any more Gen 1 pandering in this series(but please give me Gigantomax Farfetch'd, GF).
All in all, a nice trailer that gives us a ton of new content to explore in Galar. Looking forward to seeing what else the region has to offer soon!

This Pokemon can sometimes be found meticulously editing and re-editing it's own content, never satisfied with the results.
I'm pretty happy with the dynamax/gigantomax mechanics from what I've seen so far, tbh. I wasn't so sure when it was first announced, but after seeing since people pay the demos and having some new information shared, it seems to be fine to me.

I'm not gonna lie, I wish they were showing off a bit more of the music for the game in these trailers. They keep using the same track and it's feeling underwhelming to me already.

As of right now, I'm fine with the removal of mega evolutions and z moves. To be honest, I always sort of expected those to be regional things in the first place.

I already like Gigantamax more than Dynamax. I feel like it's a different take on Mega Evolutions. Might not be as powerful, but if that's the case I don't think it'll rely on an item. If it is as powerful, I can see it replacing Megas and the Pokemon who have them can Gigantamax as a result. In fact, as I'm typing this I could see Leon having it with his Charizard.

Can I just say that I love that Gigantamax Alcremie is officially the tallest Pokemon at a whopping 98' 5"? That's more than two Wailord combined. I also like this line "Alcremie will launch high-calorie cream missiles around itself to attack its opponents."

I am 100% on board with version exclusive gym leaders. Gives you more incentive to play the other version. I also like how the first version exclusive Pokemon confirmed are all pseudo-legendaries.

...please Alcreme, be at least more tasteful than the stupid ice cream Pokémon from Unova. I don't want to hate you, really I don't, but the gigantamax/evolution cake is working against you, girl.
Duraludon looks pretty cool, Rolycoly has potential, and the official reveal of Yamper but not Mr. Yo-kai.
Chairman Rose is Theheatedmo to Leon's KSI and Hop's Deji, Bea is somebody's bae (easy joke is no profit), and Allister's design is quite amazing.
With the removal of the national dex, this gives these mons and the other new ones to come a chance to shine, and with GF focusing on mobile, they can work on a game that can hold all (potentially) 1000+ mons and beyond with patch updates.
Now for masters, I hope we don't get stuck with Pikachu. If there are opportunities to get new mons, then my eyes are set on shinx, deino, or wooloo (since best mon totodile might be owned by Kris).

Just wanted to step in to say I love Alchremie and I want twenty of them if they even make official plush merch of the thing. If they aren't given pluses, I will be more than happy to give TPC's merch department an earful if they don't. Okay, byeee~

All in favor of nicknaming Alcremie Rose Quartz? Only because Mrs. mashmallow wouldn't fit. Now we wait for the snu snu jokes for her gigantamax

I don't personally have much to say wrt speculations, but I just have to say I adore the human character designs this go around! The pokemon designs are fantastic as well, of course, but it's so fun seeing such varied and charismatic human designs, especially given how the series started off with humans all rather cookie cutter. I think Allister's probably my favorite thus far (which makes me happy since I'm getting Shield), but it's so awesome to see a girl with abs! I don't expect the gym leaders will interact much (if at all), but I smell a lot of fun Family Dynamic potential out of this bunch already. I'm so excited!

I liked the looks of everything from the latest trailer! With Duraludon, Rolycoly and Drednaw, I really feel like making a team of all chunky Pokemon to use in Galar! ...But I don't expect Grookey's evos would really fit that description, so that may be an idea for a replay...

Speaking of evolutions, I noticed this logo behind Chairman Rose:

Based on its thunderbolt tail and dog shape (and the distinct differences from Manectric's silhouette), I'm pretty sure that's what Yamper will evolve into!
