I'm usually pretty heavy on the grinding myself, altho moreso later in the game than early. Got my starter up to lv 75 in my Yellow locke to prep for the E4 U:

Tailsimp: The Impish Pokemon. Despite being quiet and reserved, this pokemon is usually very happy to talk and is always excited to help out!
See with my fear in Nuzlockes I'll grind my pokemon up like an extra 10 lvls each of I don't put a cap on it lol. Its all or nothing with me and grinding.

This Pokemon can sometimes be found meticulously editing and re-editing it's own content, never satisfied with the results.
For me, Grinding tends to be to even out levels and I usually aim for a point where I can comfortably take on the next boss.

Case in point: In Fire Red, I tend to grind everything to Level 8 before Viridian Forest, then just before Brock, I bump everything up to Level 11.

X and Y have such an easy time grinding though. Battle Chateau with the Writ that makes people cycle in every minute, and the Furisode Girls all use Audinos. Me and my friend were able to keep 20+ Pokemon on level just to keep each other guessing (We were battling after every Gym).
Ah yes, the Viridian Forest. Early game in general is probably one of the few places where I find grinding to be a necessity. Catching so many new pokemon, and at such low levels, sort of sets you up for failure if you're not careful. At least, as long as you're trying to level evenly.

I haven't played too far yet in my UM but I feel like I'm probably gonna be in the "way too much grinding" team

This Pokemon is inconcievably cute. It tries to intimidate its foes with its long, luscious locks, but to little avail.
i either grind too much or not at all

it’s a problem, really

Always has a cat on her lap and a run that she should be working on. Loves Fire Emblem and Persona.
I forgot to wake up on time to help my mom check plants but I did get an extra two hours of sleep that I usually don't, so... win? I think?

hi
I tend to undergrind tbh. Grinding is boring and I'm impatient!! Until I get right to the end of the game, then I grind way too much.

This Pokémon is said to be scared of its own shadow. It can often be found sitting in the rain.
I usually have a rule not to grind up to more than the next gym leader's highest level. Unless I'm doing a tricky ruleset.

I usually just grind until I don't want to anymore. This limit depends on if I'm playing on an emulator or not.

Eccentric 'locker obsessed with Magikarp.
I generally stick to the max level of the next leader ace/totem/boss when it comes to grinding.

P much same. Less of a risk of the ace taking out half your team and all.

Normally, I go to the level of the next gym leader's ace. If I'm really worried, I'll try not to go more than 2-3 levels above! Otherwise you just sweep em and it's not fun or challenging.

I feel the best level to grind for any gym leader or boss is one where you feel you will have the most entertainment out of.

Want to roll over the next boss? Grab a few over their ace. Want an even match? Go ahead and go for the tie. Want to really test your mettle? Stick a couple levels below.

What really gets me is the grind itself. Part of the reason I despise Johto is the fact there's absolutely no grind potential in the midgame.

Oh, so when Onix eats rocks and soil, it's fine, but when I do it, it's suddenly "an affront to nature" and "destroying Mrs. Crenshaw's zen garden"?
I generally make sure to battle every trainer possible, then grind to the next level ending in 5 or 0. I want to be at least the level of the next gym leader's ace, and maybe 5 or so levels over it. In newer games you get mad EXP, so lately I've been way overleveled
